748 Spanish Sentences
The instruction on this tape is very clear and easy to follow. For what the tapes cover the learner can benefit from this introduction to Spanish.

The problem I have with this two tape set though, is that it is not a coherent lesson in learning Spanish. The first tape is pretty much a stand alone introduction to some Spanish. The 748 sentences claimed for these two tapes are really just a combination of about five short phrases mutliplied by about twenty-five verbs and then multiplied by 2 when the word "no" is added.

There are numerous references on both tapes to a book or manual which is not included with the set. The manual referenced on the first tape does not seem to be the same one referenced on the second tape.

There is a distinct break between the two tapes which makes me think the second tape was an afterthought. The second tape begins again with the alphabet and even repeats word for word much of the introduction of the first tape. Furthermore, the second tape seems to end in the middle of a lesson and leave the learner "hanging." I am inclined to think the authors more complete Spanish lessons on tape are more coherent and productive than this two tape set.

Fast, Inexpensive, and Easy
I used the tapes in the car on the way to and from work. Fifteen minutes one way and twenty (depending on traffic). Multiply this times five days a week for two weeks and that's how long it took me to speak more Spanish than my friends who have studied the language
formally in high school and college. Fast results, easy to use, and reasonable price.

Fast and Easy Way to Speak Spanish!
For me '748 Spanish Sentences' provided what was promised. I started learning to speak sentences in Spanish right away. I didn't suffer, nor did I guess. In addition to the English they give you on the tape to let you know what you're learning, the course came with a small yet effective listening guide so I could see how Spanish was written as well.

Helpful, but not complete
This was the doll book I bought when I accidently ended up with two antique dolls. Although there is a wealth of information in this book, my two weren't identified. I now own four antique dolls from England, Belgium, and Germany, and the only one identified in this book is the Armand Marseilles. I'm still looking for a way to identify my other three.

A must have !
A must have..buy dolls or has a collection and needs to find marks, #s, makers, and not just for bisque, but compo and other materials, old dolls to more resent dolls. So full of information
those marks that you thought you'd never find you just might here. You won't go wrong.. and what a price.. Couldn't live without it. Wonderful book.

Exciting addition to any reference library.
This book has hundreds of doll marks and identifications. It has been a superb help in identifying dolls of all kinds. If you buy this one you will use it often.

Simple Read
Not a challenging read. Took me less then a day to read.

Often times, it seemed like either a vessel for the authors views or some over the top campy story.

I'd suggest you wait and buy the book used or read it online.

They just don't get any better than this one!!!!
I have to say, I just finished reading TTA, and,
Mark, this is by far, your greatest work to date! Not that your other
8 (or so) books are not great, as they all have kept me tied to
the chair until they were finished, but I must say, that TTA has
pulled me in more emotional directions than any book in a long
time.

My only regret is that I get so wrapped up in your
novels, that I read them in a 2 day time span and then must wait until the
next one. But as they say, 'good things come to those that
wait', and you are by far, the best voice for the Gay Youth, through your
novels. You take alot of what I felt as a kid and teen, thinking I
was all alone in my thinking, and tell me that I was not alone, and
thank god I survived it, and did not do anything stupid.

Reading your novels, give me hope that one day, we
will all be able to live in peace and safety and be proud of who we
are.

Wonderful story for gay boys of any age!
This latest title in Mark Roeder's Gay Youth Chronicles series is without a doubt his best effort. His characters have been developed and polished until they have the depth and resonance of real people.

The issues the characters tackle are those that are most important to gay people just beginning to deal with their sexuality, regardless of what age that occurs, but will be especially helpful to gay teens who in the reality of our world don't usually have a 'Gay Youth Center' to help them. Thoughts of suicide, loneliness, sex and exclusivity in relationships, and handling issues of religion and homosexuality are all dealt with in a positive and authoritative way.

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll love Jordan, Ralph, and their friends. Don't wait, get this book today!

Good book but less complete than title suggests
The title might make this seem like a fairly comprehensive waterfall guide for three states. It does cover waterfalls of Georgia better than any other book I know of. It's section for Alabama is relatively short. I'm less familiar with Alabama and don't know whether that means the book's coverage is sparser there, or whether there are far fewer waterfalls (or at least far fewer public-viewable ones) in Alabama. But as for Tennessee, the book's title is a bit mislesding to the extent that it would seem to claim general coverage for waterfalls in that state. There are whole good-sized waterfall-rich portions of Tennessee that are completely left out. The north part of the Cumberland Plateau is one part left out and the other is the northern district of Cherokee National Forest. Those areas are more or less as waterfall-rich as their more southerly counterparts that are covered in the book. Also omitted from this book is the Tennessee portion of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, but another book by the same author does cover waterfalls of that park. Another drawback of this book is that it has no index. But the upside is that, in the areas it does cover this book provides good directions to the waterfalls in question and maps in most cases. The maps show contour lines, which makes the trails easier to follow for those who know something about reading topographig maps. For the falls it does cover, it is therefore a good guide. It also has in the middle a section of beautiful photographs, most of them in color. Possibly it is the most comprehensive waterfall guide for Georgia, and I wouldn't konw about Alabama. But as for Tennnessee, there is a much more complete waterfall guide that covers all parts of that state that have waterfalls, and that is WATERFALLS OF TENNESSEE by Gregory Plumb.

