This course is the best!
I am so impressed that someone finally developed a fast and easy German course that made it simple enough for me to communicate with my family members in Germany. Coming from a place of zero fluency to conversational ability is no easy task, but Language Dynamics took the pain out of learning German for me.

Great CD Version!
I have enjoyed and learned a ton of Spanish from these CDs.
The book is fantastic because you don't have to look up any meanings or go to the back of the book for answer keys.
It's all on the same page.

Special Handling: Newspaper Poems New and Selected

These poems are terrific and necessary
This is a necessary and important book. Anselm Hollo's incisive comments on the back cover are right on the mark. "In a world whose corporate neo-feudalist movers and shakers do not want us to pay attention to history--do not want us to remember anything much beyond today's hot commercial--poets like Charles Reznikoff, Ernesto Cardenal, and now, Mark Pawlak, dedicate themselves to a work whose value reaches far beyond the merely documentary. Pawlak's poems in Special Handling... form a constellation that demonstrates how truly appalling a planet can become when (and where) the mercenary and deluded run the show. In the Bardo of the Newspaper Morgue, Mark Pawlak is a steady and keen-eyed framer of instances of human behavior that are pretty damn unforgettable. The resulting texts do not need commentary, they don't even need this note; but they do need to be read, and contemplated." These poems were like a splash of cold water startling me to wakefulness. I'll never again read the newspaper or watch the evening TV news, lulled into passivity by the talk of commentators and politicians.I found some of the poems haunting.

A book of it's kind...
This is an intensive and informative kind of book about Thailand and the United States alliance. There is probably no other book like this around that describes the background of Thailand and it's many coups and revolutions from 1947 to 1958, and it's involvment in all the Indochinese conflicts. And why the United States would support and ally with a corrupted and often brutal Thai army which at that time controlled the country and government. The book is really about Thailand at it's most, but it also tells Thailand's relationships with (besides USA), France, Britain, Laos, Cambodia, China, etc. Its a very useful and valuable book for those who wants to know about Thailand and the United States relationship from the very beginning, and how Thailand became as USA's most important ally at that time. A recommended history book.

A Labour of Love
By shear luck, I happened upon this book in a book shoppe during a trip to London about six years ago.The book is hand set in 14 point Perpetua and is off-set printed on a Farley 24 proofing press on Goatskin Parchment Paper 160gm. The book is a limited-edition of 180 copies which are numbered and signed by the author. It is painstakingly bound by the author in quarter cloth with paper sides and printed labels. The book is dedicated to the author's wife and includes the inscription from a book on tapestry "A Thought for A Sixty-fith Birthday." The book has some commentary by the author, but the bulk of the book consists of printed samples of printer's fleurons, ornaments and designs from the various cases of fonts which were available to the author. If you believe, like I do, that dingbats, fleurons, flowers and other ornamental fonts are works of art you will cherish a copy of this book.
What remains is for someone to collect the dingbats, fleurons, decorations and ornaments which are currently available in digital format and produce a similiar work so these historical designs will not lost to time. Maybe I will do it some day.

One of my favorite books of all time.
Probably one of my favorite books of the 1990's. Maybe because of the sibling rivalry. I'm dying to know if it is autobiographical. Did it really happen? How do I contact author?

Gracias
All I can say is 'Gracias' for the ability to speak Spanish.
The tapes are easy, and I learned very quickly and never had to wonder what was being said because there was 'always' a translation in English.

Really Fast , Very Simple, Incredibly Effective
This course is a true road map to fluency in Spanish. From the moment I listened to the first CD I knew I had finally found a bona fide easy and fast way to speak the language. This course is a MUST for anyone (beginning to intermediate level) who wishes to learn to speak Spanish (and even read and write the language) without the jigsaw puzzle approach most courses use.
I found the instruction on the CDs and book to be crystal clear with instant English equivalents, explanations in English and abundant clear Spanish repeated from a beautiful native speaker's voice. The text follows and compliments the CDs but is more detailed and thus more challenging. Answer keys, explanations and translations are EVERYWHERE. And I am learning Spanish at an amazing speed because this course is so intelligently organized that it makes the process fast and easy.

The Beasts of Kentucky
No, it's not the UK basketball team, it's a collection of giant wildmen, under the control of a vicious master criminal, bent on -- Well, it's never exactly clear what they're bent on, but clear plots have never been part of THE SPIDER, nor are they that important. The important thing, as always, is slam-bang action. This has somew of the most intense action of any SPIDER story. Particularly impressive are Richard Wentworth's run through the mountains to spread the news about the wild-men, and his hand to hand battle at the farmhouse.
