Amazingly Inspiring
As a college student at the age of twenty I have been in the pursuit of inspirational words and ideas to help lead me towards a successful adult life. This book contains so much wisdom and inspiration it is only necessary to read a few lines each day. It combines a diversity of ideas into one place which makes it a must have book for anyone trying to make the most out of their lives.

The perfect gift a Father can give to his children.
Several years ago I received Templeton's Discovering the Laws of Life, as a gift. Each day I read one of the passages of the book and received what can only be described as encouragement and direction. I yellow marked every word of wisdom and found at the end I had turned all of the pages in the book to the color of my highlighter. In Worldwide Laws of Life, Mr. Templeton has again completed a masterpiece which should be placed nexted to the Bible as a source of wisdom and reflection. Last Christmas I purchased three and gave one to each of my three children as a gift. Over the year they too have expressed to me the profound pleasure they get in reading book, especially in times they characterize as troubled, but Templeton characterizes as, simply..the questions that life asks you. I encourage every Father, or Mother, to give it as a gift for any occasion. The wisdom in the book, related by the World's elite, cannot but improve your childs outlook and encourage his or her positive participation in life's journey.

this book will feed you...
These are the things I wish my father had taught me, and the things I wish my children will learn. It's such an extraordinary treasure chest of wisdom, one of those few books that you'd want to have stranded on a desert island or standed on Manhattan Island. Just superb.

My God! It's awesome!
A couple of good friends of mine recommended this book to me. I can't thank them enough for bringing the art of Jack Richard to my attention. The book is wonderfully put together - the selected photos included provide a great introduction to the art of Jack Richard while the text gives you an understanding of what the Yellowstone Country must have meant to the artist. I hope that the authors are hard at work on a second well deserved tribute to the art of Jack Richard!

Slice of Wyoming's Past
As my Mom used to tell it, Jack Richard was a gentleman who happened to be a photographer! He did it all--from capturing the splendor of Yellowstone to making portraits of people who lived and worked around the Cody area. Many of the photos he took of my grandparents are lost, but the surviving images are amazing. In this book, Wyoming Journalist Bark Bagne takes us behind Richard's camera and allows us a glimpse into his life and love as a photographer. Bagne, who honed his skills at the Wyoming Tribune Eagle and Cody Enterprise during the past two decades, is a perfect match for the story. Anyone who has a love for photography or Wyoming will cherish this book.

Back in Time
Many of the photographs in this book remind me of my own childhood growing up in Wyoming. Mark Bagne has done a great job of capturing the feel of the pictures with his writing. This will make a great gift for my mountain-loving friends.

Must read for aspiring professional ballplayers
This book is an excellent text for any aspiring professional ballplayer. Decisions aren't always based upon the best talent/playing ability, a cold fact of life not mentioned much by recruiters and scouts. Wonderful reading for a baseball fan.

He pursues his dream with dignity
The author tells his story with an honest, easy going approach. It was refreshing to read an athlete who is not bagged down with an enormous ego. I was pulling for Steve the entire way, and I hope that one day his sons will pitch for the Phillies and lead them to the World Series.

a great true story - i never knew what went on until now
even though my dad wrote this book, i never knew what all went on. i think it's enjoyable to read, and very unbiased. i'm glad i read it, and it's fun to see my name in it.

This one is just right
I bought three books to try to learn Access and it was just like The Three Bears. Using Access 2000 (Que) was too big--a complete reference that will allow me to master Access in about 3 years. Quick Course in Access 2000 (Microsoft) was too little--really just an overview. But this book was just right. It has a CD with one or more files for each chapter to work on. Part I is the introduction and then Part II is the overview section with chapters on the database window, tables, queries, forms and reports, primarily using wizards. Part III goes into each of those topics in more depth. Part IV covers more complex databases. I found it easy to go from the overview chapters in Part II to the detail chapters in Part III and then skip to the more advanced topics in Part IV when I needed to. This is the book to teach yourself from. Then you can go to the Papa Bear books.

Exceptionally well written
Highly recommend: simple enough for novice database users to understand without insulting our intelligence. Examples have strong relevance to real-life situations. "Database-speak" is gently integrated by this author whose mastery of the English language is exceptional. I found myself chuckling at his dry humor, which I could almost hear articulated with a British accent.
Already ordered Inside Relational Databases by same authors.

one of the best kept secrets in access 2000 books
I just happened to see this book on the shelf and it was quite smaller than the other access 2000 "telephone books" beside it. This book is written by one of the original program archectects of Microsoft Access was it was first invented.

