Face Reading: Can You Face the Facts? (Elements of the Extraordinary)

Great Starter Book
For the esoterical-interested, this is a good book. This book provides the reader with basic information to help with learning the ancient Chinese art of face reading. Along with the specific instructions telling what-means-what comes a nice storyline. Your teacher is an elderly Chinese woman, and she leads you through the learning process. For the more advanced face-reader, this may not be a particularly helpful book, however, this book was my introduction into the *mystical arts* and is a great choice for the beginner.

More details on the Chinese worldview
From the author of the excellent Do It Yourself Feng Shui, this is a brilliant sequel. Featuring the same character (a half Chinese boy) and a new magical mentor (Auntie Feng), it explains how face reading is about understanding what goes on UNDER the skin. A wonderful way to encourage children to look at the world around them with new, and critical eyes. Simply divine.

Faces represents extraordinary insight into complex issues.
Paul Thompson touches sensitive issues in black and white with "Faces." The African American expereince in America is still being defined. This effort embodies the sincere reflections and insight of an African American looking backwards and forward at the same time. I think it is exceptional and the audio tapes make it convienent. Dr. Bill Adkins, Senior Pastor Greater Imani Church Memphis, Tennessee

Paul Thompson gives an unfiltered view of African-Americans.
Insightful, new angles and completely honest and unfiltered views of the current status of African-Americans, Paul Thompson's Faces Pressed Against the Glass is the first book in 30 years that gives views of African-American culture in terms not chosen by the media or the majority culture. I particularly appreciated Thompson's unique phrasing and his willingness to tackle black subjects that media-chosen black writers are frightened of. A great set of tapes that I hope will soon be in book form on all shelves.

Quotes from Bible
I have been reading the book A Fail Safe Way for you to Receive the Holy Spirit. It is really interesting. I just want to point out a scripture out,Revalations 1:5 and from Jesus Christ who is the faithful witess and the first begotten of the dead and the prince of Kings of the earth unto him that loved us and washed us from sins in his own blood. The book that I am reading say that by believing that John baptized Jesus, your sins were passed on to Him and that His blood was the judgement and forgiveness for all your sins, Then you will receive the Holy Spirit. So this books an the others I would recommend to all.

I BELIEVE IT
SATAN CAUSES PEOPLE TO FALL UNDER INFLUENCE OF SUPERSTITIOUS BELIEFS AND TAKES THEM AS SUPERNATURAL MIRACLES AND WONDERS BY CAUSING THEM TO THINK THAT THEIR EXPERIENCES ARE MORE VALUABLE THAN RECEIVING THE INDWELLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT THROUGH THE FAITH IN THE BEAUTIFUL GOSPEL. I TRUST WHAT IS IN THE BOOKS THAT PAUL C.JONG WRITES,,,,IF IT WASN'T FOR HIS BOOKS I WOULD PROBABLY NOT EVEN PICK UP THE BIBLE AN READ.THOSE BOOKS HAVE HELPED ME REALIZE THAT THERE IS A "GOD" AN WHOEVER WANTS TO MAKE IT PLAINER TO THE PUBLIC IN THEIR OWN WAY THEN I AM ALL FOR IT,.IT HAS HELPED ME A LOT,ANSWERED THINGS FOR ME THAT I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND.I THANK THE GOOD LORD FOR SENDING THEIR MINISTRY TO MY E-MAIL BOX,. THANK YOU PASTOR SHIN,PASTOR KIM. THERE IS NO SATAN IN MY HOME,THERES NO ONE TELLING ME WHAT TO WRITE,THIS REVIEW COMES FROM MY HEART.I LIVE FOR JESUS AN CAN SAY THAT PAUL C.JONG MADE THAT POSSIBLE FOR ME.I READ THE BIBLE BUT DON'T UNDERSTAND MOST OF IT,SO THE BOOKS HAVE COME IN HANDY FOR ME. BELIEVE IT OR NOT!

An absolutely wonderful book
I had to read this book over this past summer for Leadership Team on my college campus and loved this book. The chapters are short so it is easy to put the book down if something arises (you won't want to though...) and the lessons and insight is simply wonderful. I think that anyone that is of college age or older should read this book and try to take the lessons learned to heart. It reveals the wonder of God and the depth of his love and power like few books I know, and I can't fully explain my love for this book. A definite must read for anyone serious about strengthening and developing their faith! :-)

A Must Have For Christians
If you don't want to be challenged as a Christian, do not buy this book. The writers cover many areas of the Christian life from faith to fellowship to what it means to truly be a follower of Jesus. The writing is down to earth and honest . These people have lived what they write about and do not pretend to be super-saints. Every chapter ends with suggestions for further reading which is invaluable. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a deeper, more committed Christian life.

