Old Dry Frye is a hilarious tall tale that everyone mustread. This book is all about Old Dry Frye and his love for friedchicken, and how he will alwys show up at your house is he smellsfried chicken but suddenly something happens that changes everything. This book is a must read!

a shot of good news

I read this book when still in manuscript form several years ago. Since that time I have put into practice many of the ideas in this very timely book. I believe that a working understanding of systems theory is very important to anyone in a leadership position. Dr. Lawson provides a readable, easy to understand overview of Bowen Theory and Systems Theory. I believe Dr. Lawson is spot on in saying that knowledge without practice isn't much help. Centering Prayer offers a tried and true spiritual practice that provides benefit to the individual as well as the organization.

I have been rector of a parish in So. California for 7 years and can attest that the prinicples in this book really do work. Forget what you have learned about management techniques and read this book.

Out-of-Print----BUT NOT FOR LONG

As the author of this book, you may want to ignore my rating! I am really writing to simply note that the book will be reprinted late in 2001 or early in 2002 by The Johns Hopkins University Press. I have written a new introduction for the JHUP edition to bring the book up-to-date on all the latest about Heaviside.

A much neglected yet much needed book

Don't visit DC without this book!

What a great book! It is refreshing to read a historical guide that doesn't take itself too seriously. On This Spot brings the sights and history to life for us transplated Washingtonians. While the book can be used as a walking tour guide, it can just as easily take you on a tour through history from your living room. Makes me feel like I am in Washington again!

Excellent reading, very interesting & informative - Ramki

Once and Forever in Africa transports you into a real but magical world. The thrill of adventure combines with the "old jungle" way of perception to enthrall the reader all the way through.

I could not put it down after I started reading it. The basics of exchanging messages are so beautifully intertwined in the story. I would recommend this book for anyone interested in adventure, Africa and also for anyone interested in increasing the effectiveness of their perception and interactions.

A critical message for humanity.

This is clearly Paul Knitter's finest work to date. Beautifully written, both academically and from the heart, it addresses those sources of strain in this world that are tearing it, nations, religious bodies and individual souls apart. While I agree with Hans Kung's that my view of the "uniqueness" of Christ differs from that of Knitter, I still recommend this book without reservation. Often, voices such as Knitter's seem like "the voice of one crying in the wilderness." God willing, much good will come when the number of like-minded people reaches critical mass. In God's time it will.
