Paul Keller is a friend and someone who I have counted on to train my organization in the past. His work in this book really simplifies the "How To"!!!!!!

I was a frustrated director until I met "The Sixty-Minute Shakespeare." Here was everything I needed: the plot of Romeo and Juliet cut down to a manageable size, production suggestions, blocking notes, set of sound requirements, property lists, detailed stage directions and even the definitions of some of Shakespeare's more obscure words and phrases. I never would have attempted directing a group of homeschoolers, ages 7-14, a Shakespearean production without this marvelous book. And I would have deprived them of an extremely rewarding experience: they worked very hard and the production was highly praised by the community. Not only that, but I am certain that most harbor a distinct affection for the works of Mr. Shakespeare. What more could a homeschool mother and Shakespearian enthusiast desire? Thank you Five Star Publications for providing my children with a never-to-be-forgotten educational memory that was a whole lot of fun!
Sincerely, Susan Zelie Homeschool Educator

I picked up this book because I wanted to quickly catch up on the newer techniques. This book was a great way to do it. There are plenty of photos and line drawings to help demonstrate the various techniques. Each chapter ends with a section called "What to do when you don't get what you want," which I found particularly helpful and practical.
The book is clearly written, in a conversational style, and has generous doses of humor, (which I've never come across in a medical text!). It was enjoyable to read.
A few of the chapters were great for any ophthalmologist - the one on "Preparation" discussed the things like positioning the patient, anesthesia set up, pre-op procedures, and gave a hilarious description of what it is for the patient to go through everything we put them through on the day of surgery. (Don't let every person who meets them ask "Which eye?" - Who wouldn't lose confidence when the whole staff keeps asking the same fundamental question!).
There are two excellent chapter on efficiency in the OR. They give a great description of how the author manages to get through more cases than expected in a day, using only one OR and one phaco machine.
There is also a great chapter on performing anterior vitrectomies correctly.
I really enjoyed this book, and even though I am proficient at phaco, I still enjoy reading chapters again. It is a must read for any resident in training, anyone transitioning to phaco or the newer techniques, and anyone interested in doing things more efficiently.
