Rigourous
For whoever likes the book by Feynman on path integrals, this book is very different. The author gives a much more rigourous
treatment of path integrals than Feynman, especially for the "measure" theory underlying these functionnal integrals. The scope of the book is pretty broad, even though the editor insists that the book is not an ecyclopedia. The author's style is much nicer than other textbooks on this subject like the one by Kleinart. The first 1/4 of the book (5 chapters )constructs the theory and its application to simple cases and its very readable by the amateur ( as myself).

Path Behind the Mountain
From the first page, Mark Jacoby draws the reader into the strange and exciting world of Ann Kalish, a linguist and State Department employee.

Jacoby paints a vivid picture with his words giving the reader a chance to see with one's own eyes the beauty of the Amazon jungle. It's obvious by his descriptions that Jacoby knows of what he writes.

With deftness, Jacoby pushes beyond common barriers of language and culture to open up a new world - the Peru about which most tourists never see or hear.

His protagonist, Ann Kalish, is no wilting flower. She's strong, confident, resourceful, and sexy. All wrapped up in a statuesque blond beauty feared and revered by the natives of Peru. From the moment her feet hit the soil in South America, she begins to make a difference without the blessings of her family and husband. Defiant, Kalish pursues her dreams and searches for her true meaning in life.

With a storyteller's heart, Jacoby spins his threads in many directions, then weaves them back and ties the ending in a neat bow. Read the Path to Arequipa and discover for yourself the path behind the mountain.

Epic Samurai Adventure
Ron Martz and Bart Sears have constructed a cinematic tale about
a monk who becomes a reluctant warrior. Sears gritty art style fits the story's timeframe and locale. There are grand battle scenes and interseting characterizations in this tale mixed with samurai action and fantasy . A great way to jump on this ongoing title from the Crossgen Universe.

Paul Tillich Theologian of the Boundarie

Paul Tillich was the last great 20th-century theologian.
Like Karl Barth, Tillich can be hard to read for those unaccustomed to reading scholarly theological texts, but once you get past the dense language you'll find yourself probing the deepest mysteries of Christian thinking and asking questions you've never before considered.

You may not agree with all of Tillich's ideas, but you simply can't ignore him when considering the deeper issues of modern theology. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wishes to deepen their faith by considering issues not considered in the day-to-day Christian world.

excellent repatriation overview
Mark Elliot's Pawns of Yalta is refreshingly concise and well-written. It touches on many aspects of Russians (and other Soviet citizens) involved in some manner with Germany during World War II, including repatriation, forced labor, POWs, and Vlasov's Russian Liberation Movement. For anyone wishing to study one of those aspects in greater depth, Pawns of Yalta is an excellent sourcebook and has a wonderfully thorough bibliography. For anyone simply interested in history, it is enlightening reading. Very good.

Charming little book
I bought this book for my son who is 20 months old and LOVES books. He is getting too "old" for many of his board books but is too squirmy to sit through most story books so this is a wonderful transition book. It tells a nice little story and, unlike other cheesy lift-the-flap books, the illustrations are all Classic Pooh. The flaps really blend in with the rest of the illustrations so it does make for more of a challenge to lift them but my son thinks that is more fun. He also likes that there is a different Pooh character under each flap and that they are all together at the end.

the start of encryption
I read this book ages ago, while studying the ww2 period in a history class. The code-master himself writing about spies and their development during the war years, what could be more exiting. The book is too short, so it was pure pleasure to see that the "sequel" had been published this year, giving me an excuse to re-read this one - unfortunately my old copy has been lent, relent and disappeared, I hope the other guys enjoyed it as much as I did.

recommendable book
This is a very interestig and readable book, therefore Irecommend it not only for the gay people but also the bisexual or heterosexual inclined people , including young students. However, I was astounded at the scantiness or absences of the classical Greek & Latin, Sanskrit literature, Arabian et Persian poetries, archaic Chinese and Japanese texts.

A Sociological Analysis of Mobile Communications
Published in 2001, this book is a collection of twenty-one papers submitted by research-oriented writers from both the academic and corporate worlds.

The papers discuss aspects of mobile voice and data communication adoption and use and the impact of this technology on various societies. Some of the papers compare the affects of mobile communications technology between cultures and nations including Scandinavia, Asia, the USA and other European nations.

Some papers relied only on the author's observations to support their thesis, and others used qualitative or quantitative consumer surveys, or statistical analysis of other published numerical data. Most were very analytic and written in the tone of professional, peer reviewed academic technical journal articles complete with extensive bibliographic references. It seems the authors were searching to construct some new models of social and cultural interaction based on the use of mobile technologies.

There are some thought-provoking analytic studies documented here, and good bibliographic references. If this is what you are looking for I feel that these papers would rank among the vanguard of social and cultural research in mobile telephony at the time.
