Love this Pocket Ref for Amb Care
This is a handy book to have for clinical rotations. Sure the PDA is great too but this gives you a little snapshot of the most likely things you will see in ambulatory care.

Very Helpful
Very helpful, quick reference to almost every primary care scenario.

A very useful pocketbook. A must have!
This small but wonderful book is very useful. Packed full of facts, recommendations, dosages and treatment parameters. No matter if you're a med student, resident, PA, NP OB doc or a primary care provider, if you practice woman's health this is the best 12 bucks you will spend this year. Guaranteed!

I love the Current CLinical Strategies series but this is my favorite.

This book is EXCELLENT!
I am an OB/GYN resident and I have had the third edition of this book since medical school. I use it more than the advanced residents handbook. This book gives you the basics, exactly what you need, when you need it, labs, orders, etc. Its a must have for every medical student thinking about OB/GYN. If you're crazy enough to go that route.

A must for anyone engaged in the cyber culture!
This is a cool book. As a cybergeek myself, I could relate to evrything in it. I'm buying some copies for my cybergeek friends. It's way funny!

Great gift for the computer lover
Full of computer-humor that only serious computer users would get. Also, some "lifestyle" humor that identifies us computer users as cool-hipsters and NOT nerds. Computer-users are not geeks!

Daily Life in the Middle Ages: By Paul B. Newman

A Fascinating Read
This author has accomplished quite a feat by taking what could be extraordinarily dry material and masterfully crafting a very interesting book. Rarely do you find a scholarly work of this caliber that you can read simply for pleasure. Mr. Newman debunks all of the supposed truisms about the Middle Ages to put the era in its proper perspective in history. This is a marvelous, considered, detailed accounting of what life was really like in those times, and it was not nearly so dreary as you have been told. This thought-provoking book is a must-read. You won't want to put it down.

very nice
"Daily Life in the Middle Ages" provides and excellent look at life, food, cleanliness, warfare and other aspects of the period. It is at the same time very accessible to the lay-reader such as me. After reading about the development of armor, the reader will look at "Braveheart" a little differently. The style is informative, but neither dusty nor without humor. Higly recommend.

A Radiant Expression of Reverence
This book is a beautiful radiant expression of love for God and for humanity. As a poet myself, the mystical beauty of this book sometimes left me near tears. It has a pristine economy of just the right words, the meeting of one sparkling territory with another, and a sense of hallowed silence, ultimate tenderness and sheer exuberance. I especially like how the author blends different faith paths and both ancient and contemporary literature, in a prose poem which turns on several compelling spiritual questions asked in different ways, with a humble simplicity and linguistic grace.

I very much hope the publisher will reissue this lovely little but powerful book...

A Transcendent Christian Poem
This is an extraordinary little book that is a true poem of a pure heart seeking to know God. It is written out of the contemplative Christian tradition, but is always moving beyond the necessary limits of this symbolism into the quiet, transcendent mystery that is prior to all religions. It is a spiritual gem.

Ditto the last comments. Highly visionary.
I'm shocked these books are out of print. I totally enjoyed them and I think I read every one. This book especially was practically prophetic from the standpoint of what the military is currently working on. Consider the year written, and it is quite remarkable.

I would highly recommend this book for young kids interested in imaginative inventions. "Creative inventors", so to speak.

I think this might be my favorite Danny Dunn book.
Danny, loooooooong preceeding "Neuromancer", dons a helmet and gloves which give him sensations from an outside source--in this case, a mechanical dragonfly. He uses this technology to his own ends, of course. Prescient sci-fi from the team of Williams and Abraskin.

Absolutely Comprehensive
This is one of the best organized handbooks that I have run across for telecommunication and IT specialists. It has everything that you would ever need at your fingertips. It covers everything from POTS to broadband, and even delves into video communications. Formulas? This handbook has 'em.... Charts? They're in there... Need to know the exact bandwidth of an OC-192 line? It's just a flip away. Pinouts? It even had a hard to find pinout for a 6MMJ... I looked everywhere for that pinout!

No self-respecting IT or COMM specialist should go anywhere without this in their back pocket... It's only 20bux to boot!

I know I sound like a commercial, but I was THAT impressed with this handbook. I normally never write reviews. This handbook warranted it. It's definately going to make the IT or COMM specialist more productive, as it will save a TON of time in research.

Kudos to Paul Rosenburg, et. al.

Handy feild guide
This book is a handy feild guide for all communications techs. A must have for all new hires.

Courtship is the Christian replacement for dating!!! Great !
This book says everything my husband and I agree with after our "dating" times when we were younger. Since then we have become Christians with our own children. I'm so glad there is a better way to meet your mate than the worlds dating game.

A must for all single or dating people!!!!!
This is an awesome book with marvelous principles clearly set forth for all people, especially those claiming to be children of God. After reading this book I understood what was truly wrong with the typical dating scene. We have purchased this book by the case to give to all that are willing to read it. I learned so many powerful principles, that I praise God that he gave me the opportunity to find this book before I had to go thru the heartache of breakup. Paul emphasises true family values and encourages communication between youg people and their parents. This is a must read for all parents with children, of any age! And for all those single people out there, if you care about your well being, and want to learn the proper way to find that significant other, don't hesitate another moment in getting this book. And to any teens out there read this before you mess your life up and damage yourself by following the typical pattern of falling "in love" and breaking up! I will end my sermon now!!! :-) (After 18 years with mom it rubs off!!!

Dead Heat: Globilization and Global Warming

Compelling and feasible argument for climate justice
Much of the debate about climate change (global warming) has focused on short-term details about the structure of any international treaty and the near-term rate of change in emissions. Athanasiou and Baer perform a great service by bringing the larger questions of the long-term severity of the climate problem and the potential massively unequal consequences of climate change for people of different wealth levels.

Grounding their argument in the well-accepted science of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the authors describe in clear language the imperative to dramatically reduce global greenhouse gas emissions over the next 50 years. Importantly, they endorse the current ideas about international emissions trading as a low-cost way to achieve these cuts, but they then lay out an ethically grounded argument for ensuring that this trading is structured in a fair and equitable way--both for people in poorer countries and for people in future generations. Moreover, they are careful to defend the political viability of their proposed solutions.

Written in direct and comprehensible language, Dead Heat is a forceful call for more serious action to address the social and environmental consequences of climate change and climate change policy.

Another great book from AK Press
This book explains both the science of global warming and the political reasons why governments have not acted to reverse it.
