One of the best books I've ever read
For anyone interested in learning more or learning for the first time about the Aztecs, this book is highly recommended. As mentioned by the other reviewer, it is filled with so many high quality art pictures and is very effective in describing the history, beliefs and rituals of this great empire. Someone stole my book, but I'm going to buy it again. It's that good.

A great little book
This a handy little book that can be taken with you anywhere, it is smaller than an average man's hand. It's an excellent source book for covering the the rise and fall of the Mexica(Aztec) civilization. The illustrations are wonderful reproductions of some of the most famous paintings of the conquest, including many from the murals of Diego Rivera. The paper is thick stock and fact filled with little commentary that is conjecture. The strength of this reference book is that it has many rarely seen pictures from an assortment of codexes and the reproductions are superb. Some are small but the quality remains so as to distinquish what you are looking at without any problem. The color in the illustrations is great and very much as the originals. Every page has at least one picture and most have numerous. It is visually stimulating to see as you read the history. Another strength of the book is that it has one third dedicated to documents. The conquest is retold, again, in a series of original documents, dating from the time period being discussed, most of which are primary documents. Anyone interested in Mexico and it's history will benefit from this book. Also anyone interested in art will enjoy the collection of illustrations throughout book. This is an excellent, little, wealth of information waiting for the student of Mexican history.

Very Good Introduction
This was a very helpful book in understanding the Aztec civilization and culture, and the spanish conquest. The illustrations are very helpful and the judgements are sparse and generally fair.

Great book!!!
I've always been a fan of Wilderness Press books and this one won't disappoint! I used this book to help plan a trip to Lost Coast (Oct '02), but had to change plans at last minute when I got to Calif. We did the Lassen Loop also described in the book and it was great. Highly recommend this book.

Maps, trailheads, elevation and campsite information
Backpacking California is a "user friendly" compenium of tips from experts gather over thirty years of backpacking experience under one cover, with seventeen authors providing keys to over sixty backpacking routes in California. Maps, trailheads, elevation and campsite information pack a guide which will prove essential for any planning a backpacking journey.

Selective, but superb
This book is a detailed survey of a good number of excellent hikes in California. While there are other books which contain many, many more locations, this book stands out because of its level of detail and vastly superior maps. Each trail description is headed up by important information, like number of days, type of route (one way, out and back, loop), elevation gain/loss (very nice), etc. The trail descriptions are written with a bent towards useful information rather than mere description. This is the only place for example, where I have seen warnings about old industrial sites with possible water pollution issues for the Lost Coast trail. It would be nice if these types of books would include an index by number of days required, so that weekend trips could be easily located. Highly recommended book for anyone interested in overnight backpacking trips in California.

The man is a genius!
F. Paul Wilson had me hooked after The Keep, and I just recently acquire this book. He is so clever and versatile, and all the stories are great. Some are supernatural, some a creepy, some are just unsettling because of its plausability, and Wilson never leaves you a way out. You get hooked and you get rocked. This man is a genius and a short story master in the tradition of Lovecraft, King, and Matheson.

Outstanding mixed genre short story collection
I have mixed feelings about this collection. On one hand, I want to applaud the design, commentary and stories Wilson has gathered in this volume. One might be tempted to use it to teach a course on writing. Wilson provides unique insight into the processes that gave birth to these tales, including even a play and teleplay. He also disperses throughout the introductions his personal experiences with the entertainment community. I think it's both insightful and fascinating. The caliber of work presented is a testament to Wilson's success as a "NY Times Best Selling Author." His selections cover a variety of genres, providing a vast supply of fuel for the reader's imagination. However, on the other hand does the average reader want all this extra material? True, they could skip that material, even the play and teleplay. Are they then getting their moneys worth? I believe they are. Fans of Wilson's Repairman Jack are sure to find THE BARRENS AND OTHERS a wickedly entertaining literary adventure. It is an exceptional collection of short prose that deserves a place on the shelf of both the leisure reader and aspiring/professional writer.

THE BARRENS is not to be missed!
Anyone who's read a word of F. Paul Wilson's has probably read everything they can get their hands on. THE BARRENS AND OTHERS should be no exception. This collection covers just a few years in the writer's life and stuns with each entry. A DAY IN THE LIFE is the consumate Repairman Jack story. FACES will thrill you more than the last dozen serial killer novels you've read. PELTS, both in story and play form, may make you gibber. Wilson has written many a short story in past several years not covered in this collection. Let's hope it's not too long before we're graced with another.

