Literature from America's many ethnic groups
I have used this book for several years as a text in Composition classes. I even used it in writing classes in Africa. It's a "multicultural" text. The wonderful choices (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama) show that no matter who you are, you can use the powerful tool of the English language to write about your own experiences. Seems obvious, but perhaps not. Great writing suggestions, too, just about a perfect book. It's too expensive, of course. But in the end, worth it. I wish they'd come out with a third edition!

Perfect for all Travellers!
I had never been to New York, when I went for a visit last week. What would I have done without this book! Paul Wasserman provides clear, short descriptions of all New York sites, restaurants, hotels, theatres, etc. The book gives great advice and ideas without strangling you to remain in a narrow line of destinations. The book gives you the freedom to enjoy the city in whatever manner suits you the best, but it serves as an anchor to put your mind at ease. It is the perfect travel guide for all visitors to New York City.

answers every query
This book is really the ultimate reference book (save for the newest 4th edition, which is forthcoming). Lighter and less expensive than "The Columbia Encyclopedia" (which is still the best single-volume encyclopedia in print), this reference guide from one of Manhattan's--and the world's--most venerable institutions is full of entries, pictures, diagrams, tables, lists, and figures on anything and everything. Read a page a day and know more than Alex Trebek (just kidding). I am always going to this book to check facts, and I am never at a loss for an answer. Whereas children will always have Arkady Leokum's classic reference, "Tell Me Why," every adult ought to put this accessible tome next to the dictionary and the thesaurus.

excellant historical perspective and research
Norris and Bockelmann turn up a winner in this insightful look at business. I have read Norris financial column for years and was always impressed with his "wordsmith" readability. The editors do not get bogged down in technical language but instead have presented a very readable work. A nice Christmas Gift idea.

The most helpful book!
I needed to do some research on Minneapolis/St. Paul since I am relocating there this spring. I have bought several books on the subject and this one is by far the most helpful book ever! The others had general overviews, but this book goes into detail! It has everything in there that anyone moving to the area could possibly need: finding a city to live in and descriptions of each, opening a bank account, finding a realtor in the area, and tips on just about everything you will need to move to the area. If I had bought this book first, I could have saved so much money by not buying the others. This is the only book I really needed! This is a great book!

Coloring book made for children and adults alike
What struck me most about this book is how wonderful it is for both children and adults. For children, it is an entertaining coloring book with lots of activity and "stuff" to fill in. For adults, the book features some great tongue in cheek drawings. My favorite page is the view of the bathrooms doors. Trust me, you have to purchasr this book and take it all in to appreciate its brilliance.

Night of the Bat
I really liked the book because it was gorey, scary, and etcitiny at the same time. It told lot's of good detail that helpp to get a clear picture. It was clear were I could under stand it all.

The best part of the book I thought was when the giant bat came down from the sky and grabed one of the workers. The giant bat ripped the workers neck open blood went all over. The canupe spelit off in to the river.

The auther had a good plot. Like when the auther gave all the details Like when the giant bat kiiled the guy and the crabs were eating him. He also did good on the setting on how they were in the jungle. It was hot and moist.

The Girl Who Loved Wild Horses
To all horse lovers I would really recommend this story to you. It is about a young girl who loves horses so much that she goes to live with them. The leader who is a giant horse who has beautiful hair and is painted even more beautifully accepts her. Then one day she is captured by her old tribe and is brought back to her parents. After a long while she grows very ill. To find out what happens you are going to have to read this story. It is very touching.
