Field Guide to Wilderness Medicine
This is an excellent condensed version of the full text. It is the only medical field guide I have found that is written for a medical doctor instead of an EMT or paramedic in an austere environment. I am a physician in a military special operations unit and carry it on all deployments, whether in the U.S. or other countries. It is the perfect size to carry with my field gear and trauma pack, and is quick, easy to use, and reccommends very up to date and rapid treatment plans. A must have for all medical professionals practicing in the pre-hospital environment! For medical professionals going to remote locations that are limited by what they can carry on their back, very few texts/guides can be brought along. The solution to this limitation is simple; pack your Sanford, your Pharmacoepia, and THIS BOOK. It is the best text for it's size and weight available.

Excellent condensed version of Auerbach's original text
If you consider Auerbach's Wilderness Medicine text to be "The Bible of Outdoor Medicine," then this will be a welcomed addition to your reference library. The fieldguide takes many of the most important topics from the original text(such as high altitude emergencies, envenomations, and trauma management) and paraphrases them just enough to be of benefit to both the weekend outdoor warrior and the expedition medic. I particularly was interested in the various ways to utilize common outdoor gear and improvise traction devices for orthopedic injuries. This book is also great in that it is small enough to fit comfortably in your backpack or glove compartment, readily accessable when needed. I highly recommend adding this book to your home or office library.

I loved this book. i Have one of the original copies that I happened to stubmle across at a library book sell. I loved it so much that I've recomended it to my friends and given it as a gift. Whether you're interested in drama or not the plays in here are hilarious.I especially recommend Impromptu. YOu will get a kick out of winifred's snide comments. Not too mention the famous one act plays of The Man WHo Died at TWelve Oclock and THe Devil and Daniel webster are in here. It is a must read for anyone who appreciates theater and/or the antics of life.

Lisanti Does It Again!
The author's obvious love for his subject matter makes his newest work another delight for movie buffs! His coverage his thorough, his narrative amusing and oh, the wonderful photos! Whether it's Rebel Chick Nancy Sinatra, the [rear]-kicking Emma Peel in the form of Dame Diana Rigg, the staggering beauty of blonde Carol Lynley (betcha didn't even realize she WAS a spy chick!) or the camp factor of Agent 99, there is something in here for every fan! Plenty of "Where Are They Now?" information, too. SO much to have on your coffee table!

Must have book for spy film fans!
If you are a fan of spy movies - James Bond and all - then you need to get this book. It is full of exciting interviews and profiles of all the women in these films. It is a great read and a fun reference. It is also full of some great photos. I really enjoyed it.

A practical career guide offering personal style surveys
Now in a newly revised and updated edition for the twenty-first century, Finding Your Perfect Work by Paul Edwards and Sarah Edwards is a practical career guide offering personal style surveys, information about degree requirements, an alphabetical directory of self-employment careers, and much, much more. A handy, easy-to-use resource for finding a path in life that one enjoys most, Finding Your Perfect Work is a welcome and recommended addition to personal, job center, and career counseling reference collections and reading lists.

The most in-depth work at home book I have read
As a business consultant for home based business start-ups and self-employment I've found "Finding Your Perfect Work" a most valuable tool. In reading it I found that it goes in-depth into self-exploration which is something a lot of people need to do before attempting to start a business. I also found this book to be an asset in using "real" people as examples. I think we all want to hear about the person who's made it the hard way once in a while. It makes the journey for us that much more realistic. The way the book was divided up into areas such as the Directory of Self-Employment Careers by Personal Style is very helpful and easy to use. When using this book in a workshop, I found that my clients really had to "work" at finding out what they're best suited for...and they all agreed it was worth going through that work. The work sheets provide not only an area for people to get the thought process moving but I feel it also makes them more accountable for what they are doing. I've discovered this book is also a valuable resource for my business along with being a tool in which I can expand and improve my own business. I highly recommend this book to all who are considering going into business for themselves.

The First Snap-Fit Handbook: Creating Attachments for Plastics Parts
Published in Hardcover by Hanser Gardner Publications (May, 2000)
Author: Paul R. Bonenberger
Amazon base price: $89.95
Average review score:

The pratical methodology for snap-fit mechanism design
Unlike most of the design reference book, this one gives design engineers very good logical ways, i.e. design methodology, for snap-fit mechanism design. It will avoid the mistakes a young engineer might make, and the writer also provides several very good examples to guide experienced engineers' creativity.

Great plastic snap-fit design guideline
This book is a very good reference for designing plastic snap-fit features. It discusses snap fit mechanisms, locators, locating schemes and overconstraints, design-for-assembly, and the snap-fit function from the end user point-of-view. It includes formula for calculating all of the important functions I wanted to predict in a design. It goes through a logical design sequence to create a snap-fit design that works in your particular application and identifies what you should and should NOT do. Some things were trivial for plastic design, others were not obvious and had not occurred to the design teams in which I have participated.

