A Llama in the Library
This book is about a 5th grader, Adam, and his feelings for a new girl that moves into town. It's also about Adam's idea to get his moms llamas to the towns library remodel celebration. The focus seemed to much on Adams feelings for a girl and not enough about the llamas in the title. I felt that it's not appropriate for kids in the 4th grade and under, but to young for older kids. The title will attract kids to read it, but once I read the book I felt it was deceiving. It contains black and white illustrations, and would be 5th grade level reading.

An Excellent Travel Companion
This guidebook by the Lonely Planet was an excellent companion on my recent trip to India. The information was up-to-date and informative, yet never too wordy or boring. The "text-box" inserts were very entertaining while at the same time useful.

This guide is perfect for those traveling on a budget or those who want to take a "first-class" trip across northern India.

The maps in the book are very useful, as is the information about how not to get ripped off as a tourist. Highly recommended to everyone (of Indian origin or not) if you are contemplating a trip to India.

The Lonergan Reader
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Toronto Pr (March, 1997)

'Insight'
The subject of 'Insight' which the reader focuses on is a topic i have been facinated with since my college years. I thought the chapter on patterns of experiences was especially interesting and facinating. Begining with the biological pattern of experience and ending with the dramatic pattern of experience Mr. Lonergan points out the at the end their is a transcendental element to the experience which is God.

Lord, Who Are You? the Story of Paul and the Early Church

Author has excellent ability to make scripture come to life.
I have recently read Mark Link's three book set on the old testament, new testament, and Acts of the Apostles. Fr. Link has an amazing ability to draw excerpts of scripture together to make them come to life. He also includes contemporary writers and archeological background to help interpret the scriptures. After reading all three books, I spent a month going back and forth between them reading relevant and related parts in each book. The most intriguing to me was "Lord Who are you" because of it's emphasis on the early Christian church and the struggles of the apostles. Excellent work.

Erotic Horror done right
Erotic horror may be what's hot in that genre right now, but let me tell you- It's rarely done right. Lorelei is no ordinary enchantress. Clements explores the power of seduction, the raw beauty of women, and adds a fresh perspective. Full of twists and suprises, the ending comes without warning and you want it to come in Lorelei's arms. (and she's not the hero of this book!) The main character McGammon, a private detective doesn't come straight from an old film noir script, but he's just as fun
