Miss Pickerill goes to the Artic
Miss Pickerill is off on another adventure and has to leave her beloved cow behind. This simple book is good especially for 2nd - 4th graders. It has good vocabulary and educational value, but is also humorous. A very cute book. I loved it as a child and still think it is great.

a new understanding of ethnic identity
This book addresses the problem of "race" and ethnic identity for bi-ethnic people. The author focuses on mixed race among Japanese Americans, Jewish Americans and Black Americans, as well as the phenomenon of intermarriage in the military. For each group, he takes an historical approach of traditional ideas about miscegenation in each group, and then follows through with examples of intermarriage in each group and the reactions on behalf of each group involved. The approach is a mix of history, sociology and ethnic studies. Although limited to only three groups among which racial mixing has occurred, each study is quite weighty and comprehensive.

Model Railroading in Small Spaces
This is an excellent overview of what is involved with setting up and running a layout in limited space. The author gives plenty of options and details of what is involved without preaching. I've read seven books on the topic and this was by far the easiest reading.

It was good.
This book was pretty good, and it had a lot of good pictures in it, but I thought that it could have been more detailed. I mean, this is THE Joe Montana and I think that there is a lot more to his life than mentioned in this book. However, that's the only bad thing about it and I would really recommend this.

Critic
It would be much more useful if the examples were more analytical. Some "advanced" techniques (e.g. EHLLAPI , Message Object ,Master Detail Datawindows , Multi Table Updates , MDI Interface ,DynamicDatawindows etc.) should be covered in depth with "like a manual" examples.

Good Practice
These books are helpful and a good way to study for boards. Many people do not know how to approach board review - with these books you can set yourself a goal of 50 or 100 questions per day. Answers include explanations so you're not forced to look up wrong answers and try to determine where got confused. Plus, the actual board exam questions are actually easier than these. A good tune-up!

A very touching experience
The simple words are sometimes the best, when it comes to describe the unique bond between mother and son. I found this book to be very touching, as I often had to dab a tear after reading the heartfelt outpourings from mother to son and vice versa. My favorite picture is of Anne Lamott and her son Sam... there is just something in the picture that speaks to me of my own mother. My favorite 'snippet' would have to be Colin Salmon's description of his mother's trip to meet his father's family in Jamaica. This book has something to it that beautifully captures the emotions that often cannot be described or expressed. I love you mom!
