The poetry in Meat was very diverse. The earlier ones seem to deal with things like depression, pain, sacrifice, death, hatred, and life's losses. I identified with them a lot. The later ones were a little different, some of a more positive tone, showing things like hope and truth. Some paralleled the nature of life and individuals, some was symbolic. I don't like a lot of poetry, but I liked about 80-90% of these ones!
The short stories were quite stimulating. The theories were well-thought and very meditative. The quotations were a lot of fun and also thought-provoking, as was most of the material in Meat! Some of the quotes are pretty deep, and I think about them from time to time. Maybe I need a little time to let them bake on my brain! I do like it all very well though! I give a strong recommendation on Meat!
Part 1 is THE MESSAGE. It is about human life on earth, touching upon trials and difficulties, then moving up the ladder to victory and success. This section stresses a firm foundation through Christ-based spirituality, and while it is brief and concise, it does not omit anything essential. Every once in a while Kilgore tosses in a relevant Bible passage to fortify his position, and I love his selections! I cannot emphasize enough the purity and brilliance here! YOU MUST SEE FOR YOURSELF!
Part 2 is THE POEMS, and they are very good! There is a wide variety of poetic forms and subjects. Some of these are as majestic and bright as the material in part 1, and some are completely opposite, delving into the depths of the human subconscious, complete with fear and evil. Although I enjoyed the nice ones best, I also appreciated the value of the dark ones.
Part 3 is THE EXCERPTS. Again, very good. Included are some short stories, note-worthy quotations, and some theories. I like one of the theories in particular, titled 'The Theory of McGwire and 70'. It deals with theology, numbers, and the unusual major league baseball season of 1998, emphasizing the possibly evil nature of the number 6, and the possibly divine nature of the number 7. I liked the quotes a lot, too!
This is one of the best books ever! I highly recommend it! I often re-read certain sections from time to time. MEAT holds a special place on my bookshelf, and a special place in my heart.
It was a fun, adventurous tour. Right from the start, everything seemed so basic and pure, very original. I often wondered where the author got the idea of this book, because it was a totally different format from any other book that I had read. During the reading, I had to pause for thought at least 100 times, because it is so deep! Definately a book for heavy thinkers. This books is divided into 3 parts:
THE MESSAGE was about life, illustrating first the struggles and failures, then how to seek truth through God and Jesus, and how to properly begin and build your individual relationship with Him. I thought it was extremely well-written, and I was impressed by the simplicity and logic. THE MESSAGE is something I wish everybody could read; so much good would result, in my opinion! I wish I could find the right words, but believe me: MEAT has the right words. Please give it a shot. You will not regret this, I GUARANTEE!
THE POEMS were very diverse, stimulating me in a wide variety of ways. I wondered if some of them are true, or at least based on the author's real-life experiences. I was certainly entertained by these passages! At one point, the poetry seemed to shift gears and I pondered mightily at the multiple possible meanings! I'm still developing my own theories about some of these poems!
THE EXCERPTS were also very good. I enjoyed the short stories and theories, but my favorite was the quotes! The word DEEP just continues to pervade my thoughts. It's all good.
In summary, I highly recommend you read MEAT. I often pick it back up, to refresh my memory of a particular piece. Sometimes when I do this, I lose myself and forget that time is passing! That is the ultimate compliment for a book! 5 stars all the way!

Dr. G. Martinez Salazar, Neurobiochemist
The focus is on the hardware for spotting, not as much on scanning or data analysis. I like it somewhat better as a practical guide for the basics than Rampal's _DNA Arrays_, which covers a alternate uses of microarrays.
