Emanuel Poche used his experience in building the porcelain collection at the Prague Museum of Arts and Crafts to also create a solid reference manual for collectors. Over 2,000 marks are illustrated and arranged in an easy to use format. The illustrations are categorized in headings such as stars, water and flora to help the reader quickly find a marking. Notes on the factory location, owner of the company, dates the marks were used and the color of the marks, also assist in identification. A short introduction and history of porcelain and its marks will help new collectors as they begin their study of this vast field. While this book does not contain as many marks as in the Dictionary of Marks - Pottery and Porcelain by Ralph and Terry Kovel, its simplicity still makes it a handy addition to any collector's library.

I am a student studing Applied Finance here. I find this book quite worth reading for the beginners in Financial study and practitioners as well. It elaborates many basic but not not well-understood concepts in Finance in a simple way. This book was actually a collection of articles of a column "What Practitioners Need to Know" on Financial Analysts Journal. It has covered many important concepts in Financial area and tried to elaborate those ideas completely yet comfortably.

As the author said, "My presumed audience was .... who dabbles in quantitative methods. I have thus made an effort to avoid unnecessary technical jargon and to substitue numerical examples for mathematical symbolism." I think the author has achieved this point. However, this book is rather "old." I look forward to see the updated edition with other uncollected new articles.

For those who want to step into the palace of Finance, this is the book you couldn't miss.

i found this book in a corner of a library of an Indian company where i used to work. With curiousity i picked it up. Until then i had no idea about the contents of the book. i started reading the book and experimenting on myself. it felt pleasurable. the way the matter is organized in the book with scientific results is just unbelievable. After reading the book i really felt that this is the right book to learn and experience the power of meditation and other mind healing techniques which empowers the brain. Though i read the book a number of times, i find something new everytime i read it. it helped me get rid of tensions of professional life.

This is a rather brief overview of an interesting topic, given the recent explosion in Markan scholarship. I was hoping for a bit more in-depth analysis of each period of Markan interpretation, but got just enough to satisy my curiosity. The only big disappointment was the lack of translations for many of the foreign texts, which are offered only "as is". The bibliography is outstanding. However, the use of end-notes rather than footnotes was a bit annoying, and the index is a bit skimpy if you are looking for topics rather than people. Otherwise, the book is well worth the time for anyone needing a complete survey of the history of the reception of the Gospel of Mark. Above all, the author clearly shows how our immediate needs and social context shapes our understanding of what the gospel author is saying, or at least what we "think" is saying. Where it not for the occasional foreign language barriers, this would be a book to be recommended for lay audiences, although probably best suited for biblical scholars.

I would suggest a look at this book for anyone who preaches. It is full of ideas about the gospel, many new and challenging but not unusable. It also includes many, many non-biblical stories that could be used for illustrating texts from Mark, great to have on hand to start your thinking or your congregation's thinking. Good notes, but (too bad) no index, which lost it a point.

A truly indispensable reference book to have on hand for whatever ails you. The remedies are simple and relatively inexpensive. Vitamin and herbal therapies are offered as cures for a wide range of illnesses and conditions. Sufficient scientific data is presented without weighing the reader down in statistics and numbers. Clearly and conversationally written, I found the book to be surprisingly comprehensive in discussing a wide range of ailments and remedies. Following even one of these remedies could save one hundreds of dollars wasted at the doctor's office and on prescription medications. Every home ought to have this book sitting on the shelf next to "The Joy of Cooking".

Very well organized into sections and colorfully illustrated this is a great book to teach not only your child but possibly yourself how to pray.

The prayers are short and heart-felt; easy to read and even more importantly understand. It has an index at the end to help you find a particular prayer you want to say. Another wonderful thing about this book is that after almost every prayer it says "Amen." My daughter, Kaitlyn will say "Amen" but she can't even say sentences yet!

The best part about this book besides the organization, is the variety of prayers due to the numerous people that contributed to it. After most of the prayers there is a scripture or person's name. Here are some of the writers/contributors (in random order): St. Augustine, Bishop Reynolds, Charles Dickens, St. Fransis of Assisi, Sir Thomas Moore, William Penn, Thomas Ken, William Carey, The Book of Common Prayer, C.F Alexander, John Wesley, John Milton, John Hobbs, Michaelangelo and THE HOLY BIBLE to name a few!

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I enjoy praying for longer periods; however, for most people this will be a 5 star book. It is not how long you pray; it is the heart's quality, not quantity. God wants us to talk to Him regularly and now you have a book to help you make prayer a daily habit!

I highly recommend this book; it makes prayer so easy and joyful to do!

It was the Adept Kuthumi who caught my eye on the cover of this book. Kuthumi is the co-founder of the Theosophy Society in 1875 with the Master Morya. This book is not what I expected. Through Elizabeth Clare Prophet, Jesus and Kuthumi bring teachings of Prayer and Meditation which I was unable to grasp the first time I read it. This book radiated with such love, and was so beautiful - I simply was not use to reading such a high vibration. This book is a breath of fresh air for those who thirst for something more than just the "mechanics" of meditation. There is a way of Being in these pages which will touch you profoundly.

This book was a delight. From its easy to find and useful information, to the illustrations peppered throughout. In clear and easy to understand language, this book answers questions and gives the reader enough information to continue questioning her doctor if she wants to know more. I can recommend this to anyone at just about any stage of pregnancy. (I found it about halfway through mine, and read it cover to cover in two days.)

This book is a great way to find scholarships and competitions to earn money for college. I have made use of this great resourse many times and many more to come. I recommend it if you are planning to go to grad school. I know I am.