Finally, I understand
I have always been interested in fitness, having adopted the Atkins eating philosophy into my life and working out on a regular basis. With all the reading and inquiring I have done in the past 30 years, I have found nothing as informative and as easy to understand as this book. All of the usual questions -and even some I have never considered- are answered in a down-to-earth, common-sense manner that is even entertaining. I would recommend this book to anyone, no matter the level of their diet or exercise regime! I would certainly call in to his radio show if I lived in Arizona--he sounds like a fun guy!!

Outstanding!!!
Be Fit! Stay Fit! provides the reader with a no-nonsense approach to fitness and easy, yet very effective methods to make your workout extremely productive! I have been training and eating healthy for 9 years and I can only imagine how much time could have been saved and better results could've been had if this book was available when I was an amateur. A must read for the average person who is just starting a fitness/nutrition program (95% of us), or even Mr. Olympia, anybody can reap the benefits of this books content. Bottomline: If you incorporate the knowledge and advice within its pages, YOU WILL GET RESULTS!

Be Fit, Stay Fit: Why Your Workout Doesn't Work and How to
I found this book on exercise to be exactly what I was looking for. The format was easy to read and understand and I was getting useful information from the very first page. There were numerous photographs and illustrations and this made it easier for me to translate this information into an actual workout at the gym.
I have gone to the gym over the years on a fairly consistent basis but I found the Quick Set system has truly reduced my time in the gym while allowing me to obtain new levels of strength. I believe that this will be a method I can stick with for life.
I also appreciated the additional exercises and lifts that were provided as I find challenging my muscles by using different modalities helps to keep my sessions in the gym fresh and therefore I won't become bored and/or lax in my approach to my workout.
The Chapter entitled "Diet is a Four Letter Word" is perhaps my favorite because of the every day common sense approach to eating that is presented. I, myself, had given up on "fad diets" many years ago but I have never had an approach to eating put into writing that just made so much sense. The ten tips for reducing caloric intake that are given have become my new guideling for assesing how and what I am eating.
I truly would recomment this book to anyone who isn't quite sure of how to start or hasn't quite figured out where to go next with their current fitness program. Be Fit Stay Fit was fun to read and what's even better are the results I'm getting by using the suggestions given.

Holy.... is this funny.
I laughed, I cried, I laughed so hard my sides started to hurt. Like the note on the front says: if you are offened easliy, of a soft nature, don't buy this book. If you want to hear some funny stuff then buy this. I won't spoil it for you, but you will laugh so hard you will not want to put it down.

Paul was the first Maiden singer (on vinyl anyway), he does not slag Maiden or Bruce, he actually says that Bruce has a good voice. He stories about sex in bathrooms, doing so much drugs, ending up in a US prison are all here in their glory for you to read. Oh and his music is killer as well. THE BEAST LIVES!!!

Di'Anno Rules!!!
Excellent life story from the Beast himself, Paul Di'Anno. From his early days, to his Maiden days, to where he is today. Many ups and downs, fights, drugs, prison, etc. You name it, he's done it. I saw him on the Killers tour (Iron Maiden) and also with Battlezone, and now that he's banned from America, I'm praying he can sneak in some day for some tour dates!!

The Beast
I was a bit sceptical upon reading this book. Was Paul gonna thrash the all time greatest metal band Iron Maiden? Was Paul gonna let his true feelings about his replacement the great Bruce Dickinson spew forth? Well the answers to these questions were no and yes. If your looking for dirt on Steve Harris and the boys your not gonna find it here. And Paul's thoughts on Bruce? He is an excellent singer.
What you will find in this book is a story of a troubled man. It makes ya laugh and it pisses you off and even a little sympathy for the guy. But I am sure Paul would be the first to tell you he don't need your sympathy. This is Pauls way of excercising demons.
Fighting, boozing, drugs, women, smacking wives(Paul had 5 wives in his time)kicking band members in the face, diffrent musical projects, blowing all your doe,it goes on and on and on. It made for a very good read.
I was surprised to see Paul was so violent. I actually thought he was just making good fictional stories until the end were we get confirmation from friends, bandmates, and managers. These little quips are hilarious in them self.
So if your looking for dirt on Maiden. Forget it! There is none. Iron Maiden are a band that is always about the music. That is a major factor in there success. Paul didnt go into to much detail about his ousting/quitting of the band. For the bottom line was look we/I dont like want your doing and it's time to move on. That is both sides thinking,Paul and Maiden. But life after Maiden was some good reading. Good job Paul.

