Delightful rhyming story, holds up under multiple readings!
This is my 8-year-old son's favorite book. The story of the Bobbity brothers' big squabble, which leads to Henry's disappearance and Billy's journey through a very funny future-world to find him, entranced David the first time we read it, at age six -- and has continued to entrance him through hundreds of readings since. The meter and rhyme of the text, the inventive word-play, and the charming illustrations (LOADED with details that are fun to find) all combine to make a book you won't mind reading again and again.

Excellent reading for fans of ancient modern history. This is the story Disney ought to have made the film from!

Some good drug free techniques.
I liked the idea of being positive by listening to positive tapes before going to sleep. I had known that listening to tapes under your pillow was perhaps effective for some psychological processes like learning. I had seen this in movies and TV shows. But this book showed me real use of listening that really improved my mood.

Other suggestions for beating depression were good too. And there were so many I think anyone almost would find a cure in these pages.

his early plays are his best
Mark's earlier plays are often forgotten next to his Children of a Lesser God. It's tragic though because he wrote exceptional early work. My favorite is The Heart Outright. I loved it because it's one of the only few plays that really show a love of movies. The main character is a movie bum like myself.:) When you Comin back Red Ryder, though is written in the style of the melodramatic western...which I think was very clever. The trilogy is some of the best work of the theatre.

Extraordinary Sacred Cows?
Raunchy but delicious spoof of contemporary Sacred Cows. Certainly qualifies for a subtitle like "Extraordinary People doing extraordinary things to other Extraordinary People."

Don't limit your life because your a "business man"
If you've been limiting your life because you feel as though you're a "business man" and have compartmentalized work and spirituality as two different arenas. You need to read Mark Bryant's book and see that this business man found inner resources and practical applications in the holistic arena as well as a way to integrate various life paths such as relationships, parenting and personal growth. This book is touching, spirtually balanced and filled with love and compassion. It's also filled with practical guides and/or "hidden assets" to transform your life! I highly recommend this book as a great reference piece, bridging a gap between the staunch businessman and/or business world and a holistic (all encompassing) point of view. Well written and signed by the heart!

solid science, unforgettable images
This is a great popular science book, written by an adventurer/explorer who also has a Harvard PhD in biology. He travels all over the world for National Geographic, taking nature photos as well as reporting on cutting-edge discoveries in the rainforests. As such, he succeeds at mixing art and science in this book, which is somewhat technical, but explained in clear language that laymen can understand. THis book changed the way I saw rainforests: fully 9/10s of their biota are in the canopy, in the leaves high above, which you would never from the ground. And Moffet went up there with camera to photograph it with some of the world's best scientists. The result is masterful.

It is truly a pity that this book is out of print. I wrote a review of it for the Boston Globe when it came out and later met the author, Moffet. He was as interesting and colorful as the book, full of hilarious stories of his adventures.

The Best Book to Review
This is the best book to review for the Chemistry Regents. Chemistry isn't as easy as it sounds. It is one of the hardest courses in High School. I found myself in a class with a teacher who was teaching in a whole differnet level which I couldn't understand. This book clears Chemistry up, it was written for students who doesn't understand their teachers, for students who don't understand the textbook and it is a huge help when going over the regents. You can be better prepared for class by studying in this book, reading and doing the problems this book offers, and it is better then some of the review books that I have brought. The Barrons review book is only good at reviewing old regents, this book goes over the notes to understand Chemistry, not just to pass the regents, if you want to do well, use this book, it is a huge help.

A good book!
Mark Rector has put together an interesting volume that serves both as a historical reference to old Scottish swordplay, and a guide to those individuals interested in the recreation of old styles of sword combat. Happily, it is also easy to read, and nicely illustrated. As the author of "THE ART AND SCIENCE OF FENCING," "THE INNER GAME OF FENCING," and "THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE SWORD," and the editor/publisher of "FENCERS QUARTERLY MAGAZINE," I recommend this book.

A great college text on North American Christian history
I think that this is a very thorough, enjoyable journey through the history of Christianity in the US and Canada. He not only focuses on events such as the two American Great Awakenings, but he pauses to discuss some of the more interesting and influential Christians of the times (Anne Hutchinson, Charles Finney, George Whitefield, Francis Asbury, Fulton Sheen, Billy Graham, et al). I highly recommend this book, but it is a long book, so be prepared for many hours of reading.
