I purchased three "Build Your Own Talking Clocks" this past
x-mas. One for me and one each for my grand children, ages 5 and 11 years. December 26th we three sat together at the kitchen table and built our talking clocks. The directions and parts and abilities all went together without a hitch. When completed each clock worked and was a great functioning momento of a good time had by all. Highly recommended!

The official BOTA deck is too good to be true! The Case-Parkerendition is cleaner, with less cross-hatching, to facilitate easierhand coloring. I used colored pencils to color my deck, and I am very well pleased with the results, which resemble stained glass in their vivid brilliance and intensity. There is perhaps no better way to ingrain the imagery of the Tarot into one's subconscious mind than to color each card oneself. The personal energy and intent which goes into the creation of one's own unique deck makes for a very powerful and Magickal Tarot indeed! I would heartily recommend this deck to anyone who is serious about learning the Qabalistic symbology of the Tarot as a method of the Western Esoteric Traditions.

A clearly written guide to internet programming in C++. The examples are solid, and yet simple enough that you don't get bogged down trying to figure out the code rather than understand the concept being taught. It's a shame other programming books aren't as well written.

Lederach's work stands at the forefront of the emergent field of conflict transformation study. A professor at Eastern Mennonnite University, he also has extensive field experience. In "Building Peace", he focuses upon the necessity of constructing relationships across multiple social levels, de-emphasizing the role of political elites, and instead focusing both upon mid-level elites (bureaucrats, intellectuals, "influential" persons) and grassroots-level activism. He also stresses the need to develop long-range objectives, to delink expectations of short-term results from questions of involvement, and the need for implementation of training programmes to create what might be termed a "culture of peace" within the society: trained mediators indigenous to the society. In doing this, the hope is that the "parachute" problem of credibility (the idea that mediators are dropped from the above---IGO/foreign gouvernment, etc---and have no particular attachment to the conflict) may be reduced, and transformation of the conflict may be initiated.

Lederach's work is exceptionally lucid, and he draws upon a smorgasbord of substantive examples. Highly recommended.

This is a brand and marketing strategy book I must highly reccommend- especially for professionals in the field (even with the odd spelling mistake). Really detailed, expert analysis and unique insight- the "real thing" in a world that is full of "pretend experts". This guy knows his stuff- big time. Many ideas are new and jump at the reader, and are backed up by real case study examples. This book makes any Marketer and Brander think a lot and opens some new ground- it is also one of the most thorough books on the subject I have read (every aspect of strategic Brand Building is covered and carefully "woven" into his argument). I use it as a professional's guide to look at when I'm stuck- a great strategist's reference and no doubt for me a book that has opened up new doors in strategic brand building and marketing thinking. Don't share with the competition!!!

Another great little book from Trellis and Sharp for anyone just entering the home building industry, or for those needing a business refresher particular to this industry. A great help in organizing your thoughts for designing, building, marketing, and managing your residential construction business. Very pertinent as well as current. Every paragraph holds valuable information. Direct and to the point.

This is the best test book I have read. It covers all aspects of BIST with emphasis on pseudorandom techniques. It does not cover as much about testing as "Digital System Testing and Testable Design" but it is well worth its price tag.

Highly readable - Peterson is a skillful storyteller. This collection of stories is entertaining as well as thought provoking. Peterson's original stories show an unerring instinct for what needs telling, with a great ear for dialogue. He manages to weave the reader right into the story and makes the reading a personal experience. Used as sermon illustrations, children's sermons, or entire sermons, these stories, as Peterson puts it "allow the congregation to participate through imagination and individual personality."

Think your Chinese is good enough to do business in China? Well, it'll be that much better if you decide to get this great language guide. This book has plenty of phrases for doing business in China and even important high technology language to help you to communicate in the changing landscape of China's economy. It also has vocabulary on specific industries such as banking and finance and management consulting.

*Note- I'm not sure if this is a beginner's book since it doesn't go into a lot of grammar, which is important. I already have a pretty good grammar foundation, and the vocabulary adds onto that. It's pretty much like a Chinese dictionary of business phrases and vocabulary.

In short, this book offers a lot of value for the price and those doing business in China should get it to expand their business vocabulary. I highly recommend it.

Although negotiation skills are nurtured overtime and solidified with practice, this book quickly and simply communicates the main corner stones and phases of effective negotiation. The font and layout assist fast reading and the subject is covered concisely to enable a satisfactory grasp of the concept in a few hours - without oversimplifying the message and compromising the value to the reader.
