Inspiring Our Grandchildren

We happened to buy 4 of these for our grandchildren going off to college as we wanted something different from another pen and pencil set. We listened to one first and oh how we wished we had these CD's when our own chldren left for college. Mr Vaughn says all the things that parent's would like to say, but don't dare, because we don't want to upset or alienate our kids. Amazing to us, all of them wrote us thank-you notes saying how much they had "picked up" even though they hadn't listened to them until well into the semester. We are now planning to give them as High School graduation gifts to our friend's children. Thank you Mr Vaughn!

The best reference for beginner writers I have ever read.

This book tells a beginner in plain language how to begin, how to write, how to end, and what you have to do to sell your book. The author is a successful writer who has also been a publisher. He leads the reader through the techniques and processes of the creative process, using examples and illustrations from published works by authors who have been successful in the past, including works by other how-to-write authors. The book can also serve as an excellent tutorial for experienced writers.

A totally delightful book.

This is an absolutely delightful book about how humans speak. It talks about the anatomy and physiology of speech, place and manner of articulation (without ever mentioning those, or any other, technical terms), and discusses why children learning language don't get all sounds right immediately. If you're a linguist, speech therapist, or anything similar, and you have kids, you REALLY want this book.
