Basic Histopathology: A Colour Atlas and Text
Published in Paperback by Churchill Livingstone (October, 1985)

Almost perfect
an essential accessory for the novice student who desperately needs a way to "put things in order" on what seems like an enormous load of details in pathology courses. The illustrations are excellent, yet do not skip the text, for although it is inadequate as a comprehensive review of the subject, it's brief simplicity helps you cope with the broad spectrum presented in the textbooks.

Great examples of practical problems.
This book is a great resource for beginning students to understand how math is applied. We are using certain components of this book to use in the Laser and Semiconductor classes that we teach. Student gain a large part of what they should learn by the examples. The suggestion on what to do to implove this book would be to increase the examples on how the math and physics are used.

A Good Placeholder Between Long Halloween and Dark Victory
As the title suggests, this story takes place during the second year of Batman's crimefighting career. At the start of the story, Jim Gordon has recently been elected Commissioner and the mobs that had such a large foothold in Year One and Long Halloween are ancient history. Batman's adversary this time around is the ghostly masked vigilante called the Reaper. He started out with motives similar to Batman, but he has now become a psychotic killer. The guy that killed Batman's parents is also back, the mob has hired him to take Reaper out. This answers two questions common asked by freshman Bat-fans: Why doesn't Batman use a gun, and why has he taken an oath to never kill anyone. And it sort of answers the question, why does he seem to avoid serious relationships with women. As a special bonus, we have artwork by Spawn creator Todd McFarlane. My only gripe is that NONE of the traditional enemies appear. Two-Face or Catwoman could've easily have made a supporting appearance. All in all, a good read, and when combined with Y1 and TLH, fits into the larger tapestry of Batman's earlier years, taking place after TLH but before it's forthcoming followup, Dark Victory.

Intresting book!
This is a really neat book for those Canadians- and Americans too! Pierre Burton retells the battle of Lake Erie in an interesting, exciting way, from both sides point of view. Definetly a good book for first time Burton readers

Colorado's The Place
I am a teacher and I had to teach a history class to my students on Colorado History. I went to the Library and picked up the book Beauty of Colorado. It has so many interesting facts about Colorado and beautiful pictures that I decided I wanted to buy the book for the school library. I liked the book because it was so infomative and had many facts about Colorado. Also the pictures were nice size and full color. It covered the mountains, parks, plains, some history, people and places of Colorado. It is a short book of 79 pages but out of that I got several days Colorado History lessons from it. If you were considering moving to Colorado or wanted to know where to visit, this book would be a good one to buy.

Excellent synopsis of the background of the New Testament
Barnett's book is an easy and enjoyable-to-read text on a subject that could easily become dry and uninteresting. Well-written and thought provoking, Barnett has done a good job of helping the reader come into the historical situation of first-century Jews and Jesus. He gives insightful commentary and well documented evidence of the atrocious behavior of King Herod, known in the Gospels as the killer of the Bethlehem infants. After reading Barnett's analysis one realizes Herod was totally capable of such a travesty. He also gives a good background to the parables of Christ, showing how Jesus' choice of topics blended well with the his small-town rural background.

Well done and I think, a quick read. Should be helpful to anyone wanting to understand the historical background of the New Testament more fully.

A boy imprisoned by the Nazis nonetheless believes in love
Originally published in Denmark, this new English-language edition, lyrically translated by Aron and Alex Auswaks, wonderfully captures a boy's emergence into manhood in the midst of a world apparently gone mad. It is the story of one young man's effort to come to grips with his history, his ethnicity, and his place in the grand but indecipherable scheme of things, a story about what it means to be hated for reasons one can't understand, about what it means not solely to survive, but to survive as someone determined to love.

Essential but dated
Ingmar Bergman fans should all get to know this book. It's a series of interviews done in the late 1960s, in which he discusses his entire career in relevant but not excruciating detail. My local art house cinema just put on a big Bergman retrospective, and it was fun to be able to see the films and then read the director's comments on them. The photos are nice too; they include such famous sequences as the first dream from "Wild Strawberries" and the opening of "Persona."

I have a couple of small objections. First, the book stops in 1970 (not that big a problem, as most of his really good films were made before that date). Second, there are some issues I wish he'd covered in more detail; sometimes the journalists direct the conversation too much. But these are minor flaws in an essential book on one of cinema's great directors.