After reading this book I immediately recognized poor snap-fit designs on products I have worked with for years. A mechanical analysis of an optimized snap-fit based on this book showed how these concepts would have helped tremendously in the initial product design phase. I will certainly use this book in all my future snap-fit designs.

A Humorous, Touching Story
This is a lovely, delightful little story with gorgeous illustrations. The moral is one to be discussed with your child - that if you were like "everyone else" you would lose what makes you special. A must read for every child!

Great fun to share!
This is a great story to share and read aloud. The rhyme scheme flows easily, and the illustrations are just as silly as the text. The kids in my storyhour have loved it as well as the adults. Boy, that is one foolish fish!

I are Paul's 'Old Guy'! Great book on a difficult subject.
I am still amazed that Q was able to write such a readable and hillarious book about a trip that turned into a disaster. Only an author blessed with superior skills and humour could pull it off, but he did and 'in spades!' As Q's 'Old Guy' I am putting the finishing touches on a sequel to his book, Fishing With Paul Quarrington by His Old Guy. It delves further into our fishing and casting lives together since we met fifteen years ago and includes Paul's second trip to the Broadback, this time to my territory and with superb fishing.

I are the 'Old Guy'. Great book on a difficult subject!
I talked Paul into making this trip with us. We had fished and worked on his angling skills for over ten years and I felt he was ready to go affter the 'Big One'. Howeverr it was not to be. We ran into just about the worst conditions that anybody could imagine and due to circumstances were unable to go to the Deval territory, one with which I was familiar. I didn't think it was possible for anybody to construct a readable tale as a result of this venture, but Paulie not only pulled it off, but wrote his 'Old Guy' book with all the flair and humour that only a superb author could. I am just putting the finishing touches on a sequel to his wonderful account of that mis-adventure, 'Fishing With Paul Quarrington by His Old Guy'. It fills in the holes that 'Q' left out and includes his next trip with us, this time into my territory and with superb fishing.

Flint's Law
Published in Paperback by Onyx Books (August, 2003)
Author: Paul Eddy
Amazon base price: $7.99
Average review score:

Mandrake - four and half stars
"Mandrake" (I use the UK title of this book.) is a couple notches better than "Flint". While that was sometimes very confusing, with all the flitting back from past to present, and all the to-ing and fro-ing of the various fraudulent monies, and lots and lots of characters who all seem to meld into one. This one is far better.

It's still confusing, at times, but not nearly as much. The writing is brilliant...its incredibly compelling and powerful, written in a tense, brutally efficient and to-the-point style. The book speeds all over the globe, from the US to Croatia and the pace never lets up.

The characters are mercifully fewer, and are slightly better developed. the plot is complex and interesting. I can certainly reccomend this book.

superb thriller
The Financial Strike Force is an international organization that focuses on money laundering on a global scale. Grace Flint, FSF Assistant Director is poised to bring down German crime czar Karl Groeber but it turns sour when an agent is killed. Grace takes this personally because she personally recruited the operative.

After going over the failed investigation, it becomes apparent that someone with insider knowledge sold them out. That person is Grace's husband Ben. It turns out that there is no record to prove that Grace's husband ever existed, which means he was a spy designed to get close to Flint. When Ben causes Grace's father grievous injuries she vows to hunt him down and bring him to justice even if it means going through Karl Groeber to do it.

Grace Flint is a flawed imperfect heroine who endears herself to the audience because of her willingness to take responsibility for her actions. Except for her, it's hard to tell the heroes from the villains in FLINT'S LAW because most of the players have their own agenda and alliances. The story line compulsively compels readers to finish this tale in one sitting. It will be very hard to wait for the next installment in this dynamic new series.

Paul Riley Flower Painting
Excellent innovative approach to painting flowers in watercolor. Paul Riley departs from the standard format of predictable how to books and speaks of research and investigation, planning and preparation, exactly as he might as a teacher. (He runs successful painting workshops from his studio in Devon.) Flowers are synonymous with color and Riley is a consummate colorist. He uses unusual tools, calligraphy brushes and bamboo pens to achieve his effects. Beautiful color, articulately written.

Flower Painting by Paul Riley
I have just taken up watercoloring as a hobby and having had no classes in watercoloring but having a love of painting flowers, I found this book to be extremely helpful and informative. I copied several of Mr. Riley's pictures and they turned out very well. His information on watercolors and brushes to get started with are extremely helpful and I will be following his advice! I read the book from cover to cover and am looking forward to reading his book on landscapes. His book is easy for even a beginner like myself to understand and use.