Exciting and tautly written
The second novel of the John Paul Jones Trilogy by Nicholas Nicastro, Between Two Fires continues the saga of America's first naval hero. An historical fiction, Between Two Fires offers the reader a riveting 18th Century odyssey of bravery, battle, tragedy, and loss on the high seas, exciting and tautly written. Also very highly recommended is the first novel of this outstanding trilogy, The Eighteenth Captain...

Provocative, Gruesome March to Nationhood
There are no easy blacks and whites in Nicholas Nicastro's wonderfully written tales of the American Revolution. Forget about the flag-waving pabulum that your ninth grade textbook passed off as American History. Nicastro portrays John Paul Jones as a Napoleonic .... who alternates his barks with his bites as the never-say-die commander of the Bonhomme Richard. The monomaniac runs many of his men and his ship into extinction while defeating the British Serapis.

The even more engrossing parallel tale in "Between Two Fires" revolves around conscience-stricken Captain Severance, who watches his Colonial comrades barbarically commit genocide against the Iroquois Nation. Nicastro takes Lechterian delight in describing the atrocities perpetrated under General Sullivan's command--officers parade around in flesh cut from the hides of Native Americans while burning and desecrating village after village. Yes the Indians do commit their share of torture, but theirs, as described by Nicastro, is a far more noble form of sadism.

Should David Lynch ever decide to direct an 18th Century war picture, this book is filled with a wonderful cache of quirky historical curiosities. A female character aboard Jones's ship dedicates her life to capturing the ideal physical traits of people she meets in her sketchbook. Her goal is to create a composite which would match the image of Jesus Christ. I won't betray the macabre manner in which she locates the preeminent nose. Joseph, the noble Native American hero aboard the Richard, has his teeth knocked out halfway through the saga and speaks the remainder in a humorous lisp. George Washington is a self-conscious poser, pretending to act as a great commander should act-- the Ronald Reagan of his day.

The book does have a few narrative flaws. Would an eighteenth century officer really write letters describing all the grotesqueries of war, not missing a morbid detail, to his bride-to-be? Would he also write extensively about his obvious attraction for a headstrong Native American woman?

But minor exceptions aside, this is a novel not to be ignored--certainly for fans of seafaring novels but more broadly for anyone hungering for sharply written historical ficition, fiction with a harsher, less propagandistic view of the era.

Book With Fire...
The worst thing about reading great trilogies is the wait. I re-read the first book, "The Eighteenth Captain", just prior to the release of "Between Two Fires"; as I often do with a much anticipated release. If you haven't read the first book...do yourself a favor and grab a copy.

"Between Two Fires" provided some of the best historical fiction writing I've had the pleasure to page-turn. You don't need to be a history, war or nautical buff to truly enjoy the well-developed, fascinating characters in Nicastro's follow-up book. He has a way of writing dialogue that makes you feel a part of the conversation...as if you might be standing next to the characters. No easy task.

This book has everything I enjoy...action, compelling characters, period atmosphere that draws me into the time, and a great story. Please get the third book out a bit quicker.

Not Perfect, but maybe the best critique currently available
As of the time of this review, this book is hot off the press and has been a book eagerly anticipated by many. And while the book is not perfect, as I will discuss below, there are a number of things about this critique that make it the best critique of open theism available at present.

Piper and company have assembled an impressive group of mainly Reformed scholars to tackle numerous issues regarding open theism. Almost every chapter is well documented, with numerous and lengthy footnotes accompanying much of the base material. There is a great deal here to ponder and study, and I suspect that many readers who are relatively familiar with the open theism controversy will be struck by the depth in which this book engages fundamental questions of hermeneutics and theological method.

I think there is little doubt that for the average reader, Parts 4 and 5 will be the best parts of the book. In these parts, various authors tackle critical theological and pastoral problems that open theism creates, and these are the kinds of issues that the average reader will most identify with and profit from I suspect. In particular, Wellum's critique of open theism's necessary compromise of the inerrancy of Scripture is outstanding, along with Ware's devastating analysis of how the gospel of Christ is gutted by open theism. The tackling of these critical theological ramifications is the part of this book that I felt was critically missing from Ware's 'God's Lesser Glory' book (which has been generally acknowledged to be the most devastating critique of open theism thus far, and was the book that really delivered the first mortal blow to open theism and got Boyd and company to play defense ever since), so in that respect, this book is an outstanding companion to that book.

