Super cute
This book is super cute. It was bought for a high school to expose students to books in Spanish. They were amused. First year spanish students were able to figure out what the text meant based on the pictures. This was very helpful.

One of the best
I have the 1985 hard back edition of this book. It is one of the mainstays in my library. I have been doing bonsai for about 15 years and refer to this book often. The apendices are extremely helpful. They list a large number of trees and shrubs and tell when each should be repotted, wired, fed, pruned, etc. This is a must for anyone who has a variety of different specimens. You just can't remember it all. The pictures are beautiful and helpful for ideas on how to do your bonsai. I'm ordering this copy for my son-in-law who wants to begin the art of bonsai.

Fascinating views of Sodom from antiquity to the present.
This is an absorbing, well-written book that should appeal to anyone who wants a full understanding of Sodom in all of its manifestations, from antiquity to the present. Organized into three sections, the first section, "Sodom: A Circuit-Walk," is autobiographical and deserves the highest praise for the frankness and thoughtfulness of its expression. The anthology section, which follows, is of generally high interest, covering as it does incidents, accounts, and attitudes of many different historical eras. All of the excerpts are instructive in one way or another and always interesting. Some are appalling, some quite moving, others hysterical in tone and occasionally horrifying, as in the Marquis de Sade excerpt from "The One Hundred and Twenty Days of Sodom." The last section, "Sodom: Looking Back," was too brief and left me begging for more. Let us hope the author will take up where he left off in a sequel to this book, which I consider a landmark effort in understanding Sodom and its affects on social mores and sexual attitudes down through the centuries.

Saved my life!
This book covers a whole-life approach to stress management, from exercise to diet to meditation to causes to examining specifics about your outlook. It was written some time ago before "stress management" became an overused term, but its lessons and warm, reassuring, and sensible tone make it stand out.

Quotations Buff Loves It
I am a fan of quotations and have always tapped into these simple, but profound wisdoms to enhance my life. Beyond a doubt, this author has meticulously selected some of the best. His noting the benefit of applying these to your own personal aspirations really hit home with my belief that they are personal tools, not just entertainment. I would highly recommend this book, not only to those who enjoy quotations or write speeches, but to all who would like to improve their life by tapping into the great wisdom vaults we all should treasure.

Great Resource
I would rate this book a low five or a high four. The reason is that the drawers are big and cluttery and sometimes the fonts they use are big and cluttery and that makes it hard for me to concentrate on the page and read the activity. Having said that though- this is an excellent book.

The ideas are easy to impliment, usually using around the house supplies. Some of them are messy and some of them are not. There is a wide range of activities that will appeal to a wide range of youngsters, cooking, music, mobiles, bugs and more are included in here.

The books says it is directed towards 6- 12 years old. I'd say this is about right. However, some of the activities would be too simple for six year olds and might work well in a kindergarten classroom.

Enjoy

I like smokin' ice cream
Okay, the REAL line from Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild" is "I like smoke and lightning." But I'm a little deaf, and that's what I hear. Besides, I DO like smokin' ice cream. But I digress. This is the ultimate biker book. Why? Because it's clearly WRITTEN BY A REAL DAMN BIKER! Not a poseur. I've read so many of these biker books, and it's clear the authors don't know their pipe side from their primary side, but this guy Garson does. This is the real story about real bikers with real bikes, in all their variegated forms. It was great riding through biker history with Garson and his bros at Easyriders. As we say 'round these parts: Live to Ride, Ride to Brunch.
