An important and very moving work

I started listening to this audio book because the Hole in the Wall Camp is nearby and as it is a charity we sometimes contribute to, I wanted to know more. I was expecting perhaps a documentary type work or something somewhat depressing but it was exactly the opposite. The stories are so moving and create a better understanding of what these authors, these children, have in their hearts and embrace in thier lives.

Fasinating Book.

This was a great book. It told me why snakes shed their skin and other interesting facts about reptiles. I use it when I want something interresting to read an fun. If you like snakes and rpetiles read this book.

Solid Interpretation of Romans 7

This confused and easily misinterpreted and applied text of Scripture is clearly unraveled in this scholarly, yet very readable work.

Middendorf has adept capabilities both with the Greek of the New Testament text as well as the scholarly opinions on this text, and he summarized them well.

The opposing opinions other than the apostle Paul as the "I" are each weighed through as to the evidence from the Scriptures, i.e. the "I" as Adam, Israel, transpersonal and combinations of these are all looked at in the pro-con format.

Realizing that what one takes from this text will then greatly affect one's whole approach to Pauline theology, this book succinctly points one in the correct direction.

Delicious nonsense

I haven't read such delicious nonsense in much too long. Shaffer takes fresh look at something that you see every day, and slides it sideways into total silliness. It's done with effortless sleight of hand, one little step at a time.

Story entertains as it teaches.

This is the second I'm Safe! book I've bought for my daughter, who is 6. She loves hearing about Kip and Kayla, the brother and sister in the book. In I'm Safe! In the Water, Kayla and Kip get to take swimming lessons; however Kayla is a little afraid of the water. We are taken along with them on their first class, and by learning what to expect to happen during her swim classes, my daughter's own fears were allayed. In the story, Kayla is given a water situtation in which she does not feel helpless, thus, the next time she goes to her swim class, she is not scared. That is the crux of the I'm Safe! series: teaching children how to respond to situations that they may be unsure of, or may find scary. The Gordon's do this in such a way that the reader is never scared, but feels empowered right along with Kip and Kayla. I recommend these books highly, and so does my daughter.
