interesting
This collection of unfinished stories was very interesting. It's very cool to know these unfinished tales. This product is not quite as good as the original Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer novels but is defenately a good collection. Some of the stories aren't as good as others but there are several that are very good.

Useful to an Extent
This book is extremely useful only if you have some basic knowledge of where you are going. There are too many versions and parts of street names. To obtain truly useable directions, you must have some idea of the location of where you are attempting to go.

Where's the index???
This book is a great tool for better understanding Lehmann. After several weeks of slogging through Ethics in a Christian Context, I was relieved to find this book. However, I was really disappointed to find that it did not have a topical index. I had to search all through the book for things I was trying to look up. I happen to know that an index was written, I just don't know what happened to it. But I would definitely recommend this book if the concepts of humanization and koinonia are confusing you.

A hundred movements for a fan
Published in Unknown Binding by Quartet Books ()
Author: Paul Claudel
Amazon base price: $
Used price: $6.31
Average review score:

A fascinating experiment and interesting poetry
This volume contains "occidental ideograms", Claudel's fusion of haiku and Western sensibilities, printed in three columns - ideogram, "title" and short poem/phrase. Claudel has utilized unusual placement of words and splitting of words in ways that emphasis particular letters/sounds. There are two poems to a page, French and English pages facing each other. The poems are not haiku nor are they Zen Buddhist. However, they are generally grounded in concrete observation with a contemplative bent. The result is much more exquisite than most Western haiku.

Some focus on mental activity, for example: "The peony / and this flush/ in us/ that precedes / thought" Note that a significant portion of the poem is lost when separated from the ideogram and spacing of the original.

Some focus on nature with human reminents: "In the forest / on an abandoned / grave / a white / lantern".

This is an excellent cross-cultural literary work well worth the readers' time.

thinking about hypertext
Although somewhat dated, Landow and Delany's collection of essays brings together early work (1980s) by scholars interested in thinking about the implications of hypertext within the humanities. Terence Harpold's "Threnody: Psychoanalytic Digressions on the Subject of Hypertext" is widely referenced. While arguably over-invested in poststructuralist literary theory at the expense of visual cultural studies, this volume cannot be ignore by serious students of hypermedia. Landow and Delany's opening essay is particularly valuable for its summarizing of what was then current thought on hypertext as an expressive form.

Delightful
The poems in this book are meant to be read aloud by two different people. Each person reads one of the two columns aloud and lines written on the same line are said simultaneously. This volume contains poems about birds.

My 9 year old son, who doesn't like to read out loud, loves to say these poems with me. It takes a couple of readings to get the cadence right, so this becomes a wonderful way to work on diction while having a tremendous amount of fun.
