I knew Paul Spencer Sochaczewksi in another life and his ability (unknown to me until now) to communicate ecological concerns in a thrilling and interesting book is beyond belief. A highly recommended read for both supporters and sceptics of what ecological issues mean to all of us.

Like the rich rain forest fauna, the author casts a diverse and well-conceived band of characters into this engaging battle of eco-ideals, corporate greed and political corruption--rainforest natives turned eco-guerillas by an elusive but charismatic Robin Hood figure from Switzerland; a feisty and passionate primate specialist scrambling to complete her research on the mating patterns of orangutans while trying to barter time from government officials; a doctoral student who has developed sign language communication with orangutans in the hope of shedding light on the causes of autism in children; a government administrator who is bedfellow to loggers and conservationists alike; and, of course, the "redheads" of the title, those charming and magical creatures whose needs and desires blur the distinction between human and ape.

This is a must read for anyone who cares about the natural world and our place in it.

I've always wondered how the environmental movement really works, and I know a lot more about now than I did before. In Redheads, Paul Sochaczewski does a great of being both informative and entertaining, and he tells a great story to boot. Redheads is well worth its modest cost, and the time invested in reading it is time very well spent.

The tales put out by Red Sage are cutting edge steamy, and all are very good. However, most fade from memory as soon as I put them down. Not so with Angela Knight. Everyone one of her tales alone are enough to make you buy the book. But in Roarke's Prisoner WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is best one!!!

WHY this is not made into a movie I have no idea!!

It is a SCi-FI tale that is about some of the best reading I have seen anywhere!! He is the Captain of a rebel ship, and she is on the other side. They have a 'close encounter' before, she got away. This time he intend to keep his prisoner - for more reasons than one!! This is one of those tales that will stick in your mind for decades to come.

The other stories in Secrets II were also good, but ROARKE'S
PRISIONER, by Angela Knight, is OUTSTANDING!!!!! It features two star ship captains battling it out in space as well as in the bed room. If you are a SCI FI fan like me, you are really going to love it because it is like watching an episode of STAR TREK VOYAGER, a male captain of one federation vs. a female captain of another federation. He got a brief taste of her in one planet, she got away, and he goes nuts hunting her & her ship down for a year in order to capture her!!!!! Oh, and if you think the story is good, the love scenes are just as hot, Read the book, I highly recommend it.

I have loved all the Secrets anthologies but especially the ones with stories by Angela Knight. She has another great one here called "Roarke's Prisoner" A wonderful futurisitc love story with a very sexy hero and strong smart heroine.

I have read many screenwriting books and this is the most complete. It takes you by the hand through each step of the process. I would recommend it to anyone interested in screenwriting. The book even states that if you follow the steps in the 12 chapters it should take you 120 hours and would be equivelent to a college course. No need for any other training. This book is it!

When ordering several books on screenwriting this book caught my eye because of the high ratings afforded it by others. After reading it I fully concur with what others had to say. I went out and purchased DVDs of the four main example films (The Verdict, Terminator, Sleepless in Seattle, and Witness) that Mr. Lucey focuses on and they allowed me to pick up the fine points described in the text. His vast experience in script writing shows through in each of the topics discussed. I can not recommend this book highly enough. For a detail-oriented individual such as myself, this book met all my expectations. If you are interested in this topic, this book is a "must have" by all means.

Quite simply, this is the best practical guide to screenwriting I have ever read. Not only does Lucey have the right ideas, his skill and experience as a teacher shine through in everything from the structure of his chapters to the dozens of useful exercises. The sections on story ideas and story structure are incredibly good, helping you to choose, hone and develop usable story concepts and forcing you to ditch those that aren't. Lucey backs up his lessons with plenty of practical examples, a great glossary and an excellent bibliography - and unlike many screenwriting texts, this one is well-referenced and researched. If you're serious about screenwriting, buy this book.