Gripping Tale of London's Poor Laced With Violence
Without question, Paul Theroux has been among our most astute observers of human nature writing in the English language. In "The Family Arsenal", a terse, compelling look at crime in London's slums, Paul Theroux takes an unflinching, often brutal, look at the interplay between adverse poverty and crime. Furthermore he adds to this compelling mixture an intriguing look at IRA terrorism being waged on the streets of London. All of this is told through vivid, well-crafted prose. Fans of Paul Theroux's work will not be disappointed with his latest fictional excursion into an abyss of contemporary Western society.

From the dark side of life...
Theroux has always been an unflinching narrator on human nature. With a novel like Mosquito Coast he gave you a look at the mind of a genius and his estrangement to materialism. With The Family Arsenal, Theroux gives you a look at the close knit troubles of family life in the slums of London, and the frightening results of sudden violence that can arrupt at any moment. A haunting portrait of a society on the downward trend towards hell on earth.

Every body I know bought this book.
This is the most important 20 dollars I ever spent. This book is a gem. You will NOT be dissapointed. Easy for people knew to homeopathics. Take my word for it, you won't regret it, and you'll be thrilled with the results.

Great Investment
I absolutely LOVE this book. I have refered to it many, many times and found an obscure remedy in it that helped my asthma for a time. I love this book, it's great for putting your finger on which remedy to use. Absolutely the first book i'd recommend for a new user of homeopathy, and a someone more experienced. After the medica meteria, this is the best book you could have, and i've looked at, checked out and read quite a few.

Fare Play

Author: Barbara Paul
Amazon base price: $31.50

An exceptional mystery writer
The Marian Larch series deserves to be reprinted in its entirety someday soon. They are excellent mysteries and the lead character has realistic professional and personal relationships that are intricately interwoven together (just like real life...). For those of us who are Blakes 7 fans, Larch's mysterious lover is not only based upon Avon (played by Paul Darrow in the sci-fi series) but the entire book, dedicated to the B7 fandom, has a number of B7 "in jokes". Delightful reading!

Fare Play offers a more than fair return for your money
Barbara Paul was a professor at University of Pittsburg and her love of writing shows in this well plotted, absorbing mystery. Newly promoted Lieutenant Marian Larch is confronted with a conundrum- why would anyone kill a harmless old man? Was it a mistake or is there a hiden motive? She confronts male prejudice on the job, pressure as the affluent and not so innocent threaten lawsuits as Marian presses closer to the truth. Paul skillfully mixes humor with suspense- Marian is invited to the "best man" at her former partner's wedding. To further complicate her life Marian's former lover re-enters her life. All of the characters are gems- from the priest who mixes up the wedding, to her partner's future battle ax mother-in-law Paul develops complex and believable characters. If you like this one also read the highly suspenseful, gritty You Have the Right to Remain Silent- Marian has to investigate the murder of four executives!, and read all of the Larch series. Barbara Paul is the best mystery writer and most underrated mystery novelist in America. Rereading it was as great a pleasure the second and third times as the first because I could appreciate skillful settings, character, plot development and the graceful writing! An underrated gem!

poems of contemplation - on the minute just gone
These poems are gems. They are exquisitely crafted and speak to the moment just passed - much like the vision seen from the window of one train passing another. Only with this book in hand you will be able to re-visit the moments any time you choose. This poet is able to find and articulate the 'blink of an eye' in which we understand the shared questions in our lives. The small minutes that show us life's larger concerns are here, in the spare lyrical lines of a writer of great skill and wisdom. Read the poems of Paul Haenel. You'll wish there were more.

A book of poems about loss, memory and life
This book and this work comes from the sad, still place that good poetry comes from. In a calm and carefully crafted collection that spans almost twenty years, Paul Haenel has written a wonderful book. Read this book of poems on the porch of a lakeside cottage and enjoy.

Fear and Anxiety: Primary Triggers of Survival and Evolution

From anguish to joy
The "basic restlessness", germ of anxiety, is according to Paul Diel, the common characteristic feature to all living beings, for it is determined by their dependence on an external world which may oppose obstacles against the satisfaction of vital needs. This book shows us with a catching precision in which way does, at the human stage, take place the reversal of anguish, nonetheless the driving force for evolution, into pathological anguish with all its individual and social consequences. But moreover, it shows the way in which pathological anguish can be overcome, and dynamically reverted into joy.

Great book!
This is a really great book. I've read all of them in the series. Libby hears a man named Franz play the fiddle and knows he's really good. But Libby feels that he has a secret that he's keeping back from everyone. Libby, Caleb, and Peter try and find out what it is. Then Franz's violin is stolen and they have three suspects.

I really like the ending, especially what Libby is thinking in her mind. (Can't tell you what!) You've got to read this book!