The first parts of this book are great and necessary, but are likely to be sections that will take many readers by surprise. It is in these sections that attempts are made to discredit the inconsistent hermeneutic (to put it nicely) of open theism, as well as to discredit the much trumpeted assertion by open theists that historical theism is based on Greek philosophical ideas that are not found in the Bible. In addition, the section on the analogical nature of Scripture and the treatment of anthropomorphisms is likewise outstanding.

The one notable drawback of this book is that Biblical exegesis is not the thrust of this book. There are times when solid exegesis is conducted, but this book is not an exegetical critique of open theism. It's mainly a negative philosophical, methodological, and worldview critique that rightly exposes the mess that open theism is as a matter of scholarship. But someone looking for a sustained emphasis on Biblical exegesis of controversial passages, as well as a Biblical analysis of those many areas of Scripture that contradict open theism may be somewhat dissatisfied by the efforts here. There are other resources that deal with these issues, but it is the one critical area where this book lets open theism off the hook. This is unfortunate because as a result of this, this book, while perhaps the most comprehensive critique of open theism available, still ends up joining all of the other able critiques in doing serious damage to open theism, but not delivering the kind of comprehensive 'shock and awe' that it was capable of.

Nonetheless, for what this book deals with, it is outstanding and perhaps best of all, very current. The thought of Greg Boyd in particular has been in a seemingly constant state of modification and flux in recent years in his attempts to do damage control. His latest neo-molinist concoction gets a great deal of attention in this book where it is demonstrated to be a wholly inadequate solution to the problems his open theist perspective creates across the board. I highly recommend this book and believe that in many ways, it will become the book that open theists feel most compelled to respond to in light of the lucid and cogent arguments it lobs at open theism.

Expose of Aberrant Christians' Non-evangelical Philosophy
Powerful, respectful dismantling of nebulous Open Theory of Bible interpretation and aberrant Non-evangelical philosophy.

STRENGTHS:

1)Shows how sincere, misguided Christians (Open Theorists) can fall prey to Paul's warning to 'beware idle notions..and hollow,
deceptive philosophies..self-deceit via fine sounding arguments..' They depart from the Word of God and the God of the Word and the True Omniscient/Uncorrectable/Inerrant Jesus with every new Openist publication and pronouncement.

2)Establishes clear, undeniable linkage of Open Theory to Charles Hartshorne's Process Philosophy of Bible interpretation (see Hartshorne's 'Omnipotence & Other Theological Mistakes')
Such unbiblical,Process-like worldview permeates Openist filters
and lensing when doing Theology. See also Boyd's seminal Openist
book 'Trinity & Process' where he attempts a synthesis of Scripture+Hartshornism=Aberrant Hybrid Boydism (a la healthy horse+ill donkey=sterile mule).

3)Demonstrates Boyd's antipathy to his own denomination's Affirmation of Faith regarding Bible teaching of INERRANCY. Boyd is Theology Prof.at Baptist General Conference's Bethel College. BGC official doctrinal position is INERRANT BIBLE.

In Boyd's most recent book 'Across the Spectrum', he categorically denies his own denomination's position with his essay titled 'Infallibilist View'. Boyd doesn't realize the definition of INFALLIBLE is 'incapable of error in any matter'.
Boyd is teaching pastor at Woodland Hills Church. His statement of faith says, 'The Bible is Infallible'. Has anyone checked what he means by it? See his essay in 'Across the Spectrum' p.14-21 to see what Gregory Boyd really believes.

Why BGC President Jerry Sheveland and Bethel leadership maintain Boyd on clergy roster/faculty is of concern to many in BGC, who feel integrity would mean resigning in good conscience or public retraction of non-evangelical, Processist teachings that openly defy BGC church and college Affirmation of Faith.

4)Marshalling of Biblical evidence that shows how aberrant and beyond-borderline-heterodox many of Boyd's teachings are.

