compassionate and intelligent
I must have looked through dozens of books when I was first diagnosed with depression. This one is absolutely the best. Insightful and caring without being swarmy or condescending (why do so many authors treat people with depression like they are children?). You'll see yourself in this book--I know I did.

An easy-to-read summary of how to turn over an A/E firm.
This book outlines in reader-friendly terms what is required to value, sell, purchase, or turn over to family or workers an engineering firm. The authors have years of experience from the standpoint of proper accounting experience and legal experience to coordinate these functions. It is a well written book--from the point of view of people in the engineering and architectural environment.

From the Publisher
I thought this might be useful.

Travelling around England is, in many senses, a journey back in time. On all sides, and sometimes even under the road itself, there are fragments of the ancient past. England is one of the richest countries in the world when it comes to visible archaeological sites, ancient buildings, and historic towns. Medieval villages, castles, ancient churches, and Roman villas are commonplace. Far older, yet equally abundant, are the barrows, hillforts, stone circles, camps, standing stones, and other relics of prehistoric times that have survived for several thousand years.

This Guide covers all these ancient remains -- ranging from the first appearance of people in what we now call England during the last Ice Age until the end of medieval times around 1600 AD. Written by three archaeologists, each a specialist in the fields of prehistoric, Roman, and medieval sites included in this Guide. Arranged in 12 regional sections, with easy-to-follow instructions on finding and visiting sites. Includes well-known sites such as Stonehenge, the Vale of the White Horse, Hadrian's Wall, Avebury, Maiden Castle, and Winchester, as well as smaller, lesser-known sites, and cities such as London and York which offer a wealth of archaeological remains. 200 photographs, plans, and maps. Introductory section providing background and context to the monuments. Extensive reference section including a glossary, further reading, and chronology. Listings of museums and their collections, contacts for further information, and internet sites.

Essential for all Political Science students
This is the bible, for lack of a better term, of political science.

I may be biased as several of the articles/definitions are contributions of my past professors, but the consistency of the writing doesn't hint that it is a compilation from many different experts.

In most cases, the contributing authors are the foremost authorities in their respective fields. That is apparent in the quality of this world-class publication.

The Gold Standard
It's a shame this book is a special order. Everyone I have shown the book to, has gone gah-gah (this is a word?) The scholastic and academic quality are consistent with the best of the Oxford Press. The clarity and parsimony of the explication is beautiful. The data are current and insightful. Anyone in clinical practice would benefit from this book. The diagnoses used are those from DSM-IV, but the insight into patient behavior may be timeless. Although as an edited book it is subject to inter-author variability, I found none; rather a consistent voice of compassion for patients, tempered by a scientific mind.

Ozark Log Cabin Folks: The Way They Were

A journey to the past
This book is a compilation of the photographs and interviews by the author. It was originally intended to be a chronicle of the gradual demise of the log cabin in the Ozark mountains. The book is filled with wonderful pictures and stories of life in the Ozarks in the 1940-1950 era. The content is written with respect for the "hill folks (Not hillbillies)," and depicts a hardscrabble, but optimistic way of living. The book does not do the photographs full justice, since they are typically reproduced in markedly reduced scale. Many of these photographs are available in full-sized reproductions and are prized collector's items by many. The book is an easy read that offers much information of a past way of life.
