More than just a Newcomer's Handbook
The Newcomer's Handbook for Chicago offers a thoroughly detailed guide to making the move to the Windy City. Not only was it informative, but it was interesting. I'm going to read other Newcomer's Handbooks for fun and to learn about some other great cities. These books will not disappoint you.

Newcomers Handbook for Chicago
If you are moving to Chicago, this book is BIG help. Very useful info on finding a place to live, rentals, neighborhoods, utilities, services, etc. Covers the city thoroughly, the suburbs less so.

On Fulcrum's Wings

On Fulcrums Wings....an incredible novel.
I loved On Fulcrums Wings, I couldn't put it down. This book changed my life and the way I view war and the military. It was so good to be able read a novel that made you feel like you were actually there. A pilot behind an incredible machine at the brink of war. What an amazing dipiction of tactical operation. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the final outcome. I would recommend the book to anyone who wants a better understanding of what goes on for the soldier and all that is involved in war. Finally, I can only say, how much longer do we have to wait for a second book. Lets hope Mr. Mark Werkema is hard at work creating just that.

Worth Every Page
As an Air Force Fighter Pilot, I thought I might be in for another dull and inaccurate depiction of real tactical operations. How wrong I was! Mr. Werkema has spun an outstanding web of military Operations that is worthy of every page it was written upon. I would highly recommend his book to anyone interested in military operations in the new complex world or warfare.

Cannot Wait For His Next Book!
In this day and age of war and terrorism, I found this book to be especially thrilling. It really made me take a look at how truly dangerous and complex military operations are. After reading "On Fulcrum's Wings", I have a renewed appreciation for those who defend our country.

I highly recommend this book. Although this book is written from a male point of view, I believe that women, too, will find it fascinating.

Origami Sculptures
Published in Paperback by Antroll Pub. Co. (April, 1989)
Authors: John Montroll, Mark Montroll, and Andrew Montroll
Amazon base price: $9.94
Average review score:

Best book by Montroll
If you like John's origami books, this one is a must! I would rate it as my favorite of all of his, and that's saying a lot. In addition to the models mentioned by others, this book has the two bases in it, which I found particularly fun to play with on my own. I used the dog base to fold my own versions of about a dozen different dog breeds. I'm sure any experienced folder could come up with others!

Excellent detail
This, in my opinion, is Montroll's best book out there. The small details of the models are superb, especially the panda bear and the camel. Most of the animals stand up by themselves and make great displays.

The FINEST book of Montroll!!
In this book Montroll not only makes some of the best animal models so far but also creates systems of folding 4-leg animals and 6-leg insects. The folding steps in each model are very natural, with great logic and wits. Montroll is so scintillating in these designs that he creates 2 outstanding origami bases, Montroll's Dog base and Montroll's Insect base. In application of these 2 bases many vivid animals (REALLY VIVID!) are folded and exhibited. Other animals are well-designed too, including a cock, a penguin from the front side, etc. In my opinion, this is the finest among Montroll's origami books.

A wealth of info for the Ferrari junkie
Another strong entrant in the "Original" series, with Bluemel's usual thorough research, beautiful and detailed photography and useful technical info for each model. This book covers the golden era of Ferrari's road cars. Impatiently waiting for the second V-12 book.

Wonderful Book !
As a Ferrari fan,I collect and read many books about Ferrari. This is one of the books that I feel I have got a lot of knowledge. There are more than 220 color photographs and detail introduction about the every car's chassis,transmission,wheel...etc.This book keep the same class of the other one:"Ferrari V8". So,I just can't wait for the other series books ! (Because this book just introduce the cars from 1965 to 1973 !)

This book was a delight!
I bought this book from a second hand store in Australia and loved it! In a space of 3 months I have read it 3 times and refer to it almost daily. It is inspirational, and as a result of this book, I have achieved quite a few goals I had previously thought impossible. If you are in need of some inspiration. positive thoughts and a general "feel-good" read. this is the one. I have since bought a book as a git for a friend who has been feeling miserable - she now has a spring in her step again! Do yourself a favour - read it - every day!

It is the gift I give friends who need to be uplifted.
I bought the book when I was stranded in a small airport with nothing to do and nothing to read. The stories seemed to reach into the dark corners of doubt and I felt an enourmous release. I was going to present new material to an important client and I was extremely nervous. I found that the book made me focus on what I did well, and I found "delight" in the people that I was dealing with. What a difference it made! I now give the book to friends who need to find the balance and delight in their lives.

Everyday wisdom.
'Out of the Blue' is uplifting and full of everyday wisdom, my favorite kind of book. It is a book that falls open at just the right passage to provide valuable insight on whatever is concerning you at the moment. It is also quite capable of jumping off the shelf into your hands if you are browsing while thinking about some problem.

All your pain are belong to us!
To put a long story short, this is a great book. At age 23, I'm out of my teens and just beginning my journey into the dullness popularly referred to as "adulthood".

I must admit to never being an aficionado of poetry, but this book I enjoyed greatly. Every time I read them, poems like "Exasperation" and "Following directions" take me right back to being 15, with all the rage, joy and pubescent angst that comes with it.

Layout-wise I have no complaints. The colors were well chosen, and the illustrations were great :-)

painfully delicious
I really loved the whole idea of the book; there is nothing like being a teenager, no matter what decade the feelings are the same. It is indeed painful..but delicious.

