This collection features stories so humourous that there should be a warning for heart patients. Ranging from advice for "Curing a Cold" to an angry article "Concerning Chaimbermaids", this set of articles will provide so much laughter aerobics will be unneccessary during the duration of the reading.

This is an excellent book for new Outlook users or for those who want to get up to speed with Outlook without the fuss. While intended for IMO mode users this book has enough information on Corporate/Workgroup mode to be of benefit to those users. I particularly like the Author's use of Integrated File Management and the emphasis on using Outlook as a "central" application. Must be the first book that has details on using WinFax Starter Edition. A good buy!

Mark Minasi wrote the book, The Complete PC Upgrade and Maintenance Guide and it was a proven winner. Now we have the perfect addition to that book and hands-on lab manual that makes learning easier and fun and will help even the most experienced technician.

The manual includes 41 labs that have you working on memory, hard and floppy drives, modems, irq conflicts, troubleshooting, upgrading and everything in between. Also included are lab reports, which will help you, track your progress along the way.

The appendix included covers the four essential upgrades, the power supply, the hard drive, the floppy drive and the scsi card. Missing from this book is a cd-rom with utilities and questions. Also the book should have been tailored around the A+ Certification.

Overall a good value for the money and the authors are very complete and thorough in the lab they give you. As with any lab manual there is only so many ways to do things, you can substitute your own problems for those in the book if you need to. A handy book for computer schools as well.

These two books were extremely helpful in getting me through the two A+ exams. they were recommended to me by my tutor when I did the A+ course. I am now a tutor at the school where I learned A+ and so have gotten back the money that I spent to buy the books and a lot more. Now that I am a tutor I am in turn recommending them to my students and have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody who doing or thinking of doing the A+ exams. The practice exams that come on the CD are almost identical to the Sylvan Prometric Format so you will be comfortable when you sit the exams

Read "Political Economy", any story with the McWilliamses, "Tom Quartz", and read "Political Economy" again. And there is the story about the cheese, the body, and the freight car on the train...

I burned my Spanish dictionary the day I received 'Complete Spanish for Dimwits' with CD. I didn't need to look up anything. Everything, meaning answer keys, translations,
explanations, came in the book on the same page and immediately on the CD.
My Spanish-English dictionary was rendered useless, so I burned it. It was a hassle to use anyway.
My only question is 'Why did it take so long for a company to come out with a book and CD as easy to use as this'?

This collection of three Tom Sawyer stories keeps the reader laughing and entertained and eager to see what mischief Tom is going to get into next. Mark Twain is a wonderful writer and his stories reach out to the young and old alike. If you're looking for a few hours of escape from the real world, I suggest you find it in the pages of this book.

Why isn't every teacher of composition, interdisciplinary writing, cultural studies (etc.) reading this book? And why is it so hard to get hold of? Hurlbert and Blitz provide a collection of essays by composition scholars AND newcomers to the field that demonstrate how bloody hard it is to teach writing and to make sense of a drive for literacy in a society that doesn't seem to value writing. Hurlbert and Blitz also supply transcripts of conversations among these writers-- the real stuff, not phony-baloney oratories about how perfectly they teach their little classes! I have been to those conferences and discussion groups and am bored stupid by the way that composition teachers like to pretend that they have found "THE WAY" to do it! Composition and Resistance tells a different story. It tells us that teaching writing is a struggle, that it doesn't always work, that, at best, it's a process of recognizing and overcoming "resistances" from students and teachers alike. A very good and important book that should be required reading in graduate programs in rhetoric and composition!
