This is an important book for future generations. The revolutionary work done by Pinochet and his advisors, copied not only in Latin America but the world at large.

It is also important that this book calls Pinochet by his real name, a Capitalist. These days anybody that doesn't agree with marxists-liberals is a fascist.

I'm still waiting to see how fascists implement free-market reforms like Pinochet did.

Each page is filled with the rich, sweet colors and visions of the people, gardens and seaside cottages of the North Atlantic coast. The tart, juicy text tells of rose-covered arbors, brick ovens, berry picking and sails of fishing boats. Landry's use of color and light are extraordinary. I've read a lot of novels about the Vietnam war, but "Carl Melcher Goes to Vietnam" ranks right up there with the best of them. From the first page the reader is drawn into the story completely and experiences the alternating tedium and tension, the mysterious jungle, the underlying conflict between black and white soldiers, the friendships made and the brutal reality of their being taken away -- in essence all the daily nuances of the common soldier's Vietnam War experience. The characters of this story come alive and stay in the reader's head for a long time after finishing the last page. This carefully-crafted novel made me a Paul Clayton fan, and I'm eagerly waiting for his next one.

I'm a classical musician and, of course, love beauty. I don't understand anything of Arquitecture but I admire it. I believe that Carlos Jimenez is one of the most perssonal, creative, simple and richely complex artists that I know (unfortunately not in person). And that book reflexed this things, if we can see.

This book discusses the ancient beginnings of Carmel with Elijah, the prophet; what makes Carmel different from other spiritual traditions; the various aspects of the rule of Carmel; three primarily known Carmelites, St. Teresa, St. John of the Cross, and St. Therese; and finally the various forms of Carmelite prayer and meditation. An excellent overview.
