Something Different & Exciting
Since this book is about my fathers life, I am a bit partial. The story is a fast paced story about the life of a con man with a big heart. He experienced life as a electronic genius and lived in a time of mobsters and prohibition. His many escapades are both interesting and funny. My father is now 91 and lives in a nursing home. He still has ice blue eyes and is smart as a whip. I recommend this book for those who are too young to have known those days, and for others who would like a trip down memory lane.

just a correction from the author on your blurb
in the blurb describing my book, you have an "a" before "all" in the last sentence, "the Prime Mover in all things." Please correct.

Thanks.

good manual
I never had interest in chemistry (and probably never will) but I found this book easier than most. By easier I do not mean that there is not much content, but the way of writing and the explainations are given in simple terms, making it better than most books. Many concepts which were greek to me were easily understood, and the excersises were designed to make a person think and apply knowledge. It is a good book, but then again, unless you're interested in chemistry this book won't magically pour knowledge of chemistry into your head. All this does is make you learn chem the way it should be learned, by understanding and applying knowledge. Among most of the chem books i've come across I'd rate this as one of the best. This manual is useful for lab exercises, if you're a student. After using this book a lot of lab excersises were very very easy to me, and I understood concepts more than by listening to the professor.

Chemistry : A Contemporary Approach
This is an excellent supplement for leaning introductory chemistry. I found chemistry very difficult in the first semester. Once I found this book in one of the shelves in my chem classroom and thought it was really good. I found it in amazon.com and bought it. I started reading it and found chemistry getting eaiser and eaiser. My grade went up from a C+ to an A in the second semester. It uses the most concise words to explain the complex ideas. Chemistry is not an easy subject for many people. Having an useful supplement like this book could really make a big difference.

Excellent
An Excellent text. Full of useful information on the daily uses of chemistry. Well written, great CD-ROM. Many texts use CD-ROMS, but few are able to place students in a virtual laboratory to the extent that this production does. Very nice graphics, nice problems, and useful tutorials for all aspects of the chemistry these authors are trying to cover.

EXTREMELY POWERFUL !!!!
This book is an incredible testimonial of an accident that I seemed to have forgotten about. It put it right back in my face. The combination of the photographs and essays leaves no doubt about how dangerous nuclear power is, how little we know about, what happened in 1986 and what the REAL consequences of a nuclear accident are. NOW.

Something to think about ... Especially in times like this.

This is a BOOK TO READ, LOOK AT AND DISCUSS ABOUT. A definite keeper. Grat photography.

Really gets kids started
I bought this book for my son over 25 years ago on the recommendation of a bookseller, who had to find it in the store and call me to come and buy it. My six year old (at the time) simply read the book and UNDERSTOOD chess immediately. He beat adults within about a month. The book has different games to show the movement and strategies for each piece. It's fabulous! I wish the publisher would print it again. For now, I'm trying to buy it "used" for my niece.

Provides an excellent overview for intermediate students
This fine chess book approaches tactics in the best way I have ever seen. Each tactical idea is introduced and built on using progressive examples both from the attacker's and defender's point of view. I highly recommend it for any player over USCF 1000 rating

A great racing read!
A great book for every Chevrolet racing fan. Full of secret items and true stories of Chevrolet's behind the scenes involvement in racing when the AMA ban on manufacturer involvement was in place. Plenty of amusing characters from the early days of racing. Highly recommended.