A WONDERFUL read, IDG should have bought out the contract and had this book as their Access for Dummies. Eventhough IDGs version is good, this is shoulders above the rest.

The authors share with you how to master and UNDERSTAND the basic features so you can get going with the program. They even state in the book that they only cover the 20% of all the features and want to make sure you understand the 20% first BEFORE grabbing the "phonebooks". Like they said, if you don't know the basics inside and out, the rest will be a waste of your time. Wonderful, personable read. bravo

I love the book
This book was great i read every one of his adventures. I got realy mad when i heard some librarys were banning the book. :(

Great Illustrated Classics by Baronet Books
I bought the original work of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn for my 8-year-old and while he reads on a very elevated level, the original had language too difficult to decipher. However, he was interested in the story so I bought this abridged version and he loved it.

Great rendition.
Jack Lemon takes a rare and wonderful turn at narrating in Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. This adaptation of the Twain classic seems crisper, capturing the feel of youth. It has never sounded better. The spry Mr. Lemon breathes life into this worn classic. This is a keeper for all ages.

What a wonderful book!
I just finished reading Mark Crilley's Akiko, Volume One, and I have to admit it was one of the most delightful books for young people I have ever read!--a great little girl heroine, and two squabbling characters that just make the whole book. Mr. Beebo and Spuckler reminded me of Tweedledee and Tweedledum and Alice--always arguing with each other and Alice trying to make the peace. Really delightful reading! ...

I used to teach 4th and 5th grades so I am familiar with what would be appropriate for this age group, and I thought the vocabulary and storyline were just perfect. The vocabulary was right for 4th graders with some challenging words in there to challenge them as well, which I feel is absolutely necessary to advancce a young reader's reading skills. Great for children with that right added touch of growing maturity where the kids begin to understand and appreciate some adult humor. Spuckler says as he rushes to leave his house, "And take those Bropka steaks off the grill! :>)...Gax the robot says, "I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHIG LIKE IT, SIR...VERY ROUGH TERRAIN...CRATERS...NO SIGN OF LIFE..." "You idiot! You're looking at ME! " Spuckler shouts. lol! --The book is just full of these super one-liners, appreciated by 4th gradersand adults alike. And of course the drawings or beautiful--the characters expressions priceless--you have to see them to really appreciated their quality!

I want to thank Mark Crilley for such a great book and if you have children, or even if you don't this would make a wonderful book to read!...Betty Knowlton

My Favorite sci-fi book yet!
I bought this book a short time ago. I started reading it and read straight through. It is about a girl(Akiko) and her adventures on the planet Smoo. If you want to read a good book , buy it!

A true, amazing story!!
This was an amazing story, the book had awesome pictures! I really like the book it was just cool. I thought Alex Winters had an amazing adventure, well I read this whole book and it was a great book (diary). This was about a boy who was in sixth grade, his parents and father is a scientist and Alex wanted to be one too.Well, he was on a plane sitting next to the pilot and he was writing in his diary that his grandpa gave him. He was going to the Amazon jungle and it was Christmas! The plane crashed but Alex was alright but the pilot was out cold. He was still breathing! The Yanomami and Alex found each other and brought the pilot to their village and when they got there, there was some big guy ordering them to put him in the hut to lay down. Alex thought he was a chief! I just have to say Alex Winters had an incredible adventure and he did, did a good job on his diary!!

A wonderful look at another culture from a child's viewpoint
Author Hudson Talbott presented a fascinating talk for families at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County detailing his and co-author Mark Greenberg's journey into the Amazon. His description of their trip, plus the engrossing video of the experience helped explain why Alex Winter's fictional experiences rang so true. Mr. Talbott's respect for the Yanomamis and their world is very evident, both in his presentation and in the book Amazon Diary. All in all, a delightful presentation and a terrific book!- Nancy Fox, Education Division, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.

