As a long time visiter to the Owens Valley I found this book to be excellent. Its great for the first time traveler or the person who has been to the valley many times. Its section on side roads is good for those passing through the area and wanting to explore a bit. The history and geology areas are current and answer those questions that arise when encountering the vast numbers of different geological features. While no one guide does it all this book comes close. A great book for those who want a general guide to the valley, its history,geology,flora and fauna.

This is a book everyone interested in American politics should have. It covers a broad range of subjects (Federalism, the media, interest groups, etc.). The book is especially good for those interested in having basic knowledge these themes. A comprehensive bibliography at the end of each chapter is for those who want to go further. Contains nice tables and illustrations as well.

When you look at a picture of Gerard Depardieu or see one of his earlier films, his appearance & mannerisms are generally sloppy and well, not very attractive. However, as you read through Paul Chutow's book, DEPARDIEU, you quickly learn there's a whole lot more to this famous French actor than just his nose. Yet, even though there is wonderful complexity, you will find yourself drawn into wanting to discover what is in this one man's heart. Paul Chutow's gives us a brief glimpse worth reading!

I read this book in one day, as I could not put it down! Okay, so I was previewing it as a possible supplemnet to our Confirmation class and had a deadline to finish it by, but still, it is really that good! Everything in it is orthodox, so no worries there. And it includes so much about our faith! Stories about Christ, references to scripture, the lives of saints and lining Catholics, all of whose stories are fascinating and inspiring to young Catholics, how people sruggle with and live out their faith, everything! I highly recommend this book for all teenagers, as well as to adults. It is very well written, will not bore you, and holds so much helpful informtaion! A+