WEAKNESSES: minimal. These Scriptures would have been nice additions:

John 13:19 "I am telling you now before it happens so that when it does happen you will believe than I am He." Jesus has Exhaustive Definite/Divine Foreknowledge of ALL free futures. Boyd teaches Extensive Indefinite Forecasting or 'Divine Nescience (Ignorance)' along with 'Theo-Repentism' and 'Infinite Intelligence' in place of Evangelical Infinite Awareness-Knowledge-Omnipresent where/when-there/then in ALL dimensions of space-time (LxWxHxPastxPresentxFuture)

Boyd teaches there are Bible errors, using the example of "Jesus' command to his 70(sic)missionaries" about whether to take a staff on their trip. First, Boyd errs: It wasn't the 70, but the 12! Second, a fair reading of the Gospels indicates many mission assignments, each with potentially different itinerary and packing instructions. Luke 22 has Jesus telling them to pack a dagger-knife. Third, one or more accounts may be a composite of several trips while another may be a specific or representative mission. Fourth, this issue has been chewed on since before Augustine's time. Reformers and more recent scholars have put this to bed (see J.Bengel's, Calvin's and Matthew Henry's commentaries as well as Geisler's 'When Critics Ask' and John MacArthur Study Bible notes on Lk.9:3).
Fifth, Jesus was saying: 'carry only what you have with you: sandals on your feet, clothes on your back, staff in hand; don't procure/go get extras or what you don't have now.'(see Greek verbs used for 'take, acquire, procure, obtain, get).

Boyd's 'scholarship' and 'fairness' to the apparent discrepancy
is disingenuous and far from humble, to say the least. It's almost as if he can't help BUT to find errors of fact, history,
narrative rather than see the accounts as complementary or excerptive vs. passing judgment 'the three accounts do disagree and thus cannot in any literal sense be labeled inerrant.'-Spectrum p.19

Such is Boyd's aberrant view of Scripture: BEYOND THE BOUNDS of Evangelical, Essential Historic Christian Theology and contrary to his own denomination's Doctrinal Affirmation for Bethel College and all BGC churches, including Woodland Hills.

This book does an excellent (almost embarrassing expose') job of unmasking Gregory Boyd, Clark Pinnock, John Sanders and Open Theorists as: Christian? Yes. Evangelical? Sorry, no. Not if one takes their public false-teachings and books at face value.
They are certainly free to hold their beliefs. But self-proclaiming they are Evangelical and fomenting openly or subtly for 'change from within' is shown to be an empty claim and lacking integrity. Process theorists don't claim to be Evangelical. Why should Neo-processist theorists?

"By their fruit you shall know them..Test the spirits..Dear children, keep yourselves from idols..Scripture cannot be broken..do not go beyond what is written..are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God?"

Buy extra copies and give them to friends & pastors and start group studies about Who the Real Triune God and His nature and attributes are. Be prepared for Bruce Ware's forthcoming book 'God of Greater Glory' which, along with Millard Erickson's
Christian Theology, will get the Bible student closer to the Bible. Openism just gets farther and farther BEYOND THE BOUNDS.

Endorsements and Table of Contents
The downsized deity of open theism is a poor substitute for the real God of historic Christianity-as taught by Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox theologians through the centuries. This book offers an important analysis and critique of this sub-Christian view of God. Well researched and fairly presented.

Here is a weighty tract for the times, in which a dozen Reformed scholars survey the "open theism" of Pinnock, Sanders, Boyd, and colleagues, and find it a confused, confusing, and unedifying hypothesis that ought to be declared off limits. Some pages are heavy sledding, but the arguing is clear and strong, and the book is essential reading for all who are caught up in this discussion.

Review of BOHICA
Tony Bedard returns to comics in this all new monthly. The artwork is stunning and the story is solid as well. Several hundred beings from the Crossgen Universe are abducted by the Negation Empire. One character, Obregon Kaine, assumes the role of leader and uses his smarts to help himself and others escape but they are constantly on the run from the empire and must use their wits and powers to constantly elude them. The dialogue is wonderful and the part where the Kremmin appear is hysterical. If your a fan of films like The Dirty Dozen or Kelly's Heroes then this is a match made in Heaven.

I read it by mistake and I got hooked!
Because I already read probably about two-thirds of the CrossGen line, I was planning to skip "The Negation" when it came out. (Not because the CrossGen books weren't good, but just the opposite! I couldn't afford any more!) The clerk at my comic shop dropped the Prequel issue into my reserved folder by mistake, and I decided to pick it up anyway -- and got immediately hooked.