The book's table of contents serves as the index: all 125 waterfalls are listed. At $9.95 this book is an exceptional value (8 cents per waterfall).

A Town On The Hassayampa
I enjoyed this book mostly for how easy it was to read. It flowed very well, and wasn't difficult to understand. It was not only educational, but also interesting. There were some dry spots, but that's history for you. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the topic.

Wickenburg typifies Arizona history
This book did a good job of describing the typical Arizona town. I found particularly interesting the way that the book showed an informative amount of backgroung on the progression of this small town without boring the reader. The pictures were a particularly nice touch, especially for me, and other visually-oriented readers like me. This is a must-read for anyone interested in Wickenburg's history, and even for those interested in Arizona history, or the history of the West in general for that matter.

The Town on the Hassayampa:A History of Wickenburg, Arizona
This book is designed to be a textbook as well as a general information book. Each chapter addresses a different issue that is important to Arizona such as water, mining, railroads, ranching and others. I like the way the book is laid out for that purpose. It covers the growth and development for Wickenburg, but will mirror many other towns in Arizona. I especially like the way Mark Pry personalizes the town. He has a good way of presenting history not only as fact, but as living history. A good example is the way he writes of the town's spirit after it had been devastated by the Walnut Grove Dam flood. I would recommend this book to anyone that is interested in the history of Arizona.

101 Stupid Things Salespeople Do To Sabotage Success

Book Review
This book was not too informative. It brushes the top of issues, and provides tips on aspects of selling that are a given for most salesmen.

Laugh and Learn!
This book made me laugh and even though I've been selling for 20 years its tips reminded me that, perhaps, I had forgotten some of the selling techniques I was once so familiar with. The book also helped me to not take myself so seriously; hey, it's only a job! I didn't want an in-depth dissertation on selling, I'll leave that for Hopkins or someone else that always puts me to sleep. Thanks, Mr. Loper.

One of the best!
I highly recommend this superb book, not only to all professional sales people and those interested in sales, but to anyone else, since so much of Loper's sage advice applies to all areas of everyday life. I especially enjoyed the humorous approach that made reading the book not only a learning experience, but highly entertaining as well. It's an easy, informative read and I am now enjoying reading it for the second time.

Avoid This Book
I once believed in the possibility that angels existed and would help a person when they asked for help. I read and followed the material in this book. . . and have spent the past 2 years dealing with the painful, awful results of following the guidance in "Angelspeake." Based on my direct experience, I STRONGLY recommend avoiding this book.

A True Believer
Mark and Griswold are wonderful and so are their books. But first and foremost, these books cannot create faith where there is none. If you do not believe that God exists and do not believe that angels exist, then these books will not be of benefit to you. However, for believers, it is like 'coming home'. For those of us who have been searching for that final link to Him, here it is. Wonderful doors have opened in my life. To the reader who has suffered pain, he is blaming the angels and these books/authors for not solving his/her problems.
Angels never tell you what to do. This reader is experiencing hardship because he is NOT listening to his angels advice. If someone is telling him what to do and it's bad advice, perhaps he has accessed a negative spirit. That's why these books work best when one truly believes in God. When one has made it their 'mission' to hear the words of God and see Him working in their live, they do things like attend church, Bible study, have discussion among peers, with ministers, etc. These books are not to replace religion. But to be used in conjunction with whatever FAITH you are!! Without faith, one will not hear God and upon meditation, they are half doubting they will hear him, will hear their own voice. That is why the reader has had 2 years of struggles. It was the voice of his own conscious mind, not the angels. Regardless of how one access the angels, if one is a deep believer in God Almighty, they will answer.

YOU'LL NEVER GET TIRED OF READING THE ANGELSPEAK BOOKS
THIS IS A BOOK THAT HELPS YOU HEAL THOSE TRAGEDIES OR JUST EVERYDAY PROBLEMS IN YOUR LIFE. PICK UP THIS BOOK AS SOON AS CAN AND BE SURPRISED OF THE RESULTS. SOMETHING DEEP INSIDE THE BOOKS WILL HELP NO MATTER HOW YOU'RE HURTING. I'VE READ THIS BOOK A FEW TIMES AND GET MORE OUT OF IT EACH TIME. DON'T WAIT FOR THOSE EVERYDAY PROBLEMS OR THE TRAGEDIES IN LIFE TO GET YOU. GET THE BOOK NOW. YOU'LL BE SURPRISED AT HOW YOU FEEL AFTER READING IT. YOU KNOW THE ANGELS ARE GODS MESSENGERS.

