A faithful account of what it takes to build peace
A professional mediator and former director of Mennonite Conciliation Service reveals honestly and thoughtfully the heart and guts of the work required for reconciliation. Each chapter weaves stories from personal experience, with scripture and practical advice, into a conclusion. He tells stories that we need to hear. It's an important journal and a helpful guide.

What if God Himself was the defendant?
If you liked the movie as much as I did, then you'll love the book. It's hard to put down and a great read. The characters Mitch Kendrick and Victoria Thorne and J.T. Quincy seem to be more fully developed here. And here ol Vicki is seen as a real femme fatale -- testimony to the Lalonde bros.' genius! As Mitch himself wonders, how can a woman so beautiful be so evil? During the trial, Vicki tries to egg God on by saying, in effect, "Come on out and defend Yourself, you &%$#!@* coward!" And He does, in the form of eerie silence which has EVERYBODY silent! It really makes you think about a trial in which God Himself is the accused. At the end of the novel, the Antichrist summons Vicki and that judge into his office and sends them to jail. Why? Read the book and you'll find out! Or even better still, see the movie if you haven't already!

The Junkers
I bought this book many years ago, but I didn't for some reason read it until now.
I loved the story and I really recommend you to read it. Even if the book was written in 1968 the story is still valid today year 2001.
The plot is starting in a devided Berlin 1963, but is looking back to the characters lives between the two wars and during World War II.

Exciting and full of interesting facts on an interesting sub
I had to read Kathy for a school project. It was very interesting and I enjoyed it very much. I would like an update on Kathy Millers life though. How she is doing and what she is doing. It was a great book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Very Good Book for Children or Collectors to own!
Although this book is short at about 32 pages or so, it has some very good pitures of the Minnesota Star baseball player and all around good person; very charitible and always has time for people. Not many books out on this person, so get it if you can!

Review
This is a great book for the novice gardener--whether you're an "innie" or an "outie" (where you garden--indoors or out). It has great ideas for kids gardening, such as fun containers (like tennis shoes) and a living teepee (poles with runner beans). I found it very helpful and informative for the layperson's interest in beginning gardening, as well.

This book is an excellent source for teachers.
I have used this book as a source for a workshop I do for early childhood educators. It has excellent ideas and ways of presenting musical concepts. The book content leans a little to the older ages (6-8), rather than the early childhood population. However, it is still valuable for early childhood educators.

May be hard to find, but worth the look"
This book is now 7 years old and may be a little hard to find but perhaps you could find it in a used bookstore as I did. The plot is very easy to follow and the characters are all very believeable. Paul Bishop is a veteran homicide cop in Los Angeles (at least he was at the time of this book). The book revolves around the death of a woman who's fingerprints identify her as someone who was murdered 18 years before. The woman's ex- husband may or may not have done the deed. Fey Croaker the lead investergator on the case is one tough cop. The book has a lot of twists and is a pretty quick read. If you like police novels and who-done its, you'll really like this one.

prowlin and yowlin on the bayou
Those luminous yellow eyes watching me, that's what I remember most clearly about this fascinating dark little tale. I checked out The King of the Cats from the public library when I was eight years old and staying with my grandmother. I've never forgotten it. An old man walking home through the louisiana bayou night sees a ghostly funeral procession of cats comes home to his tarpaper shack and tells his old wife about it. Watch their big tomcat's eyes as he tells the story. In these days of the blatant scary fiction of R.L Stine and Goosebumps The King of the Cats is subtle, beautiful, and foreboding in a sort of mesmerizing way that is truly uncommon in children's literature. I don't know if it is, but is has the feel of an old oral folk tale, worn smooth to its most basic elements by years of telling. At eight, I loved it, at twenty four, I still love it.
