I was a patient at Cumberland heights back in the 90's. I was afraid of God. My addiction took me to places where I knew thre was a GOD but did no believe he wanted anything to do with me. This book introduced me to GOD, not as a damning GOD But a GOD that loves me unconditionally. I recommend it to anybody trying to find faith, not just recoveryong addicts/alcoholics. I have had the priviledge of getting to know Dr Ishee as a man, I have not seen him in over a year. I know that if I walked in his office tomorrow that he would probably remeber my name and we could talk about anything as if I ssaw him the day before. He brought me back to GOD and I believe it is stated in this book. I told Dr Ishee that I believe in GOD but do not think he wanted anything to do with me, I was a lost cause. Dr Ishee asked "Mark do you have Children?" I said I have a son. Dr Ishee then asked "Do you love your son, no mater what ever mistakes he will make in his life?". I said I do, no matter what mistakes he will ever make. Dr Ishee said" That is exactly how GOD loves you, unconditionally, you are his son". It has been 6 years since DR Ishee had that talk with me but I do think about that everyday.Mark Baker

I had the privilege of meeting John Ishee at Cumberland Heights rehab center in Nashville. He is truly an inspiration. His book has very simple steps to follow to have a full, spiritual life.

This is one of the best books that I have read on the theology of Pope John Paul II. The book Witness To Hope by George Weigel was good but lacked the theological ideas/philosophy of this Pope. I highly recommend this book as to Catholic theology for both Catholics and Protestants.

Another Dulles masterpiece---clear, balanced, sympathetic to the pope's position but not without some critical questions. The book gets at the religious vision animating the moral and political positions. A dazzler.

What a wonderful cookbook (especially for husbands and boyfriends that want to impress you with a home-made dinner). The connection to sports makes the recipes fun. Not only are they easy to prepare, but they are delicious! I recently went to a party where the host prepared several foods from the cookbook. Not only did he have the time to enjoy the party because he wasn't slaving away in the kitchen, but the food was simply wonderful. I recommend it to everyone!

This is a great cookbook! I needed something to make something quick and impressive for my parents, and this was perfect. My only gripe is a dearth of vegetarian recipes, but for non-vegetarians, this is a perfect beginner cookbook. I'm getting one for my brother for his graduation present--and probably will keep buying it for all the people I know who are just starting out on their own.

This was one of the most interesting books I ever read. Even though he has changed the names of everyone, certainly all the people mentioned would recognize themselves and what fools have been made of them. I would think that they, and their governments, would all be out for revenge. This is really a tell-all book of spy methods. I am surprised that it isn't classified, and I would think that it might seriously compromise our own spies in the area of national security, unless spy methods have really changed a lot since that time, and all these methods have become obsolete. But I don't think so, as they mostly involve people skills. Nevertheless, I am thinking about writing a novel,a nd a lot of the information I was searching for was found here. An amazing, exciting book. Hard to put down. As it is out of print, I ordered it used through one of the used booksellers in Amazon.com. I recommend you do the smae. The book I received was in excellent condition, and I'm glad I read it.

I have been waiting a long time for this modern reissue of Ramsay's classic work. Wilson's edition does not disappoint. Saint Philomema is an amazing Saint. This book deals with all of the Miracles associated with her, and more. One must believe in the existence of God to appreciate the many marvelous Saint's he has raised up to combat evil over the course of Human history, and also to spread Christianity and his word. The book is fabulous, if you Love reading about Catholic Saint's I highly recommend that you read about Saint Philomena. I thank Father Paul Sullivan for introducing me to the story of one of God's incredible children from our human family. Saint's stand out from the rest of us, because what they endure and strive to accomplish spiritually is staggering beyond words. Praise God and Bless You All.

Father O'Sullivan's book on Saint Philomena is a comprehensive look at the history of the devotion to this mysterious martyr from the Catacomb of Saint Priscilla. Dropped from the liturgical calendars in 1961 due to lack of authentic biographical information about her life, Saint Philomena has been nearly forgotten by Catholics of the Post-Vatican 2 era. This is a shame, for contrary to the flood of MIS-information currently published about her, Philomena was NOT de-canonized or declared not to have existed. O'Sullivan's book sheds much needed light on the controversy surrounding the finding of her remains in 1802 in the catacombs.

This child was found with her skull very badly fractured, with evidence of lance-wounds. This, regardless of any controversy about the disarrangement of her tomb-tiles, proves that this Christian child died a horribly violent death. The badly fractured head, coupled with the vial of martyrs' blood placed inside the tomb next to her head, PROVES her martyrdom for all who care to see the truth. Her Sainthood is proven by the numerous and well-documented miracles which have continued to occur since 1805, when people first began to ask this mysterious Child Saint to pray for them.

I am delighted that Father O'Sullivan's book is again available, and I encourage all who want an ACCURATE assessment of the story of Saint Philomena, to get and read THIS book, and not the more modern and erroneous books and articles about her.

As an avid reader of true crime books this one rates really high on my list. I loved every minute of it as the book was well written and really held your attention. Once I started reading I could not put it down. I liked it because the author told the entire story without adding endless pages of scientific termonology that would go over the average reader's head. I would recommend this book to anyone who is fascinated with the criminal mind.