Go To Your Room, This Instant!
I grew out of my teen angst as I grew out of my Cure T-shirt. Where I used to get lost in poetry, now I'm lost in biros and bankstatements. Still-and I don't understand it-'The Pain Tree' is simply my favorite book. Handy-sized, softback, unassuming-and chock full of illustrated treasures!

Reading it takes me right back-in palate, in texture, in sureness of purpose-to my old bedroom, where a young me, loose-limbed and eager, hunches over an inky poem. And probably every one of the twisted illustrations (from the robot in underpants to Ms Watson's vicious spiky boots) is tacked to the bedroom wall.

Yeah, that's what it's like.

Well, I bought three copies. And I don't even know any teenagers. Not a one. But if I get to, I'll give them a copy. I will.

Pass the Excet on Your First Try
I attended many reviews in different areas and received all sorts of study guides. Not to mention the ones that I purchased. This study guide is far superior to any others that I have read. The use of Mr. Mentze's acronyms are excellent. DO NOT pass this one up! This one is a must and place it at the top of your list!

Love those acronyms!! Great study guide!
I really like how the book is arranged with the study information facing the illustrations and key words. It has a great study module in Powerpoint.

It made studying to much easier. I would recommend it to all
It is very easy to follow and remember things with his examples and analogies. I wish studying for college had been so easy.

A book for all parents
This book goes beyond other computer books, including the Dummies' series, to explain the stuff in plain English, with a lot of humor thrown in. I particularly liked the chapter on helping kids think, using the PC--critical thinking..something that's clearly lacking these days...

Computer book combines humor and insight
Despite the title, this book's designed for Dads AND Moms, and it's a good one...well written with a sense of humor...it breaks jargon down to human English..Best chapters were on Developing Critical Thinking Skills, using the PC; Raising a Computer Smart Daughter and Keeping Kids Safe on the Internet...There's also a good primer on buying a personal computer. Any parent wanting to guide their child through the digital age should pick up this book.

Geek-free resource for parents
Excellent down to earth resource for computer ignorant and/or illiterate parents who would like to try to keep up with their children when it comes to the computer.

Play to Live
Published in Paperback by And Books (December, 1982)
Authors: Alan W. Watts and Mark Watts
Amazon base price: $9.95
Used price: $6.00
Average review score:

Joy
This work bristles with the energy of Alan Watts because it truly is the "voice" of Alan Watts, culled from his actual talks and put together with the respectful eye of his son, Mark.

Alan Watts is a joy to read. Like a natural anti-depressant, these illuminating, entertaining words are capsules of ancient teachings framed in language that is readily understood and instantly enjoyed.

Alan Watts was adventurous and peaceful, wise but personable. That essential essence really comes through nicely in this work.

finding stillness in now
This book is small, and I read it in about two days while visiting my boyfriend in some hot springs. I had been stressed out about my future and past, and this book was exactly what i needed. In this, Mark Watts shows you the importance of living in the now, and gives you ways to do it. In one way it is impractical, because in todays world it is all but impossible to not atleast think of the future, but, it does make you more aware of the fear you constantly have inside you, and worry, all based on what may or did happen. Well written and informational, I would reccommend this book to anyone who is the least bit stressed out about anything.

Typical Watts Playing to Live
Play To Live is a book published by Mark Watts, the living son of Alan Watts. Play to Live is a collection of various speechs given by Alan Watts in his living years. Mark is quick to point out in the proloque his fathers philosophy that the spoken word is "entirely different" from the written word. Never having the opportunity to hear Watts live (being too young), and tapes have the same problems of writing, I thoroughly enjoy all of the works I can get my hands on. Play To Live brings forth many of the points found in other watts writings with the special spontinaity of a transcript. Watts discuuses his views of the traps of western society, marriage, the problem of seperate ego, doing good for others, and demonstartes just how fun topics can be. I would recomend this book to anyone who is familiar with Watts work. It is a great opportunity to see Watts attack the same problems from slightly different perspectives. My only regret is I did not get to hear the speeches live. Hope you enjoy as much as is did!

Machi at his best
Aside from being a concise collection of Machiavelli's important political works, this volume serves another great purpose - it shows you a side of Machiavelli never seen before by publishing the HILARIOUS letters to his brother. The letter to his brother about his encounter with a prostitute is absolutely hysterical. This volume provides selections which show you both sides of Machiavelli - the serious political scientist and the satirical, comical human being.

Machiavelli the comedian??? You bet!
Those familiar with his most famous work 'The Prince' may find this hard to believe. In this collection we see a totally different side of the man through; a humorous letter to his brother about an encounter with a less than attractive prostitute, a hilarious short story with a dubious message about marriage and a completely comic play. The nearly 500 years since their appearance does nothing to diminish their comedic value. These three pieces alone make the work worth the money. If that's not enough for you, there are also selections from his famous 'Art of War' and 'The Discourses.' True Machiavelli fans like myself will not want to miss this gem!

machiavelli on the go
A concise collection of machiavelli's work. The editors prefaces were interesting to read thru--aiding inmy understanding of the time period that influnced machiavelli's writing. i came to realizt that i didnt like his work but this book was an easy read thru for me to make that determination
