One of the best.
DPs: Europe's Displaced Persons, 1945-1951 is one of the best written history books about a time often ignored by most authors.

Mark Wyman uses a unique approach that covers all sides involved in the years after World War II, a very traumatic, complex time.

Reading this book it becomes easier to see why so many scars remain for so many people years after the fact.

This book made me cry, it made me remember, it helped me understand myself so I may heal my own DP scars.

For anyone interested in this time of history, this book is a must read.

This book can also help expand understanding and social consciousness of the reader.

It is easy to read, easy to follow and a great social contribution.

Money well Spent !
I've had the book for four years and read it every off season to try and break bad habits. Frank breaks it down to simple terms and is written at a level that is very interesting. Best money spent for a useful tool in my secret tool box! Terry Bolin, Springdale, Ar.

Great
This is the book that first got me interested in religion. It is an outstanding discussion of Comte, Marx & Nietzsche. After reading this, the reader may want to read Kung's Does God Exist? and Baum's Doctors of Modernity: Darwin, Marx & Freud.

Recommended for students of the psychology of dreams
Mark Blechner's The Dream Frontier showcases a century's worth of accumulated wisdom on the examination of dreams and cognitive neuroscience. Drawing upon the knowledge and contributions of Freud, Jung, Sullivan, Erikson, Aserinsky, Kleitman, and Hobson, the result is a deftly worded, analytical, scientifically credible yet personally meaningful understanding of dreams. The Dream Frontier delves deep into dream phenomenology as well as their psychotheraputical value, while raising unanswered questions about unconscious mental life. A fascinating and lucid book and recommended for students of the psychology of dreams and dreaming.

The Dream Jar
The book was beautifully illustrated. The author wrote a very readable story that flowed well. Children will be able to have a glimpse of life as an immigrant child. Checked this out with my 10 year old niece and she would recommend the book to others.

A Gem
This book might be out of print, but I urge you to track it down and read it. It's less than 200 pages. The story will hook you. If you don't fall in love with Anthoula, then something is wrong.

The most honest portrayal of desire
Dreams of Longlasting is the only book I have read that not only manages to convey an image of the world I live in, but also to hold an optimistic view in the end. So many love stories are full of unrealistic characters and situations. In all Medoff's characters, I can see myself or people I know. I have read this book five or six times, and each time Medoff's humor is fresh and his emotion rings true. "Dear God That I'm Pretty Sure Doesn't Exist," the main character prays, "please help me to forget the only person in my life I ever wanted to remember even after I'm dead." Medoff talks about love in a way that is familiar to me and at the same time more noble than any feeling I have ever felt.

An EXCELLENT guide to learning dream interpretation
I really enjoyed this Edgar Cayce guide to dream interpretation. It has something for everyone. I use the symbol dictionary section on a regular basis, but Mark Thurston makes it clear that dream interpretation involves much more than just looking up symbols. I've learned several methods for analyzing and understanding my dreams. Now I can tell when my dreams are desire & fear produced, problem presentations, or compensatory dreams. As an Edgar Cayce guide, the book also explains dream application. In other words, Cayce and Thurston (and Carl Jung) believe we need to act responsibly by applying what we learn from our dreams to our waking lives. A REAL challenge! This book is a "must have" for all students of dream interpretation!

A Dress for Mona

An emotionally wrenching drama
A Dress For Mona is a powerful play by Mark Perry and based upon a true historical account. A Dress For Mona is set in 1982 Iran when the Bahai (an offshoot of Islam and the largest religious minority within Iran) were subjected to brutal prosecution, imprisonment, and even murder. Young Mona is a Bahai believer, and thus a primary target for arrest and execution. Her vision of three dresses, each representing a different direction possible for her life, and her difficult choices between faith and sacrifice are vividly presented in this gripping human account, in many ways a modern-day mirror of the fanaticism portrayed in another great classic, "The Crucible". A Dress For Mona is an absorbing, thought-provoking, and at times emotionally wrenching drama which highly recommended for either personal readings or community theater productions.

Drug Information Handbook for Advanced Practice Nursing

Superior to other References
The Drug Information Handbook for Advanced Practice Nurses is the Nurse Practitioners premiere drug reference. Drugs are arranged alphabetically by both generic and brand name. Each drug is discussed at it's generic listing. Brand names give the generic name and page number allowing quick reference. The content is very encompassing with nearly all new and old drugs referenced. The usual categories of drug name, therapeutic category, use, etc are included. I find the section on patient information and instruction most helpful in discussing agents with patients.

Indices include controlled substance (helpful in states where APN's cannot prescribe controlled substances) and pharmacologic category.

There are over 200 pages of appendices including guidelines and comparative lists and charts.

The size of the book makes it easy to carrry.

This is my third yearly purchase of the The Drug Information Handbook and second year for Advanced Practice Nurses version. Our service bought 12 copies.