I am the author of the original Ultimate Adventure Sourcebook. A new edition from National Geographic Books is in production and will be released in mid-2000. It will contain most of the features of the first edition, together with up-to-date web site listings and many, many new adventures, from bungee-jumping to family vacations.

this book brings excitement into my life each time I look at it. I use it for ideas about what adventures might interest me, as well as, for specific outfitters. I like the reviews and grading system of the outfitters. I also appreciate the inclusion of price expectations. It was published in 1992 so it is getting dated but still very useful. I logged on hoping for the revised edition only to find that it doesn't exist.

Please, please come out with an updated edition! This book is THE place to look before you plan any type of activity. I used it to get information before going skydiving, ballooning and snowmobiling. Unfortunately the book's data is getting old. We need updates!

Prof. Frymer has written a book that many different audiences will find useful. Political scientists will appreciate his skill in demonstrating a counter-intuitive, and yet ultimately convincing, account of race and party politics. Those from other academic fields will be grateful for Frymer's decision to eschew political science jargon, and will find that the book makes contributions to our understanding of history and law. Finally, non-academics will find the book both accessible and informative. I highly recommend "Uneasy Alliances."

This is one of the best books I've read on race in America. It shows why racism persists, and how our political leaders collude in its persistence. It takes on conventional wisdom among intellectuals and political leaders, and it does so in a way that is accessible to an average reader. I can't praise it too highly.

This book is a masterful combination of historical research and party analysis that will reshape the way we think of political parties. Frymer argues convincingly that party institutions have generally sought to marginalize the issue of racial injustice in American politics. A major contribution to the literature from a young scholar and excellent teacher.

I've known of the great "Paul Mather" for quite some time. I've seen the statues erected in his honour down at the mall, but I never felt I knew "the man" behind "the columns"... that is, until now. This searing forray into the mind of the person Times Magazine called "The Most Angular Mind" of the 21st century is both ludicrous and pheromatic. Bravo professor wackypants! Bravo.

Funny funny funny. I've been reading Paul's weekly atricles for several years now and to have the creme de la creme all in one low priced and attractive compilation is, um, good.

I dunno - perhaps my favorite article was one I actually hadn't read before about Canada's governor general award for literature. A close second was the one where his bike got stolen by a high tech crime gang with "elevator stalling ray guns". Or the one about the Celts. Ha! Well, this could go on and on and by the time I'd finished I'd simply have listed most of the articles in his book. Suffice it to say that this is among the funniest stuff I'm ever read!

What can I say? Go Paul, go! Keep being funny.

This book is a beautiful combination of humor and insanity. It is like if George Carlin met God. Very funny, and so off the wall you will find yourself naked in an alley on the lower east side. BUY THIS BOOK. I did, and look where it got me.

Those who have experienced the conclusion of the "Novacom Saga" recently have heard Adventures in Odyssey at it's best, but if absolute pure suspence is what you want, then I recommend this series. It has been building for a long time, every so often Dr. Regis Blackgaard would appear on the horizon, dark and sinister, first in Odyssey with his own "amusement house" for kids (and a nefarious effort to steal a top secret computer program from Mr. Whittaker-thwarted by Richard Maxwell who makes another appearance in this album)and then in Chicago where he actually kidnapped Connie, and finally in "A Name Not a Number" when he returned to Odyssey.

This album presents the climax of his plans, and there are enough twists and turns to leave you breathless for weeks...and the amount of depth is breathtaking, with the story functioning on several levels, from Eugene's own personal struggles, to the Tom Riley-Richard Maxwell problem, to the conflict of Jason and Jack over "The Isrealits".not to mention the recall! The web gets ever wider. So buy this album and immerse yourself in a story that is both very complicated, and at the same time, equally compelling. You won't be dissapointed!

Episodes on this miniseries include A little credit please, Small fires little pools, Angels unaware, gathering thunder, moving targets, hard losses, the return, the time has come, checkmate, another chance, the last resort and the final conflict. This is a very exciting series with each episode ending on a cliff hanger. It was very hard to stop listening to do other things. An excellent buy for children and adults alike.

