How Soils Work is a unique hit!
Never before have I seen a work on soils and crops so uniquely tied to the principle of mutualism, which the books shows is indeed the basis upon which plants, soils, and roots thrive. So much of this information is brand new, and cannot be found in conventional texts, or is just becoming available. I give it a "five" rating for ingenuity in showing how the microbes on the root surface are the real powerhouses for plant growth and health.

A Life Changing Book
My husband was a severe asthmatic. He had been hospitalized several times and nearly died. He was only 25 years old! After the asthma attacks, he would be so weak and debilitated he could barely walk. He was unable to work for months. Our lives revolved around his ability to breathe without wheezing. After hearing Mr. Sorvino on a talk show, I got this book for my husband. After learning the breathing exercises, my husband has not had an asthma attack in three years! Even today, he still uses these exercises. This book totally changed our lives. My thanks to Mr. Sorvino for sharing his story with us.

How to Choose a Youth Pastor

Well worth reading by pastors and youth candidates alike
This book pulls together important aspects a church board needs to consider before putting someone in charge of the youth in their flock. Youth worker candidates should read it to know what churches are looking for and how best to align themselves for effective youth ministry positions through proper training, education, and heart preparation. This book won't hire the right person for you, but will help you see the overall picture and what it really takes for effective youth ministry to occur in the life of your church. It's unfortunate that it is no longer in print so if you find a copy of it somewhere...BUY IT!

How to Cope With People Who Drive You Crazy

Guides you to think and act more clearly and be direct .
I must have read many 10's of self-help books during the past 20 years in an effort to sort out in my mind, how to interact with people in such a way that I do not compromise my own true feelings, whilst at the same time be fair with those same people.
I should explain that at various times in my life I have attended church (Protestant) partially in an effort to learn the 'Christian way' of working with people.
I constantly heard that you should show love, turn the other cheek and so on.

Well, I tried this way many times in and to be fair, it has had it's share of success in that people have reciprocated likewise. However, there are many people who look upon the attitude of showing Christian love as a weakness and I feared laughed behind my back. To add to the insult I despaired and felt angry that 'the Christian way' did not work consistently.
It was so refreshing to find Dr Hauck's book in my local lending library that I read it straight through in one sitting.
I had heard of 'assertiveness' previously, but it all seemed too complicated in that much thought had to be given before you replied during dialogue with others.
Whereas, with Paul Hauck's version, you sort your whole fairly simple philosophy beforehand and then act in accordance.
This book also showed me just how silly some of my thinking had been wrong over the years. For example, I totally feared being rejected. Dr Hauck put it quite simply that rejection was not the worst thing in the world to fear and life could still go on quite successfully.
He had me 'in the palm of his hand' by now and sure enough I changed my attitude to that advocated by the author with a close member of my family. Previously, I did everything in my power to stop a split between us and suffered by that person(s) thinking they could do what they liked and I would always be there. I disliked myself for allowing me to be treated that way.
Along came this book and I sorted myself out and changed my attitude and 'took on' this person(s) in a way that left my self-esteem intact.
I have to report that the person(s) has indeed rejected me, which is sad, but I can now see that it is not the absolute end of the world as I had previously thought.
If the person(s) concerned want to come back into my life sometime in the future, it will be on an understanding that it must be mutually beneficial and not just satisfactory for them. As Paul Hauck states they have been shown some 'tough love'.
I am so convinced that Dr Hauck has the best approach for human relationships as we understand them at this time that I went out and purchased 5 copies of his other titles.
One vitally important point is that this author does not use 100 words when 20 will do. I wish that I could meet this author face to face so that I could tell him that he has helped me 'grow up' in my dealings with others many years ahead than would have been the case I not visited my Library on that particular day.
Thank you Dr Hauck from the bottom of my heart.

I Love This Book!!
This book is fantastic. It is different from any other astrology book I have read. It explains in a very understandable way how the planetary lineup on your date of birth affects your energy exchange and compatiblity with others. Using the information in this book, I have charted compatibility on ex-boyfriends, ex-husbands, couples I know, family members, co-workers, and so far it has been 100% accurate. I will never again enter into a relationship without referring to this book (it takes about 5 minutes to check a persons compatibility). I continue referring to it and I keep it on my coffee table at all times. This book really changed my life, in that it has proven so accurate that if I meet someone on the internet, I ask them their birthdate and automatically know if it is worth continuing the friendship. The only thing missing in the book is that it does not say anything about people born on a cusp. Otherwise, it is excellent, and I know that this is a book that I will use for the rest of my life.

How to Make a Book: An Illustrated Guide to Making Books by Hand
Published in Hardcover by Gaff Pr (July, 1993)
Author: John Paul Barrett
Amazon base price: $17.50
Average review score:

...a marvelous book...
This is a marvelous book, of potential interest to writers, small press and self-publishers, teachers, students, artists, or anyone who has an interest in cheap, effective methods for putting together books by hand. Barrett learned how to put books together through years of trial and error, and provides for the reader all of his hard-learned lessons and hints. He departs from standard hand sewing methods in several respects; always in the direction of practicality, minimizing costs and maximizing production. This is not a guide to making fine press books; there is no information included on purchasing and working with decorative papers, sewing headbands, fine press layout and format, inclusion of silk markers, decorative typefaces, etc. Instead, it is a hands-on guide describing how to put books together with the simplest methods and tools. Almost anyone would already have in their home most of the tools and supplies his method requires.. Of most interest to me were the first five chapters, wherein Barrett discusses physically building the book. Subsequent chapters include information on copyrighting, publicity, pricing, etc. The author is personable; throughout he shares his bookmaking philosophies, which sometimes carry over into philosophies of life. For that reason--the chance you have to hear from a craftsman in his own words--I recommend the later chapters, though if one is serious about marketing and publicity, one should go to John Kremer's "1001 Ways to Market Your Books" and "Book Publishing Resource Guide"; or the old standby, "The Self-Publisher's Manual" by self-publishing guru Dan Poynter. "How to Make a Book" belongs on the shelf with Merritt Clifton's "The Samisdat Method" as an invaluable resource to small publishers and would provide a wonderful compliment to existing how-to books such as Poynter's "Publishing Short-Run Books," A.W. Lewis' "Basic Bookbinding" or Pauline Johnson's "Creative Bookbinding." Highly recommended. -- C. Darren Butler -- Writer's Keeper--PYX Pres
