The best fundamental C programming book I have read.
This is, by far, the best book for the beginning programmer. The prose is clear and intelligent. The example problems and the exercise problems are interesting.

If you are looking for a programming book for the first time, or if you wish you had picked up a good programming book the first time around, then this book is for you.

Although Essential Email Standards is intended for the Internet messaging technician, even non-techies like myself can benefit from its exhaustive and comprehensive coverage of all the major Internet protocols and RFCs. Loshin provides the latest information on all the Internet messaging standards, as well as a complete description of the standards making process.

The book is also extremely well organized and laid out, with plenty of diagrams, tables, sidebars, and notes. The only disappointing aspect of the book is the skimpy index at the end. Perhaps this is the publisher's way of encouraging readers to use the CD-ROM and Adobe PDF Reader supplied with the book.

Indeed, searching for key words and phrases with the Adobe Reader is a breeze--you just slide the CD-ROM into your computer, double click the installation file, and away you go. I found one of the RFCs I was looking for by simply clicking one of the hyperlinks embedded in the digital copy of the text.

This review concludes that Essential Email Standards succeeds in making highly technical email standards practical and easily accessible.

Highly recommended, especially for the beginner
This well-structured, informative book is an excellent introduction to painting with watercolors, oils, acrylics, and pastels, each of which is given its own section. Taggart begins each section by detailing the basic necessities of the medium before launching into a series of lessons to introduce the reader to a variety of techniques. The approach is balanced and honest, never narrow-minded or preachy. The many "do's and don'ts" (my words, not the author's) are practical in nature, meant to help the beginner (or experienced artist) avoid or correct specific problems. Everything -- materials, techniques, and all -- is well-documented with words and illustrations...

Premium Timeless Existential Theology
Having studied religious/philosophical discourse for decades, I was electrified intellectually and spiritually by the brilliance of existential thought in every selection in this anthology! Not for casual review or the beginning contemplative, the demand for a complex conceptual imagination, a consuming passion for Being, and plasticity of one's most cherished personal beliefs is required. This is an excellent introduction to Tillich's depth and style. Positively transforming!

Excellent for Medical Students
I just want to say that this is a great book for either studying for the antibiotic section of 1st or 2nd year pharmacology or for carrying in your pocket as a 3rd or 4th year if you are on an Infectious Disease elective. The book covers the pertinent microbiology relevent to the mechanism of action of antibiotics as well as antibiotic resistance. There is also mentioning of pertinent clinical information (i.e. routes of administrations, side effects, etc.)

Great Book!
I used this book in college. I'm not a morning person (flat out insomniac) and the instructor accepted my self-taught knowledge for exams which were given at special times - bless her heart :) Anyway, this is the book I used to learn it all and it was FANTASTIC! My copy has been MIA for a few months now and I feel completely naked without it, even if I don't have an immediate use for it at the moment. This book will go onto my wish-list right away and definitely be replaced if my original copy is not found.

Thank you Paul! My GPA in calculus was 3.8 and I only made it to ~10% of the classes. If you're a teacher or just want some excellent reading to help you understand algebra and calculus, this is THE book to get. Worth every penny, even if bought twice :)

I think it is the best Estonian - English dictionary ever written! The variety of words is wide. Although I am a native Estonian speaker, I have found many Estonian words from this dictionary which I haven't heard about. I consider the dictionary very thorough.

Great Book
This book is a great read for all ages who are interested in getting at some of life's toughest issues of today. I recommend this book for a Bible Study, especially for teenagers. Also, this is a practical book for parents read through with their teenagers to open up discussion between them and learn more about each other.
