recent themes in social statistics
This volume of Sociological Methodology touches on both long standing and more recent themes in social statistics. In the first chapter, Adrian Raftery discusses all of these themes, reviewing the analysis of cross-tabulations and statistical methods developed to analyze survey data on individuals. Turning to the future, he discusses the limitations of some current work and outlines developments important for the field in the coming years, such as social networks, the analysis of longitudinal network data, spatial statistics, and social interactions. Durlaf's outstanding and forward looking work on what is perhaps the most important issue in sociology, the interdependence between group and individual, proposes models that can be used to inform important sociological issues, such as whether to have child, to move, or how many years of education one seeks. The editors of this volume have taken exceptional care to be mindful of the needs and interests of readers of Sociological Methodology and offer here a very rich and rewarding spectrum of issues and perspectives.

A good supplment for the Stormbringer roleplaying rulebook
I've played stormbringer for several years now, and have found a lot of flaws in the original magic system. This book fixes a lot of the problems, although I believe elemental magic is still too strong compared to demon magic.

If you don't already own the original stormbringer rulebook, this book is not for you.

Interesting book. Well thoughtout
A strange book that rings true. Much like Gods of Eden. But by its very nature a very distrubing book. Good read for those who liked / Follow the teachings of the other Prophet books or the Life and Teachings of the Masters of the far East series

Good Driving Guide to Southwest
This is a good sightseeing guide that should help anyone who is interested in traveling the States of Utah, Arizona and New Mexico by car.

Even if you know you want to see the Grand Canyon, what else do you do in the Northern Arizona / Southern Utah area? This book answers that question.

Arranged by state, the book highlights different attractions in each area. It also suggests driving loops, designed to hi-light the highlights while traveling a circular route along major highways. This is certainly designed well for someone who is unfamiliar with the area and wants a travel itinerary laid out with suggested sights and attractions.

Accommodations or restraints are not listed, so one would have to look to another guide or the internet for those. This book can get you started with your destinations, however.

A piece of chess history
Bernard Cafferty is an expert about soviet chess, and here he presents the history of Soviet Chess Championships: from the beginnings (after the revolution) to the "fall of the wall". Each tournament is described, reporting also the crosstable. In the commentaries the main author is helped by Mark Taimanov, a leading GM for long times, extremely well know for his opening theory books, and one of the players in many of that tournaments as well. A book for everybody, especially people interested in the chess history.

Helpful Reading for the Spiritually Confused
This book is a wonderful overview of the current spiritual situation in which the world finds itself. The information is not in-depth, but is accessible and a good starting point for further research. The information is presented in a personal, easy-going manner with lots of interesting anecdotes and personal experience. The author also points wonderful images from time to time to explain different concepts. A must read for the spiritual pessimist or seeker.
