Great Teaching Manual

I have used this book in my classroom for many years. The information is excellent and there are many wonderful activities. The activities are based on different grade levels and support the various chapters. This book can be used for students from Kindergarten through 6th grade and each grade level will get more and more out of it. The children love reading about whales, doing the activities and even becoming a giant whale themselves. This book can be an entire semester's unit.

Great Book...Better Than Many Novels!!

This was a wonderful book about the exploits of a criminal, Gerald Chapman, who lived in the early part of the 20th century and has the distinct bragging rites to being called "Public Enemy No.1". Not by the FBI, actually, but by the press.

The story is well written and reads much more like a crime novel than a work of non-fiction. It covers the life of Chapman and explores his exploits in crime. And, what exploits they were! If there was a crime available to commit, he gave it a try.

It's really a shame the book is out of print. If you can find one, buy it and enjoy!!

An excellent introduction to a new field

What is geocomputation ? To some, a revolutionary way of dealing with spatial data. To others, a collection of known tools under a new brand name. In any case, all of those which are interested in geographical information systems (GIS) will benefit enormously from reading this book, which provides a comprehensive review of this new field. All articles are interesting, but especially noteworthy is Couclelis's state-of-the-art review, with a number of interesting points about the notion of "geocomputation". Important contributions also come from Oppenshaw (he reviews his GAM and GAM/K algorithms), Anselin (exploratory data analysis), Batty (visualisation) and Burrough (dynamical modelling). In short, if you want to know what "geocomputation" is about, this is the place to start.

Excellent for the Non Geology Professional

This was my first "geology" book, and found Paul's book to be well written, interesting, humorous at times, and has singularly sparked my own interest in paleontology, geology and the Anza Borrego Desert Region. In the two years since I read this, I've devoured many other books of similar vein, looking for the pleasure that this book brought. A great read and field guide.

A intriguing look at the formation and geology of the moon.

As a lay person, I thoroughly enjoyed this volume which offers a nice balance between readable narrative and in-depth geology information. I've always enjoyed reading Dr. Spudis's papers and volumes, and this is one of my personal favorites sitting on my space science and technology shelf.

An insightful look at an amazing man

This is one of the best books I've read about French literature it really captured the heart and the spirit of Perec through the style in which the book was written. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about Georges Perec.

Excellent Book

A book worth to read again from time to time.

This book has meant much to me personally. I always suggest that people buy the book for themselves. I am so dissappointed because I did not get my book back from someone who borrowed it. However, for me it is worth it to buy another one.

This book helped me get in!

I used Dr. Jung's book as a guide and I got into one of the best medical schools in the country. Without it, I'm not sure I would have gotten in, with it, I received 7 offers from all over the country. He understands the medical education system better than anyone I've spoken with.
