A useful resource for those involved in negotiations
Anyone who negotiates for a living should read everything available on the subject, in part to improve their own ability but primarily to understand the approach and tactics the other party may be deploying. While I don't put the Schoenfield's in the same league as people like Roger Dawson or Gerry Spence, they do a very credible job of detailing the negotiating process and instructing would-be negotiators. To state the obvious, if you're involved in a serious negotiation and are searching for a book to provide you with immediate help, you're in trouble! Hire a professional to help you through your current negotiations and when time permits and the situation is less critical, read this and other books and take a few courses or lessons in negotiating. Mexico or bust: a driver's story of the World Cup Rally
Published in Unknown Binding by Harrap ()
Author: Mark Kahn
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

An Epic Motorsport Event
Sunday Mirror writer Kahn joined rallyists Peter Jopp and Willy Cave for the 16,000 mile 1970 World Cup Rally, a.k.a London-to-Mexico City. He details the construction of their car, a BLMC Morris 1800, and how it fared. There are many details of the route and the hardships faced, especially in South America where the roads were quite rough, poorly marked, and where they traveled above 11,000 feet through the Andes.

It falls short in that it does not give details of the finish nor the finishers, as the Jopp/Cave/Kahn car fell short of being classified as a finisher by a mere 600 miles.

Despite that lack of overall info, it is an interesting tale for those who have yearned to experience the famed Marathon rallies of the 1970s.

Book Review
This book is good for an overview of the course or the program. Don't expect to learn a lot from it. It is good for a one day workshop. It is very simple and basic but for a beginner. As a teacher I am using this book to introduce my students to FrontPage 2000 (course lenght is 27 hrs of instructions).

Monica Seles's true character portrayed in this book.
This book was fun to read, but went into a few too many details. I relly enjoyed reading about such a wonderful tennis player as Monica Seles. I recommend this book to quick readers, or anyone who wants to learn more aobut Monica.

Reflections from a truly eclectic priest
Fr. Mark Hollenhorst was the most unusual Catholic priest I've ever known. He had a broad range of interests and a cultivated taste for the absurd.

This collection of his last homilies gives real insight into the process of dying and how to embrace the reality of finality.

I am curious about some of Fr. Graham's selections of Fr. Mark's homilies. Several are the old, stale fare that we hear again and again from the pulpit. Also, it would be nice to know the biblical readings upon which the sermons are based; Fr. Graham left out most of the citations as well as the liturgical settings.

Despite the above mentioned flaws, Fr. Hollenhorst's sermons are outstanding reflections on religion, life and death in modern times.

The Murphy stories

A slow and patient craftsmen
I first came across one of the stories in this book in the Northon Anthology of Short Fiction. "Murphy's Xmas" is the sad story of a man whose life is at loose ends. His marriage splintering, his drinking is interfering with his teaching position and in the middle of this he is driving his wife and child to see Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas in DeCatur. Once home, he feels the way many young people do upon returing to the place where they grew up. An old despair, perhaps that you will never escape the place you came from (not to mention your parents' expecations) no matter how far away you move. This is not a happy book, but it is smart, evocative and understated--you either get it or you don't. I got it and I liked it. Mayonaise.

The Muslims of Bosnia-Herzegovina: Their Historic Development from the Middle Ages to the Dissolution of Yugoslavia (Harvard Middle Eastern Monograp)

Generally useful
This is a collection of articles that cover the entire span of the history of the Bosnian Muslims, although the quality of the individual contributions varies greatly. The first three articles, which go from the Middle Ages to 1878, are unfortunately uninformative and even tedious for anyone who has already done some reading on general Balkan history, and probably confusing and perhaps overwhelming for those who have no previous knowledge in this field. By far the best piece is the article by this volume's editor, Mark Pinson, which covers the period of Austro-Hungarian rule in Bosnia-Herzegovina (1878-1918) and its effects on the Muslim community. This was in fact a very crucial period for the Bosnian Muslims, because as Pinson points out, it was when they first became a politically aware as a community, and began to seek new ways to articulate their needs. The final article by Ivo Banac, which covers the twentieth century, is a good survey of Bosnian Muslim political history, but it lacks depth, which is disappointing given the importance of this period for understanding events in Bosnia today. There is also a useful, if somewhat dated, appendix for finding further resources on Bosnia, both in print and on the Web. This book is, thus, a generally useful reference source, but it could and should have been something much more.

Presents each child's own story
This book has places to add pictures and details to tell your child's own story. My daugther, nearly two, enjoys looking at pictures of herself, her Mommy and Daddy, and her birthparents as I read to her about her adoption. The only negative thing, in my opinion, is that the colors and animated characters are dull. It needed a lot of stickers, pictures and drawings to make it more interesting for our daughter.

So being made to he goes and makes a cannonball for him to fly out of just so he has some experience. but he falls into the roof of Mrs.Pomfrey-Parkinsons shed, the door is locked and he cant get out of there. He finds his ball and sees no garden tools
