Funniest book in a bit
The book started off promising enough. I thought that at worst this book would give the reader a rough idea of what the British education system was about. That was what i gave me.. and then some more. I haven't laughed out loud reading a book in a while. And this book was a pleasant change. It give readers a overview of schooling from the view point of a growing up boy who comes from a semi-posh family in England. The usage of language in this book is unexpectedly funny and needless to say, the humour is real.Why i really like this 'Comp' is because the book flows as thought the writer is really a 14 year old boy. It didnt necessarily flow from one plot to another to be well written book. The author excellently captures the essence of being a young, regular and tirelessly naughty boy.

The deeper issues discussed are the evolution of the UK education system and the racial issues that come with it. A must read for those who miss the good old schooling days. Definitely written along the lines of Adrian Mole with a little bit more.

Economics Student, Rutgers University
This is what every economics textbook should aspire to be: detailed, clear and compelling to read. Perhaps the greatest resource is the notes and extensive suggested readings after each chapter (grouped by topic).
There is however one downside. Since this is such an extraordinary text you may not find too many used editions to purchase. This one's a keeper!

Wonderful, thought-provoking book
I've seen this book heavily criticized by some reviewers but I thought it was wonderful. Genuinely original, thought-provoking, even radical in places. His closing section on sources of bias in ecology is a must; I recommend it as a key text to my students.

Essential reference
This is the descendant of the Guinness chart books and contains, for the first time ever, singles and albums (and EPs from a separate chart) together in one volume. Each artist has his/her/their singles, EPs, and albums listed in chronological order along with label, chart debut date, peak, and weeks on chart. Each re-entry onto the chart is noted separately. The index of titles is comprehensive and their is, of course, a chronological recap of number ones. Trivia fanatics will miss the pages of chart oddities that appeared at the back of the Guinness books, but that's a small quibble, since much chart trivia has been stuffed into the main listings (notes under the chart titles, etc.). An essential reference.

The Complete Golfer
I've read much of Steve Newell's work in Golf World Magazine in the UK and have always rated him highly. He may not be a big name player or teacher but he clearly has the ability to write instructional editorial that's both enlightening and entertaining. There's nothing new in this instructional book, but it's set out well, easy to follow and as useful as any I've read.

A fantastic, practical field guide and reference book.
Covering not only specifics on species,distribution and family keys, but information on the regions studied, its biogeography and a guide to collection preservation and measurment of fish specimens. This book also looks at conservation, classification, relationships between fish and man, fish biology and a bit on the geographical influences on the fishes looked at.