Although each CrossGen comic series stands on its own, they do take place in a shared universe with clues as to an overall pattern appearing in each title. For fans like myself, who enjoy solving the puzzle, this book and Crux are absolutely essential. All of the diverse elements and intriguing potentials of the universe come together in these books. "The Negation" is about a band of characters from the CrossGen universe -- some from worlds we have visited in the other titles, others we have not -- who are abducted by the Negation and brought to their own universe for experimentation. A few of them break out and begin themselves to piece together the mysteries CrossGen readers have pondered since the company debuted -- What are the Negation? What do they want? What is the secret of the sigils?

This is a book for any comic fan who digs science fiction, fantasy, mystery, military-style action or superheroics. In fact, the only downside to this book is that once you start reading it, you'll want to get ALL of the CrossGen titles to help you piece it together.

A great comicbook that would make a great movie!
An intriguing, scary sc-fi prison break story.

Beings for all over the galaxy have been kidnapped by an evil empire bnt on conquering their worlds. Most have amazing super-powers, but the role of leadership falls to one ordinary man.

This is the most interesting science fiction adventure I've read in years. It would make a stellar movie, as well.

A historical reproduction of the heroic life of Bonhoeffer
It's an excellent dramatization of the life of Bonhoeffer. I'd never heard of him until I heard this drama. It's historical, and masterfully done by the crew at Radio Theater and Focus on the Family. Definitely worth listening to.

For the parents: I'd definitely suggest you listen along with younger children...in the beginning as a precursor to the drama, and then in the end, in the actual drama, Bonhoeffer is led to the execution, read his sentence, and then, as you hear Dietrich's panicked breathing, the trapdoor falls, the rope goes taunt, and you can hear the weight of a body swinging back and forth from the gallows. An intense scene for youngsters. But history is history, and that's what happened.

Very dramatic, very worth listening to.

Just Like the Best of the Radio Era !
No doubt this outstanding drama has brought the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer at least as much attention as all of his books have combined. This excellent radio drama won the Peabody Award for good reason: it is an incredible radio play of the highest quality. From start to finish, this amazing work has all the essential elements of good fiction- - but it is historically true ! Drama, suspense, action, intrigue, romance, sacrifice, faith, and hope for the future all shine brightly in this stirring performance of a man who fought against the Nazi Machine. This unique and fresh look at the life of a German who plotted against Adolph Hitler "from the inside" needs to be heard by anyone with an interest in history. So many of the history books today tells us that Christians did nothing to help the Jews against the Nazi machine. This fine drama dispells this mistaken belief with a sincere dignity and open appeal that is both inspiring and enriching. Definitely a "must listen to" for any high school or college history student.

An excellent dramatization of an excellent life
Dietrich Bonhöffer was a man who found that he had to choose between his conscience and convenience. That he is a true hero is proven by his choice.

At at time when most of the German church knuckled under Nazi threats and stayed silent or even acted in complicity with the Holocaust, he courageously joined the Confessing Church to oppose Nazism, and later pretended to cooperate with the Nazis so that he could help smuggle Jews to safety.

Bonhöffer's courageous struggle against a storm of religious intolerance and racial hatred maintains its relevance today.

This is an excellent audio dramatization of his life. Both exciting and inspiring, it captures the drama and conviction of this man's life.

It also won the prestigious Peabody Award in 1997. (This award recognizes distinguished achievement and meritorious public service by radio and television networks, stations, producing organizations, cable television organizations and individuals and is administered by the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.)

The Best Horror Fiction Out There
I have read all four of the Borderlands collection and will say beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is not only the scariest stuff out there, but also cutting-edge fiction at its finest.

The stories presented in each collection are intelligent, extremely well-written, and creepy to the extreme. Those who enjoy the standard psychopathic killer yarn will not find what they're looking for here. Instead they'll find a type of horror that takes a time-honored genre and breathes new life into it. Simply outstanding.

Great
Joe R. Landsdale, the master, does it again. It takes brilliance to know brilliance. These people can write. Some of these stories actually made me physically uncomfortable. Try to get it if you can.

The best dark horror anthology in years.
The "Borderlands" Series is the best dark fiction writing I have ever read. Really skirts the edges and pulls no punches but without the traditional horror cliches. Nothing goes bump in the night but after reading these stories a simple bump won't even phase you anymore.
