A Simple muscle testing method to better balance the body.
Though not a true applied kinesiology treatice, this book was written from the viewpoint of a physician to provide a simple testing method of kinesiology or muscle testing that helps the reader better determine his vitamin and nutritional needs. It is not a substitue for good medical care but provides additional help to restore optimal health. The Helen Smith story

A book that needs to be revised
Paul Foot is the credited writer on the website, but on thecover Foot shares credit with Ron Smith, Helen Smith's father. Without him, none of the details and cover ups concerning the case would have been released.

Foot and Smith give a blow by blow account of the mysterious death of Helen Smith, a British Nurse who was working in a private hospital in Jeddah. Foot was a reporter for the Daily Mirror and Private Eye who was initially put off by Ron Smith's insistence of a British/Saudi cover up concerning his daughter's death.

The two authors put forward a good case showing that the British and Saudi authorities were covering something up concerning Helen's Smith death. One thing is certain, her death was not due to accidentally falling off the balcony with a friend. The official reason that was endorsed by the Foreign Office.

The book also exposes the bored expat. life that most western citizens had while living in Saudi Arabia. Divisions of class seem to become even more apparent here, especially when it came to Ron Smith trying to get the Foreign Office and the UK Embassy in Saudi Arabia to release more details of his daughter's death. This includes Smith secretly recording conversations with diplomats who patronised and lied to him during his visits to Arabia.

The Helen Smith case is now best known because her body has still not been buried. Instead she is still stored in a morturary in Yorkshire while her father still hopes for a re-opening of the case. During the 1980's he was promised by then Labour leader, Michael Foot, that should they get in power, there would be a investigation on Helen Smith's death. There seems to have been no response from Tony Blair's goverment.

Parents:A great story to reinforce or introduce rhyming
Rhyming patterns help with spelling. A student can see the endings of words are the same and follow the patterns for other unfamiliar words. This makes decoding and spelling unknown words easier: Henny, Penny, Lenny, etc. fox, box, lox, pox. Follow-up with any Dr.Seuss book to reinforce rhyming and spelling.

His Soul Goes Marching on: Responses to John Brown and the Harpers Ferry Raid
Published in Hardcover by University Press of Virginia (January, 1995)
Author: Paul Finkelman
Amazon base price: $65.00
Used price: $19.75
Collectible price: $9.53
Average review score:

a slighly biased approach to John Brown
the essays contained within Finkelman's books are well written and well argued, just watch out because they contain an anti-Brown slant. These works are far from impartial and for a history text, some of them don't follow the traditional road to research of primary source, secondary, and so and so forth. The text is excellent if are looking to read good essays, but they are not impartial.

Better and better
Paul Charles' series gets better with each book. He writes solid, non-gory, police procedurals, with the requisite ongoing problematic, but developing relationship between the protagonist officer and the interesting woman.

The writing has gotten more solid, less forced in the descriptive details since the first book. It's not grand literature, but it's enjoyable in all the essential areas of plot, character, and description. There's just enough about popmusic to be fun, and nothing at all annoying or cloying.

Insightful!
This thorough, scholarly study balances broad concepts with specific details of the history of finance from the 15th through 20th centuries. Though authors Jonathan Barron Baskin and Paul J. Miranti Jr. assume that the reader has some knowledge of finance and relevant terms, they avoid mathematical models and jargon in favor of plain language. Their book is accessible and valuable to lay readers as well as trained economists, historians, students of finance and anyone coping with an emerging market. The issues they examine remain surprisingly relevant, because - as they soon make clear - the problems that historical markets once confronted are the same issues of risk and information that markets face today, particularly emerging markets. As a historical study, this book presents no particular prescriptions for success or future action. However, we at getAbstract.com recommend its explanation of why some structures succeeded and others failed, because those forces have clear implications today.

Perfect timing
I was looking for a book like this when I started researchingmy family's history recently. It provides a perfect place to keep allof those records. The flowery type on the cover isn't to my taste, but I looked past that. If you are looking for something along these lines, this would do the job and the bargain price is certainly an added bonus.

"A Must Have For Understanding Early Christian Thought"
Dr. Augustus Neander, father of Protestant historiography, is greatly renowned for several interesting works on church history. This one in particular, the only one easy to find, is a basic overview of early Christian thought. It handles the multi-faceted belief systems of nascent Christianity - the Gnostic ideas, the Mystic's, the various teachers and schools are covered and treated with impartialty. Neander has no set agenda or bias, thus allowing one to form his own conception of Early Christianity. Much information found here will not be found elsewhere...there are not histories like this anymore.
