A VERY GOOD BOOK!!!!
In this book, the Bobbseys are headed to the town of Merlin to visit a friend who is the owner of Creepy Castle, the town's main attraction. But from the first time the Bobbseys enter the castle, things start to go wrong. First off, Flossie sees a vampire that Laurel, one of Creepy Castle's managers, claims should not be there. And then Cara, the other manager, disappears under mysterious circumstances. When Nan and Bert enter a store to buy something, Mr. Phillips, the store's owner, catches them with counterfeit money. And then Mr. Phillips mysteriously disappears, too! This book is a very hard find, and supposedly worth a lot, but it is worth it! This book is another excellent addition to the New Bobbsey Twins series, which, unfortunately, is out of print.

Case for Gold: A Minority Report of the United State Gold Commission

Ron Paul's Report of the U.S. Gold Comission
This book first written in the early 1980's by the honorable Congressman from Texas and Lewis Lehrman discusses the feasibility of bringing back the gold standard. Moreover, Paul makes the case for the gold standard and the case for abolishing the Federal Reserve, which has to its credit: a Great Depression, bloated government growth, skyrocketing public and private debt, stagnating economic growth, and an inflationary boom in the 1970's.

Amidst, rampant inflation of the 1970's, a skyrocketing deficit... Things didn't look so good and a number of business and political leaders seriously enterained and supported the idea of reverting back to the gold standard. Sooner or later the financial institutions and fiat money cartel will abuse its power of the press and inflate us into another depression. Perhaps then instead of migrating to a world bank and currency structure, we will kill the fiat money machine once and for all.

Lastly consider these words: "Under a gold standard, the amount of credit that an economy can support is determined by the economy's tangible assets, since every credit instrument is ultimately a claim on some tangible asset. But government bonds are not backed by tangible wealth, only by the government's promise to pay out of future tax revenues... A large volume of new government bonds can be sold to the public only at progressively higher interest rates. Thus, government spending under a gold standard is severely limited.... In the absence of a gold standard, there is no way to protect savings from confiscation through inflation.... This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists' tirades against gold. Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the hidden confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious process..." Moreover, the author also makes it known that the gold standard wouldn't have the prolonged economic distortions and vicious boom-and-bust cycles that fiat money systems have. Who was the author? None other than Alan Greenspan in an essay called Gold and Economic Freedom. When Greenspan, the Federal Reserve Chief, is face-to-face with Ron Paul... in the back of his head, he knows Paul is right and that the central bank is wrong!

Excellent discussion of the importance of space exploration
Some of it is now a bit dated, but is nevertheless a valuable resource. If you think, or know someone who does, that space exploration is not important, read this book and give it to your friends and politicians. You will see why space exploration is quite important.

Great book, mesmerising, brings the world at your feet
I haven't read the first part (money) but even though I am in engineering, I felt like going into bussiness. This novel puts you in an atmosphere of reality about the bussiness world and demistifies the bussiness environment. This book is a melting pot of a bussiness course, a story of passion and revenge with a suspence till the end about who's pulling the strings. It's one of the best books I've read in the Fiction category.

Cat Balloon - Dances With an Irrepressible Joy
"Far,Far Away where the sea meets the sky In a Land of Dreams where no-one asks why 10,000 cats laze about under trees drinking moonbeam milk and sweet honey tea"

So begins one the most delighful Childrens stories available, the hero,Cat Balloon,is short, slightly over weight and looks nothing at all like the proud jungle cats that he shares his home with, and besides Cat Balloon wants to fulfill just one dream: To fly amongst the stars, and as even though

"cat ballon tried all the obvious things like flapping his arms as if they were wings"

His success is limited for as "everyone knows cats can't fly" until one day Cat Balloon sets sails to seek the secret that has eluded him

This is a delighful choice for children of all ages, with outstandingly beautiful richly coloured illustrations, the rhyming verse is well though out and our three year has no problem in being able to "guess" the lines following

Palo Morgan has produced a book that is both richly comic, beautifully illustrated and sits well upon any childrens shelf as a book to both treasure and read many times over

I absolutely loved this book. I love cats to begin with, but the story was excellent. My favorite cat was the one who has his eyes and mouth wide open. The drawings are awesome-this is a must have book for anyone!!