A smooth integration of photographs, drawings and text.
I recently had the pleasure of hosting both Hudson Talbott and Mark Greenberg at The Cleveland Museum of Natural History where they presented a multi-media lecture for children based on their book "Amazon Diary". I was immensely impressed by the book before their visit because of its smooth integration of photographs, drawings and text into an exciting adventure story. Hearing first hand how their real-life adventures in the Amazon were incorporated into the book makes me admire the authors even more. - Jonathan Wilhelm, Director of Family Programming at CMNH

The American Ethnic Cookbook For Students: (Cookbooks for Students)

A great cookbook for teachers and adventurous eaters!
This is a terrific cookbook, brimming with wonderful facts about the myriad of ethnic groups that people America! Mark Zanger has rounded up not only a great collection of recipes, but also stories about the food and the culture from which it comes. I'm a new teacher with students from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and more...and I love the information provided about favorite dishes of each of these cultures that I can share with my kids! I'm already wishing for volume 2, wanting more recipes from many of these groups. I know I'll use it often.

Especially recommended to members of specialty dining clubs
Superbly designed as a reference for school and professional cooking school curriculums, Mark Zanger's The American Ethnic Cookbook For Students is ideal for the home chef as well. Virtually every ethnic background represented in the American populace is represented with this impressive collection of culinary dishes that will pleasure the palate and satisfy the appetite. The hundreds of entries are arranged alphabetically by ethnicity and range from Acadian (Cajun) to Zuni. In addition to a wealth of culinary treasures, The American Ethnic Cookbook For Students is enhanced further with appendices on "How To Knead"; "The All Stuffed Cabbage"; "They All Fried Bean Cakes"; "They All Fried Dough"; an annotated bibliography, and index of recipes by states, and a general index. The American Ethnic Cookbook For Students is especially recommended to members of specialty dining clubs whose menus celebrate ethnic cuisines.

A Fascinating, Funny and Friendly Book about Food
This is the first cookbook that I have stayed up reading in bed. I am not a student in chef school - this book is a gem for anyone interested in people. I loved finding out about other people's family history and heritage, and my own. The introductions to each ethnic group are short and informative. What makes this cookbook really special, though, is its style. The introduction is full of comments about good cooking practices that made me laugh out loud for their truth and wit. I also liked the sensetive comments and suggestions about food substitutions for people with religious and other dietary restrictions. Finally, the recipe directions are simple and clear, never omitting possible adjustments that sometimes are necessary, which experienced chefs would know, but that novices like myself would miss. There are clear illustrations and as always in this book, gentle humour that makes reading and cooking a joy. I look forward to the author's next book.

A Timely Read
Given the current dissention wihtin the Southern Baptist's church this book provides an excellent insight into the formation of the religion and how it gradually reconciled its radical views and became a more mainstream sect. It is particularly relvant given the current turmoil within the Southern Baptists.

brilliant young scholar writes an accessible winner
Why did the Associate Dean of one of the world's leading business schools read a book on the interplay of religion, history, and politics? I Chair Emory's Ethics Center, and Mark Bell is a young scholar who is being talked about. This book shows why: it is lucid, well-researched yet always engaging, and breaks original ground that taught me a lot about one of the world's great religions. Bell transcends narrow scholarship--his fertile mind and apt pen range impressively over many fields--to create and defend a useful new thesis. This book is clear and concise in its exposition, thus the wisdom and culture it imparts is worth the reader's investment.

Religion and Revolution!
Even though I am not a Baptist, I really enjoyed reading this book. I was interested to learn that there was such a diversity of opinion even among the earliest English Baptists. The author's discussion of the way in which some Baptists were more radical than others, and how various elements within the Baptists wanted to accomodate with society is well integrated into his analysis of the importance of apocalypticism. This was not only a highly enlightening book, but it is also well-written and easy to understand.

Alien Earth
A fabulous read for the Sci - Fi novel lover. After some character development in the first few chapters, be prepared to not put this one down till its done!

Alien Earth
For an action packed, emotionally charged book that is hard to put down, I recommend Alien Earth. For a fantasy fiction novel, the story is flavored with a sense of realism as you find yourself picturing how you would act in the impossible situation that the main characters find themselves in. I highly recommend this book to all of my friends. I really enjoyed it, and I rarely take to science fiction novels.

If you like Sci Fi then this is a GREAT READ!!!!
It is important that you stay with this book, as it seems a little slow at first, but as I was to find out, character development very important later on in the story. I enjoyed this book because it puts a different twist on the alien invasion of earth. The aliens even have a special use for Disney World. Hope you enjoy this book as much I did. Just a note, I read the last 100 pages in one sitting, as I didn't want to put it down.
