Seems like a first story adventure
This adventure is full of puzzles and the storyline idea behind it can easily be beaten with a DM's creative mind or using a free mini-game storyline from a link or magazine. The whole comcept is very "cliche" with spinx, crags on the beach. The items dont makes much sense for players to figure out unless it is trial and error. ie: they find silly putty which about 4 maps later must use it on a sign to store its lettering so that they dont forget due to the "forget" spell on the sign. Feels like a video game where you must try out every single found item on each clue just to figure out the combination. Out of the whole 3 book series, this is the weakest.

This book should only be for adults!
This book should only be for adults because it uses the "n-word" too much, and has a southern accent incredibly impossible to understand. Also it is so boring!

A Poor Finale
For a series that started off so promisingly back in May of 1997, "Twilight of the Gods" is a disappointing finish to the adventures of Bernice Summerfield.

The prose varies from dull to duller, with far too many instances of cringeworthy dialogue. The plot arc, which began in "Where Angels Fear," finally grinds to a disappointing conclusion, with villains pulled out of a plot hole, and the same old schtick of "beings from a previous universe gain powers beyond mortal ken in our universe."

All in all, a most disappointing read, with none of the wit, creativity, or humour that used to be so characteristic of Bernice Summerfield's adventures.

What's Your "Cheers" Iq?: 716 Questions and Answers for Fans

There definitely could be better
Mr. Wenger has done a mediocre job trying to test our Cheers knowledge. Unfortunately, 750 questions is not enough to appropriately judge. Plus, some of Mr. Wenger's questions are silly and mundane. A true Cheers fan can provide more than 750 questions, and throw in more quality as well.

The Zip/Area Code Directory 1997 (The Where to Find What You Want to Know Series)

A Handy guide for area codes
This book is most useful for looking up telephone area code numbers. Unfortunately, it is of little real help for zip codes because it works numerically by state without allowing the reader to access codes by town or city names. For example, you can find all the zip codes for New Jersey, but can't look up the correct one for Trenton, NJ.

ah can't believe this is from Sams
All I can say about the book is that I can't beleieve that this book is by Sams Series. Cause I used to tell every one to buy Sams series cause they are just Great.

This book has not many but too many holes, they have started many things and without giving solutions shifted to new thing and then leaving the other one incomplete too.

The Cd works but there is nothing in it that you can say it is worth. I mean there are many things missing that have been mentioned in book that they are there.

Buying this book is going to be wasting money and nothing much more, so find some other one for Frontpage.

What has happened to SAMS series
I did use to recommend many people to buy only SAMS series books but now after reading this one I don't think I am going too.

This is the worst book I have ever read for FrontPage. Nothing is working, I mean the Samples are not is CD, and the author never replies. Please Please find some other book for Front Page learning not this one.

Database conectivity is covered the wrong way or it is not going to be wrong to say that it is Pathetic, it confuses all your concepts there.

Probably the finest book for beginners
This book is excellent for beginners. It goes step-by-step, including every detail you want to know about FrontPage. It is very well written and organized, and easy to follow.
The only thing that was a negative for me, is that some of the examples, talked about in the book, can not be find on the CD....so that was quite frustrating at first. But then again, you dont really need those.

Mark My Words
Published in Paperback by Alba House (December, 1996)
Authors: Joseph O'Hanlon and Joseph Oohanlon
Amazon base price: $19.95

Little academic or pastoral merit
In this treatment of homiletics this charactor O'Hanlon is scatter brained and inconclusive. It is an enigma as to why such low quality scholarship is allowed to trickle into the scholarly realm - it never, never should have been released. As a Catholic priest and seminary professor myself, I realize the vast import of offering sound and intellectually well constructed text books for seminary students. O'Hanlon suffers from a sort of meglomania in his writting and makes the reader automatically scoff at his ego-centric and grandiose style. I have heard rumors amongst my collegues that this O'Hanlon suffers from manic depression and severe alchoholism and should be treated in a mental home for these serious disorders. From a reading of this piece of rubbish he calls a book I am forced, as relunctant as I am, to agree with this diagnosis. Why does the Church and publishing world allow such debased books to be released?

Poorly Written
Within the context of homiletics as a valid academic discipline, O'Hanlin's book is a complete piece of non-sense. He proffers an expanded magazine article which is not all that good. How this fellow ever got published is a great enigma.

Oh Please!
Stop making fun of my dad, youse lousy wankers!

Trash
This book epitomises so much of what is wrong in the software industry that I wonder if, in a sick kind of ironic way, that this is its only value?

It cashes in on buzzwords in the title but is full of errors and demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of the material by the author.

There is nothing to redeem this book. It is an embarassment.

A book of extraordinarily low value
Around three years ago, I joked with a collegue of mine that a sure way to make a fortune would be to write a book which included the words "Java" and "Patterns" in the title. It would matter little, I argued, what the book contained. Just the title and a half-decent graphic on the front page would suffice.

It seems to me that both Mr Grand and his publishers Wiley are attempting to cash in on this very idea. The problem is that the joke was a bad one in the first place, and that it is now being made far too late in the day.

I hope that the software development community is sufficiently aware that it won't be taken in by this outrage.

90% obvious to a half-decent programmer
While I liked Volume 1 of this series, this book is just not worth the money. Most of its "patterns" are obvious strategies which anyone who has taken more than a couple CS classes will know already. For example, there are about ten "User Interface" patterns. These consist of things like "If the user needs to enter many pieces of discrete information, use the Form pattern." Many of the other patterns are similarly obvious.

However, there were a few ideas about efficiency and testing which I found useful, so the book is not a total loss. I'd suggest flipping through it at a local bookstore, but that's it.

Madden 2001 Strategy Guide
I had to judge for myself after reading the reviews and needing a guide for Madden 2001. This guide is total garbage. It showed me nothing I didn't figure out on my own before I got the guide and gave me no insights on franchise play, drafting, or even playing the game. Even as a replacement for a lost game manual it would be worthless. This is the worst purchase of a Prima product I have ever made. My money would have been better spent being burned. The guide is a glorified sales manual for Madden 2001. I'll see the next prima guide before I buy it. If I buy one of their's again.

not really very helpful

Delivers on promise...
I ordered this guide in direct contrast to the reviews listed here. I usually only purchase books that have at least 4 or more stars. I think some of the reviews were a little unfair, although apparently the reviewer's expectations were not met.

I ordered the guide mainly for the plays being spelled out. I just received my guide, and I have to say that it delivers what it says it will deliver above. I must admit that it falls short of the things that the other Prima guides provide. The other Prima guides provide strategies and maps to win in arcade type games. Madden is designed to be as realistic-as-possible, thus any tips won't work all the time. I tried the tips from gamesfaq.com, and the situation has to be right for them to work all the time. With this in mind, the tips in the guide are fine.

Overall, I think that it is a good general guide. I recommend using it with the tips from gamesfaq.com. Keep in mind that any tips depend on your knowledge of the game and the situation. I think that this is what makes Madden a great simulator. I don't know ..., but I am satisfied with it.
