A great book for young hockey fans
With the Mighty Ducks now in the Stanley Cup finals, Paul Kariya is now center stage in the hockey world. This book is a great choice for any young (8-12) hockey or sports fan. Lots of photos of the young Kariya as a kid and as a junior hockey player. Interesting text with lots of biographical details. If you have a child in your life who is dreaming of playing in the NHL one day, this is a great inspirational book about a really nice, decent player, a good role model.

Hockey the NHL Way: Goal Scoring

Good for intermmediate and awesome for beginner players
At $8.95US cover price, this book cannot be beat. I picked it up because I need help developing my slapshot. The coverage of all points related regarding scoring is fantastic. You won't find information about improving your skating, but you will find plenty about dekes, stick handling, shooting, and best of all, reading the goalie.

I only found one fault with the book -- some explanations are too simple and don't go in depth where you might have a question about their explanation.

I cannot express to you how helpful this book is to me. I am an average player, and it filled me in on a lot of things I didn't know and probably never would if I hadn't read it. Besides, this book is so colorful and well put together that just the pictures of the pros make it worth the money.

I'd say a "good read" for any player who has been playing less than two years and a "must read" for any forward who has been playing for less than two years.

Dreamy & Very Moody!
This is a beautiful book! I was so anxious to see Paul Jasmin's long-awaited first book, having recently heard so much about this remarkable photographer. Over the years, I have researched many photographers, but wasn't familiar with Paul's work at all. Well, I now have another favorite photographer. These are stunningly seductive, moody, romantic, and erotic images, to name only a few feelings that came to me while viewing this sampling of his work. These images are taken from the 1950's right up to 2001. A great selection that covers male and female nudes, portraits of friends, people of the entertainment & art world, fashion shoots and peaceful travel images.

Jasmin states, "I still dream in the 1950's", well, lucky for us. You get a feeling from these photographs that you don't get from the current photographers images, and that's a feeling of innocence. A time when sex was more innocent and much more sensual. A long time friend of Bruce Weber, you can see the influence in a few of these photos. Paul Jasmin have appeared in many leading fashion magazines such as Arena, Vogue, W, and L'uomo Vogue. There are three informative and touching essays by Sofia Coppola, Grazia D'Annunzio, and critic Nicolai Ouroussoff. They help to highlight & explain Jasmin's life and career. Arena Editions has again published another striking book on quality paper, that is handsomely designed.

This is a rare opportunity to enjoy a photographer who exposes us to a time that is now lost, a time of innocence and youthful carefree ways. I really enjoyed this collection of his images. Highly Recommended!

A Beautifully intimate, informed history of Hollywood.
Zollo, who has been a master at interviewing songwriters for years, now turns his focus to old-timers of Hollywood who remember this mythic, confusing town for what it once was. This is a vivid, funny, historic, surprising and poetic series of history and memoirs and a tour of Hollywood which all adds up to a collosal collection of Hollywood as it really was. There's the hilarious Jonathan Winters, plus Steve Allen, Marie Windsor, Jerry Maren of the Wizard of OZ, Eveyln Keyes, Charles Champlin, Walter Bernstein,Karl Malden and so many more, all remembering their own personal Hollywoods, and collectively reflecting this special town in a way it's never been seen before. It's Hollywood from the inside, with all its blessings and curses reflected together. For anyone wanting to know of the full evolution of this singular town, this is the book by you, written and compiled by a writer who clearly loves his subject. A must for any lovers of Hollywood and its history.

Informative
I'm surprised to see this book listed in Amazon. It's one of the best, if not the best Deva book out there. Not recommended for beginners in the subject. It entwines astrology, paganism, herbology and devas all in one, simply magnificent.
