This is the perfect gift book for men of all ages.
This is a very tasteful book of inspirational quotes. It focuses on the value of a man's character. It would make a a nice graduation or Father's Day gift. The artwork and photographs throughout the book are very well done, masculine, classic and conservative. It is quite short and can be read in less than 30 minutes. It could be used as a resource book for inspirational quotes when writing speeches or inspiring employees. Above all, it is a perfect gift book for men of all ages.

The best fusion of poetry/anthropology I've ever seen.
I was totally overwhelmed by the lives of these two Yakama women and the struggles they had to overcome at the turn of the 19th century. The poetry is absolutely stunning and it includes all kinds of anthropological references that further helps in understanding the Yakama culture of the northwest. Brooke seems adept at making the stories come alive. One of the most profound moments of the book is when Kwona is given a hummingbird heart by Chaw-mwn. It is a wonderful moment.

By all means, read this little book. It's fantastic.

Excellent design guide to keep you current with the code
I have the third edition of the book published in 1985 and I have used the book to help defang the ACI Code. Sometimes the actual code is difficult to interpret. This book distills the code into manageable portions which allows safe and proper design. It's too bad that there are not more recent editions to the book since the code has significantly changed since the third edition was published.

The Essential Steel Design and Reference
If you design steel members and connections this book is an absolute necessity. It contains the standard AISC member properties, as well as standard specifications for connections. Most importantly, Vol I includes the complete LRFD design specification(s) (1993) along with 500 pages of detailed notes carefully explaining each section of the LRFD design method. I found the notes and design examples very useful, thorough and easy to follow in actual practice. AISC of course provides the same extensive design charts that were used in ASD, as well as expanded appendices for design practice and commentary for this "new" method. The only drawback is the typical supplement of errata for this printing.

An Inspired Introduction
The late Paul Heyne was one of this century's finest economics educators. His ECONOMIC WAY OF THINKING is justifiably renowned for being crystal clear, and his classroom instruction is famous.

This short book, published posthumously, is the best 100-page-or-less introduction to economics and the economic way of thinking that I've ever read. Possessing a poet's economy and skill with words, Heyne conveys not only the basic tenents of modern economics, but he goes a long way toward explaining their historical origins.

The reader also sees on display in this monograph Paul Heyne's truly deep insight to economics and its subject matter. Indeed, to explain economics as clearly, consisely, and beautifully as Heyne does requires a wisdom so profound that few economists ever come close to possessing it and the understanding that it makes possible. Paul Heyne possessed such wisdom and understanding in abundance.

Even professional economists will gain by reading this book -- despite its being accessible to almost any reader.

Love, sex and lies all wrapped up
The plot was engrossing. Never have I experienced suspense to this degree. Each time I read this bestseller, I encounter more relevant details. The characters are well-developed, physically and mentally. I can hardly wait for the next publication.

A Must For NATA Test Takers
If you are preparing to take the NATA Certification Exam, this book is a must have! This book breaks down the entire test taking procedure, explaining what to expect, describing the different portions of the exam, and how to study for each one. It also includes where the questions come from, and how to approach each one. After you read and understand the test-taking process, it provides a mock test with example questions which are very similar to those found on the actual exam. Great book with practical advice that you can use.

The bible of Subliminal Messaging
This short book was written by Professor Paul Swingle while he was on staff at Maclean Hospital at Harvard. It is published by a company which specializes in books for professional psychologists. It is a serious, professional effort aimed at helping the professional health care provider become more informed about the use and application of subliminal approaches in healing and helping individuals to change.

Dr. Swingle, now in Vancouver, BC, Canada, is also a well known and respected biofeedback practitioner who creatively integrates biofeedback, CES (Cerebral Electrical Stimulation) acupuncture, electromagnetic therapy and other new technologies. He also has a series of audio subliminal products published by Tools for Wellness.

Dr. Swingle has been a regular speaker on the above topics at the annual Winter Brain conference I organize. His thinking is always original and right at the cutting edge.

Another, older book that is relevant to Subliminal stimulation is Dickson's book PRECONSCIOUS PROCESSING.
