Best Book on the Astrological Sun
Contents summary: The mythological Sun (43pp). The astrological Sun (32pp). Aspects to the natal Sun delineated (89pp). The natal Sun in the twelve houses delineated (25pp). The natal Sun in the twelve signs delineated (23pp). The esoteric Sun (13pp). Conclusion (4pp).

This is a classic, in-depth, entirely serious, spiritually-focused work on the Sun in the birth chart, first published 1991, whose reprinting in late June 2002 was long overdue. Completely free from celebrity chart analyses and other such filler material; concise, solid and intelligent writing throughout. Paul relegates the Sun signs to a small fraction of the total interpretations he covers; yet what he writes about them is accurate and insightful. Essential reading for any committed student of astrology. His aspect interpretations cover every major aspect type separately, unlike those in almost all other 'single planet'-focused textbooks, which tend to just discuss the two bodies concerned in aspect generally.

Excellent! A must for all who believe in Christ!
When I was reading this book, I kept on praying to God to forgive my pride and ignorance of overlooking the very deep and wide meaning Christ put into the Lord's Prayer. Now I agree with what Martin Luther said, as quoted by the author, that "I am convinced that when a Christian rightly prays the Lord's Prayer at any time...their praying is more than adequate." and what Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, that "The Lord's Prayer is the quintessence of prayer. A disciple's prayer is founded on and circumscribed by it."

In short, it is a book that no real Christian should miss. Actually, I nearly missed it. Thanks to God, I didnt, because I came across the following on the back cover:-

"Lord, Teach Us to Pray is biblically sound, spiritually rich, and intellectually stimulating. Boers shows the "Our Father" as prayer that is as wide as it is deep: it embraces all humanity's yearnings and touches the inner depths of the human heart. "

Lord, Who Are You? the Story of Paul and the Early Church

Author has excellent ability to make scripture come to life.
I have recently read Mark Link's three book set on the old testament, new testament, and Acts of the Apostles. Fr. Link has an amazing ability to draw excerpts of scripture together to make them come to life. He also includes contemporary writers and archeological background to help interpret the scriptures. After reading all three books, I spent a month going back and forth between them reading relevant and related parts in each book. The most intriguing to me was "Lord Who are you" because of it's emphasis on the early Christian church and the struggles of the apostles. Excellent work.

Los Angeles Fire Department: A Century of Service

Even those who aren't "fire-buffs" will love this book!
Paul Ditzel is the undisputed Dean of Fire Service authors - and this is certainly his finest effort. It's a fabulous book for the coffee table or den. If you are a Firefighter (or ever dreamed of being one), this is your book.

Even those who aren't "Fire Buffs" will fall in love with this book and Paul's writing style. You just can't put it down! I've read the book cover to cover three times, and still enjoy skimming through the hundreds of pictures and re-reading the often dramatic text.

I got goosebumps as I "rode along" with Los Angeles Firefighters on some of their most harrowing adventures. Even if you have never been to Los Angeles, you'll learn of the city, its people - and the LAFD heroes that save us from disaster on an almost annual basis.

One great read... and a bargain to boot!

Los Ultimos Dias De America/the Last Days of America
Published in Paperback by Ultramar Editores, S.A. (June, 1982)
Author: Paul E. Erdman
Amazon base price: $9.25

Excellent, hard-to-put-down book
Paul has written a rivetting account of what COULD happen if America does not remain watchful. Although told as a fiction its backdrop is as real as could be. This is a book about how some European countries conspire to hoodwink USA into obtaining missle-delivery systems directly from a defense company. Swiss (as recent revelations confirm) are not as pristine and neutral as may seem. Read on for an exciting account

Losing Paradise: The Growing Threat to Animals Our Environme
This is a recent publication by Paul Erwin, President and CEO of the Nation's largest animal protection organization, the Humane Society of the United States, with seven million members. Mr. Irwin has written a landmark book for the layman and clearly presents irrefutable evidence that humankind is on a reckless collision course with the Earth. He presents an alarming and compelling look at how critical the situation is today for our resources, our endangered wildlife, and for human life itself. Never in the history of our planet is it more important for the information in this book to reach millions of readers. It would behoove all of humanity, from housewives to board members of mega international corporations, to heed these warnings.

In Losing Paradise the author paints a shocking picture of the degree to which greed and recklessness have already devastated this planet. My feeling while reading this book was that it is becoming not so much a struggle to save paradise, but to salvage the wasteland we have created of that paradise. As a single example, the clearcutting of ancient forests all over the world is threatening to wipe out future medicines before scientists are given the opportunity to harvest the plant specimens. These magnificent rainforests are being destroyed with total abandon along with possible cures for cancer or other incurable diseases of mankind.

However, the author also offers the hope of solutions and simple and effective steps that can and must be taken if life as we know it can continue on this planet.

I would strongly urge anyone interested in the environment, in the future, and in the future for their children and their progeny to read this compelling book on the dire threats to our earth and all living things on it.

Great Read!
When I first heard about Lou's latest book, Losing That Lovin' Feeling, I felt I had no need to read it. Twenty-two years after my divorce, I felt that I was an "all right" person with some pretty good coping skills. Whoa!! Was I ever wrong!
Using Biblical principles, Lou explores a plethora of feelings that encompass our past, our present and our FUTURE as singles. Reading this book is enabling me to deal in a God-honoring way with these feelings.
This book is a great read--one you'll want to keep and recommend to others. Get your highlighter out and be ready to use it as you read!

lost churches of wales and the marches
This book is excellent for anyone living in or visiting wales.the sites are unusual as most of the churches are abandoned ruins in picturesque settings and worth exploring. the authors have compiled a variety of interesting stories relating to the churches and also give exact details of how to find them. Also they have supplied a good itinery of other interesting sites in the area.
good value for money, nicely illustrated, well written and clearly presented.