These tapes are full of reunions from MR Glossman to Richard maxwell to DR.Blagerd. it also includes Eugene becuming a christian. It's the best hands down

The Baker is a rich, complex yet simple story of family love and the complexities of inter-racial as well as cross-cultural relationships. There are so many elements and relationships to think about...the son and his search for a nurtuting mother, the black friend/employee's place in the Bakers and his own family....a look at family business....crime, father-son love....and much more. It's so refreshing to read about characters thought processes while grapling with so many plot intricacies....Wonderful and memorable, thanks Paul Hond... please write more!!

Who amongst us has not bitten into a fresh loaf of well-baked bread - just bread- and not known what bliss is? In a neighborhood of halfed baked, over stylized, designer designed commercial publishing "doughs", The Baker is a standout. Rising like a "well-needed" examination of urban life with all its racial implications scattered like kimmel (seeds)between the slices, The Baker is utterly satisfying and totally filling. Thank you Paul Hond for enriching all my senses, and especially my appetite for good books.-

Hond's book has a profundity seldom found in fiction today. Racial and class conflict are illuminated brilliantly and sympathetically. The descriptions of the inner city, of suburban middle America, of the old French bakery, are vivid and fascinating. The characters likewise attain a lifelike status: at times, the reader feels as though they are real people she/he might know. This is most true of the title role, Mickey Lerner, trapped between the past and the future, as well as his son Benjamin, caught between Gen-X-dom, cold capitalistic ambition, and the child needing to be loved. Nelson is a little more of a type, the boy-trying-to-escape-the-ghetto. Though there are points where the story seems to lag, the plotting is superb overall; subplot is used to good effect. Hond's prose flows like poetry!

This is a book that is well written, with each chapter drawing the reader further into to the story. The plot is such that the book is hard to put down until the end is revealed. The characters are described so vividly that I felt like I have always known them. The ending of the book is a total surprise, culminating with such drama that is rare in books written today.

Exciting, very fast paced and not a boring moment. The story is filled with suspense and you won't be able to put it down. If you're looking for a great book, this one will not disappoint you. Loved the surprise ending! Can't wait for more from this author.

I just finished reading the book, I spent the last 3 hours finishing it... I started it about 5 days ago and I could not put it down... It was exciting from begining to end... It has a surprise ending that I did not see coming... I am not an avid reader but I puchased the book through a friend and it was worth every penny... The characters in the book were very good, they really keep my interest throughout the book... As I was reading the book I could imagine it as a movie, it reads that well... I wish the author good luck and hope it can on to a movie someday... I can not wait for his second novel to come out, hopefully it will be soon...

I suppose the easiest way to get kids to read this book would be to forbid them to, then they would steal it if they had to. All joking aside, Mary Beth's style is fresh and easy to understand. She never talks down to her intended audience. She almost seems like a cool aunt that you could talk to about anything. I myself am a 30 yrold woman who converted to the Catholic faith last year. I'm often asked about my conversion and I will tell you this: The Catholic Church was about the only Church willing to stand by the moral teachings of our Lord and not back down despite a ton of pressure from society. That impressed me and I knew I had to learn more. Even though I'm a little older than her usual audience, I read both of her books and plan to by more copies to give to teens in my area. I think that it's about time that we take back our schools and children and teach them what they need to know about what God really wants for their lives. Who knows? With a lot of prayer and a lot of action perhaps we could overturn Roe vs Wade AND bring prayer back to public school.

I bought this book for my teenagers but I couldn't read it fast enough myself. We all loved it! Bonacci writes clearly and her examples are relevant and interesting. She explains church teaching with authority but without being offensive to youth who are questioning. I have used this book to teach religious education in my parish for seventh graders. It does a great job of expanding topics in our text and for providing a tool for students to discuss important and sensitive issues with their parents. I have heard only positive comments about the book from the families I work with.

I'm in my late 20's, a revert to the Catholic Church after years of exploring other religions and dealing with questions and doubts. If someone had given me a copy of Mary Beth's book, I believe it would have helped me to return a lot sooner, and I might not have left in the first place. She explains what's really important and valuable about our faith, in a relevant, simple way.

Highly recommended! (_Real Love_ is also excellent, but read this one first.)
