A must buy for francophiles and bread lovers!
I found this book to be amazing! The pictures by themselves make this book worth buying and reading. The text of the book is interesting and goes into the history and practice of bread making in France.

The recipes are wonderful, though not very formalized. However, having fun working through the recipes is what it is all about, n'est-ce pas?

A frightened young emigrant from China makes a new friend.
Paul Yee and illustrator Gu Xiong work their magic together in this handsome picture book featuring a young boy left alone all day in a new country while his parents go to work. Seeing a face in his own attic window, he meets a boy his own age, who he plays with to pass the lonely hours. Whether the boy is a ghost or a figment of the lad's imagination is left to the opinion of the reader. But when the boy's parents announce that they are moving, the lad cannot persuade his friend to move with him, and so the friendship is lost. This is a ghost-fantasy tale for imaginative young readers.

Minor Work
The Boy in the Bush is a minor work being a collaboration between Lawrence & Mollie Skinner. It is still a interesting read containing "Laurentian" ideas more fully worked out in his other novels.

Pure Storytelling
Paul Bowles tape recorded Mrabet and other Moroccan storytellers back in the 50s, then edited and translated the tales to give to the Western reading public. The result is a large body of Arabic literature that would have pased into the void had it not been for his efforts.

These stories alone would suffice to merit the eternal gratitude of literature and story lovers everywhere. It's impossible to fathom how an illiterate (Mrabet) could smoke a few bowls of kif and effortlessly spin forth such highly structured, intricate yarns "off the top of his head," yet he and several other of his Moroccan compatriots could do just that. Luckily for posterity, a genius such as Bowles was there to act as amaneunsis.

The title story alone is enough to warrant a purchase. It's an unforgettable account of a young Arab boy who falls victim to a band of vicious marauders. The revenge he exacts is truly diabolical.

Readers who enjoy this collection will NO doubt want to investigate Bowles' collection of indiginous, Moroccan, kif-smoking, oral storytellers, HUNDRED CAMELS IN THE COURTYARD. It, too, is unforgettable. Just another piece of the fabric that went into the tapestry of genius that is Paul Bowles.

A very imaginative and thrilling book
This is a story about a boy who was in bed because he has a fever. To pass the time so he won't be bored, he flies paper airplanes, and with his imagination, he goes on some adventures. The way he uses paper is cool; he uses paper for everything! This book was so good that I went and made paper airplanes after I read it. I recommend this book for ages 8-12.

Excellent book about brachiopods
This is quite possibly the best book about brachiopods I have read in my life. Paul Copper and Jisou In work true magic in bringing brachiopods to life, almost as if they were to jump off the page! Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the 3rd International Brachiopod Congress in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, but I definitely plan to be there for the 4th.

Excellent work! If you're a brachiopod fan, this book is definitely for you.