Fallen "Author"
I have been a member of Prophet's church for a long time. I have read this work and don't know why she puts her name on it. All of her works were written by her late husband, Mark Prophet, or the Ascended Masters. She just writes down what they tell her to write down. She's a puppet. Usually secretaries don't get writing credits, do they? I'm tired of this fraudulent self-appointed Guru putting her name on everything as if she wrote it. She does not write her own books and she did not write this one. Other than that, it is a good book.

This reminds me what life's all about
This is a great book. This guy must've been a great guy. He talks about the whole point of life and what we're supposed to do while we're here. He's kind of funny in some places, too.

An Insightful and Delightful Roadmap
While I am skeptical of many aspects of the work of Mrs. Prophet, I found this book by her late husband a real gem. It contains many practical spiritual truths, told with great insight and a gentle sense of humor. After many years on the "path," this is one of those metaphysical books I picked up thinking, "Oh well, it's small and cheap, what the heck!" I ended up loving every page! I would enjoy seeing more of Mark Prophet's work in print. Are you reading this, Summit Lighthouse? :)

1601 And Is Shakespeare Dead (The Oxford Mark Twain)

Authors: Mark Twain and Shelley Fisher (Series Editor) Fishkin
Amazon base price: $28.00
Used price: $33.88
Average review score:

A perhaps deservedly forgotten work
There are two unrelated pieces by Mark Twain in this volume, both of them fallen into (or perhaps, never rose from) obscurity, and deservedly so. "1601" is an lewd & raunchy imaginary conversation at the court of Elizabeth I. The narrator is disgusted by what he has heard -- the author partly shares the disgust and partly is fascinated with the fact that raunchy talk was not always taboo. This story has value as a look into Victorian sensibilities and into Twain's personality, but I did not enjoy reading it. I found it tedious, like Chaucer's Miller's Tale.

"Is Shakespeare Dead?" is a wonderful but misleading title. Actually this piece is about the old controversy of whether Shakespeare wrote the works attributed to him, with Twain jousting for the Baconian cause. He admits at the outset that he originally developed his Baconian prejudice merely for the sake of argument with an ardent Avonian. This work adds nothing useful to the Baconian position, and would be of interest only to the most ardent collectors of Twainiana.

1601 very lewd and very funny
1601 recounts a naughty fireside chat between Shakespeare and other noteworthy english figures. Twain writes the entire text in a basterdized version of middle english spelled phoneticly. It is quite funny but difficult to read and rather course. In the second half of the book Twain argues that Francis Bacon wrote Shakespeare's plays. It is a prime example of Twain's wit and one long gentlemanly slight against Shakespeare.

Probably the funniest thing ever written.
Yes, this IS a fart joke. In fact, rumor has it that Twain's poker buddies were its first readers. The then Sec'y of the Army had West Point Press publish it.The transcendant skill and humor raises this to greatness, despite the subject. In fact, Twain probably took this as a huge challenge.Keep it from the youngest until they can appreciate it, but read it aloud alone together every Valentine's day.

Interesting insight by Nesbitt
Being a fan of Mark Nesbitt's Ghost of Gettysburg book series I was sold on the idea of reading his new book that told of two soldiers of opposing armies brought together at Gettysburg. Nesbitt's approach to telling the diaries of two soldiers written on similar dates was a great idea though I found that the Union story of Private Horner lacked the details compared to his opposition Confederate Private Ware. Ware's details seem to blur Horner's quick and rather limited writing. Both soldiers certainly write about the marching and battle while Nesbitt tries to balance army movements with historical backing and concepts. I found the maps helpful but often hard to follow because they were photos of very detailed maps that made things hard to read in black and white. Had they been less of detail or re-drawn for the book as other history books it would have been much easier to comprehend. As much as I am a fan of Nesbitt's work I found myself reading this book and wanting more detail as the book is a very quick read. I would have liked to give this book 3.5 Stars though Amazon's rating system doesn't allow for halves.

35 Days to Gettysburg
I really liked this book. This book is great for people who like history. This book is about two men and their diaries. The book is also about the battle of Gettysburg.

An up-close and personal a view of America's deadliest war
35 Days To Gettysburg: The Campaign Diaries Of Two American Enemies by Civil War enthusiast Mark Nesbitt features the daily journal entries of two ordinary soldiers caught up in the American Civil War: Thomas Lewis Ware, a Confederate from rural Georgia; and Franklin Horner, a Union soldier from Pennsylvania coal land. Their various perspectives and recorded experiences (sometimes conflicting, sometimes all too parallel), lead up to one of the bloodiest battles in the entire four year conflict, are vividly recounted with meticulous notes and a comprehensive index in this truly fascinating compilation. 35 Days To Gettysburg is a superbly presented primary source offering an up-close and personal a view of America's deadliest war, and a truly welcome and much appreciated contribution to the growing library of American Civil War studies.
