A must for people interested in the field of psychology!

As my title stated so clearly, precisely and plainly, this book in question, i.e., Anxiety Disorders: A Practitioner's Guide by Paul M.G. Emmelkamp, et al is a must have for a person whom is any way, shape or form interested in psychology and especially in the study of Anxiety disorders. The authors, i.e., Paul M.G. Emmelkamp, et al, have done a commendable job in their presentation of these often debilitating disorders, e.g., Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or Social Phobia; and they have written about these difficult disease with a sense of purpose, meaning and ultimately with the intention to remove the bias, preconceptions and presumptions that surround and engulf psychological disorders and problems in our modern society. I would definitely promote this book, i.e., Paul M.G. Emmelkamp, et al, as I (personally) see it as one of the best books regarding this troubling and often emotional disorder, i.e., the nature of the Anxiety Disorder.

a great addition to your library

This book is a great addition to any other Paul H. Dunn books you might have in your library. It's humorous and motivating...it makes you want to be "anxiously engaged" in doing good as the scriptures command. The stories are great to use in talks and in family lessons on helping others or being a better person. A great tribute to his life. Definately one to have if you love Dunn's books! I gave out copies for Christmas gifts. It's worth the time reading.

chock full of intelligent insights

Amidst all the inflated rhetoric that either denounces technology for making music "inauthentic" or celebrates it for creating new postmodern forms of community, Paul Theberge's "Any Sound You Can Imagine" is a welcome oasis of intelligence. Rather than choosing sides in what often becomes a simplistic debate, Theberge provides a balanced account that, uniquely, puts digital instruments in a broad social and historical perspective. This book has much to recommend it, but the high points for me are the last several chapters, in which Theberge formulates a theory of how instruments work not only practically but symbolically, that goes beyond almost any other book on the subject. As such, "Any Sound You Can Imagine" is heady stuff, but it's also accessibly written. Anyone who thinks they know something about electronic music, whether it be techno or the electronic avant garde, should read this book and see how many of their assumptions are left standing at the end.

In my estimation, the biography of Meshach Paul Krikorian is an invaluable addition to anyone's library of God-centered, and inspired writings. There is no doubt when reading about Meshach from his early childhood to his ultimate destination in the United States, that he was able to overcome man obstacles, attaining what may have seemed to him as unattainable goals.

From the beginning of the book, his expression of love and obedience to his parents would enevtually lead him on a path that met God's plan for his life. I was quite impressed and overwhelmed to see how God's wisdom was brought out as Meshach interpreted the Holy Scriptures to the understanding of the reader. From a shepherd boy to Writer, Minister and Missionary, Meshach's life was of complete Servanthood to God and to all people.

Meshach's Ministry brings hope and salvation for anyone seeking the ultimate answer to life's questions.

excellent and to the point!

This is a great explanation of Catholic beliefs by a wise priest. It is not so much a listing of dogma but an explanation of why we believe what we believe. This book is loaded with common sense that everyone can and should learn. The first part examines the nature of God. It proves his existence, shows how he works in the world, discusses the fallacies in pantheism and atheism, and talks about the attributes 0f God. The second part examines the life of Christ. Why He was what He said He was and couldn't be anything else, how He proved Himself, and the resurrection. The last part goes on to prove the Catholic church was the one founded by the apostles. It discusses the early church, the nature of the true church, and the papacy. This book is a great apologetic work and you would not be wasting your money.

Biblically based refreshing view of the Christain woman

Rev. Williams uses the words of the Apostle Paul to show that Paul actually affirms the role of women in ministry and Christian leadership. She is not to see men as her priest and dominating leader. He looks directly at most of the problem passages by Paul and shows how they are typically misinterpreted to place the woman below men in the family and church. It was truly a great work. Highly recommended

A Necessary Classic in Environmental Psychology

Cherulnik's book is an extraordinarily concise and well explained set of cases ordered to introduce researchers from all concerned areas into environmental psychology. As an architect I found there more than hints to reference and improve my doctoral research, but a clear map to many serious problems of that multidisciplinary area. The application of environment-behavior theory and research in architecture is very disputed among old and young design praticants, and Cherulnik shows its potential and limitations in a amazingly systematic and earnst way. I think that more cases must be added to make that order of presentation more ecumenical - a suggestion that implies the deepening and multiplication of examples in very needy fields as low rent housing and neighborhood's planning. Excellent.

translation of EDA with code for implementation

In 1977 John Tukey published the orange book EDA with Addison Wesley. It was his attempt to put together all the useful ideas that came out of his research in data analysis over at least the preceding 20 years. Tukey's book was unconventional and confusing to many. Velleman and Hoaglin wrote the ABCs of EDA to try to make the ideas more palitable for the masses that practice statistical methods. The book was hailed as a great success in that regard. Although antiquated by today's standards the authors had several Fortran programs for the analyses. This book is interesting to have only from an historical perspective. Today the stem-and-leaf plots, the box plots and many of the other great ideas of EDA are implemented in standard packages such as SAS. This book was an important achievement as it sped up the usage of EDA. Also these authors got experience at expository writing of elementary statistics which served them well in their later publications.

Tremendous Book

After six years in the military, I went back to school. Admittedly, my math skills were not as sharp as they should have been. Applied Algebra I, took me step by step through begining Algebra. Very well thought out, one section builds on the next. I would recommend this book for any student starting out in Algebra or as a refresher course for those individuals looking to tune up their skills. Very well done!!

Understand data collection and applied behavior analysis

One of the best texts on Applied Behavior Analysis! It is extremely user friendly with lots of examples applicable to today's classroom. I've used several editions of this text...as a grad student, a classroom teacher, and now as a college professor. I would highly recommend it to any teacher (or future teacher) or any university instructor as a college text.