"Stalking Justice" is a very good book. It is the story of the arrest, conviction, and eventual putting to death of Timothy Wilson Spencer for a series of gruesome rape/murders in Virginia in the 1980s. The murders took place in Arlington and Richmond. The book focuses on Arlington Detective Joe Horgas' investigation. This was also the first murder conviction that hinged on the breakthrough forensic science of DNA fingerprinting. This not only lead to the conviction of Spencer but helped free a man who had been convicted of one of the murders.Paul Mones does an excellent job of recreating the horrific crimes and crime scenes. Spencer was also linked to a series of break-ins/rapes that had been committed by a masked man. He was truely an evil person. Mones takes the reader step by step through Horgas' investigation. He shows the reader the right things that were done and also the errors that were committed by others. I grew up in Richmond and remember the panic that shook the city to it's core during the "Southside Strangler's" 3 murder spree. The number of murders may not seem large by serial killer standards, but there was a genuine fear in the city, especially by women who lived alone. I also knew one of the victim's mother. She was a teacher of mine in elementary school, so I always remembered the case. A whole other book could be written about the psychological aspects of the killer's makeup, but the bottom line is this was an individual who ritualistically tortured his victims and kept them alive for long periods of time before killing them. Luckily, he was stopped.I have a few complaints about the book. First, Det. Horgas is depicted as a one man wrecking crew while all other investigators are depicted as pig-headed or incompetent. I don't believe the entire Richmond PD was that inept. It was pointed out that several people involved had reservations about how Horgas came up with Spencer's name. While the evidence shows that Spencer undoubtedly committed the murders, the question of how Horgas pulled Spencer's name out of thin air is a curious one. I have no doubt this can happen in an investigation, but it is very coincidental that it happened this way in such a high profile one. My only insinuation is that maybe there was more information not privy to the reader. Also it was mentioned that animal hairs/fibers were found but the author never gave resolution to this. Did Spencer have a dog? Maybe I missed that in my reading. These complaints are minor as the author overall did an outstanding job. My only major complaint is that no picture of Spencer was included in the photo spread in the book. All major players were shown including the man falsely accused, but not Spencer. This was an error in editing. My last observation is in regards to the DNA analysis. The author mentions another case involving Barry Sheck, where DNA analysis was thrown out when the lab's quality control came under fire. DNA fingerprinting is revolutionary in crime fighting but it is only as good as the people analyzing the samples. Spencer was undoubtedly guilty, but for the sake of innocent persons accused the labs doing the tests have to be closely monitored. The Spencer case is also mentioned in John Douglas' "Journey into Darkness".

Lee Morgan is an oddity among women. She is no Southern Belle, but a horse rancher, tough and strong as any man. Determined to prove her capability, she agrees to race her stallion against a neighbor's, despite her misgivings about the wisdom of gambling and horse racing.

The races have brought danger and a low element to Burnt Rock, making Marshall Ben Flood's life harder. It also endangers both him and Lee. The wildness evolves into murder. It is too late to stop the race though, and it will take every resource in Lee to win it. Faith and courage are key elements to proving herself.

***** This innocent novel will appeal to fans of Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey. It shows that faith can carry into every aspect of life, even those not traditionally thought of as requiring it. Both parents and children can share this book as a family read.

This was an excellent western novel. The author wove an interesting fictional story with accurate horse information and christian values.

Ok what can i say i'm exstatic, lol. What a shocking development..he put a shock to my system. Its static the man virgil hawkins. I ran into this comic a while back when it was hot but wasn't really into it at the time. But now that i've matured and seen the comic it got me interested so ya know what i got static all the static i could find. I love this comic its like a comic for the ages, it deals with all the issues that need to be dealt with in our society. I love how it works the fluency, the art and of course teh writing. I don't know why i didn't find this sooner now i've made quest for myself trying to get my hands on all the static i can i belive issues 1-45. I recommend this to any comic fan of any gender and age. Its the kind of thing that any person can enjoy even those who aren't into comics. The teen angst, super heroes using their brains not their brawn. And that's all i can say..or can think of right now at least

This book recounts the origin and first adventures of Static. The artwork by John Paul Leon is beautifully done, and the painted coloring adds a real sense of quality. The story really captures the feel of Static's everyday life. It is different from the TV show in the details, but the characters, feel, and attitude are the same. I highly recommend it.

I used this book for my MBA statistics class recently. This book is very well written in a clear way, not meant to be fancy but to provide a comprehensive coverage of most, if not all, relevant topics. I also belive that the coverage depth of each topic is adequate enough to satisfy all common business and economics applications.

This book bring us statistics in a simple way, begining with easy exercises and increasing them to hard tasks. I have tried a lot of diferent books, some of them in Portuguese, and this was the only one that is realy good enough to teach us without a tutor or professor. It brings the most important parts of statistics for Business and Economics using exercises that talk about real cases and real hypothesis testing. It was easer to learn from this book than to do it in my own language.
