I've read a few books on Internet marketing and this isn't the best -- but it's near the top of the list. You fall upon good ideas, like allowing salespeople to create personalized Web pages for business customers and a privacy manager that gives users control over tracking. Other interesting information includes how to manage sales leads with automated e-mail personalization and screen savers that drive Web traffic. Chapter 13 on the future is "out there" yet interesting.

This is the best book on the Internet and electronic marketing I have ever read.

This book delivers what it promises... 4 battles you surely would not have studied (unless you happened to be a "local" to one of the sites), seperate from one another but tied together by the crimson thread of Courage.

I highly recommend reading this book if you are a fan of Military History, a student of the "Civil War", or simply attracted to real acts of Heroism & Courage from an era blessed with a level of integrity and grit that is only a faded memory to America today.

To borrow the words of Shakespeare, "Courage mounteth with occasion". Far from the grand movements of the armies, the great battles and the central figures of the Civil War, one finds thousands of examples of personal courage of men who met the occasion, but have been largely forgotten by history.

Mark Crawford in "Confederate Courage on Other Fields" does great justice to four of these lesser-known stories of sacrifice, bravery in the face of great danger, suffering, and devotion to duty by men fighting for the Confederate cause. I found each tale to be well researched, insightful and easy to read.

"'Tisn't life that matters! 'Tis the courage you bring to it" -Sir Hugh Walpole. I believe Colonel Charles Blacknall of the 23rd North Carolina Infantry, as described in Crawford's book, exemplifies the courageous leadership exhibited by many men of the south. A wealthy, educated planter, Blacknall hated drilling, the study of tactics and many of the trappings of the military. However, belief in a cause led him to great accomplishment, at a price of personal sacrifice, ultimately his own life. As you read his letters, and gain insight into his devotion to his family, and his love and understanding of his men, you will admire this fellow who gave all for what he believed in.

My primary reason for buying this book was my lifelong interest of events in the bitter struggle for control of Southeast Missouri. Though considered a backwater of the War and often ignored by historians, the violence of partisan and guerilla actions in these border counties profoundly affected everyone living in the region. Instead of a five-hour skirmish or five-day battle, the fate of this area was sealed in five years of ugly, shocking bloodletting and destruction. Most folks fled. In many parts of Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas the bitterness remains to this day. Crawford's treatment of the conflict between Major James Wilson on the Union side and Colonel Timothy Reeves on the Confederate side is the most fair, accurate and honest I have read. A consequence of this contest was the execution of prisoners on both sides. In reading this account you will come to appreciate the bravery and gallantry of men caught up in a struggle without rules and often driven by revenge that discouraged noble actions.

You will finish this book with an expanded understanding of the "Brother's War", and the tremendous sacrifice of the average Confederate soldier as he faced danger in a courageous or fearless manner. I hope Mark will consider a sequel exploring the courage of Union men. I heartily recommend this book!

I recall a quote from Robert Anton Wilson who said, "Anyone in the United States who isn't paranoid must be crazy." I always thought that was an amusing quote, and it should've shown up in this book, probably! Fenster explores the prevalence of conspiracy theory in American culture in this very academic book. While his writing style is good, I warn you that this book seems aimed at academics, and not your garden-variety conspiracy buffs.

He begins with exploring Richard Hofstadter's work on the paranoid style of American politics, and leaps into studying the militia movement, later focusing on JFK, the X-Files, and other forms of "conspiracy as entertainment" and also examines millennial Christian groups and apocalyptic predictions, etc. Fenster is rigorous in his exploration of conspiracy theories-as he explains in the beginning, he is not detailing the theories so much as examining what they represent, both culturally and individually. In this, he does an excellent job, particularly regarding the militias.

He seeks to get past the old notion of conspiracy theory as pathology to seeing it as a legitimate, if extreme and disempowering expression of popular dissatisfaction with the status quo. This is an important observation: that conspiracy theory, by embracing the idea of all-powerful individual villainy (a secret group behind it all), instead of structural problems (capitalism, American democracy) people can actually affect and change, conspiracy theory saps the strength from people by making them paranoid bystanders to their own lives. But he's clear to point out how the structure of the American political system creates this line of thought, albeit unintentionally-the majority of Americans are marginalized in this society. The tonic for this would seem to be action, rather than taking refuge in conspiracy theory.

Overall, this book is worth your time, but don't read it as a titillating account of conspiracies or you will be disappointed. If you're curious about what makes these things tick, then this book is for you.

The answers are simple, this book has details. This book has facts. This book has information that is hard to find anywhere else. Above all this book isn't conjecture. Fenster's ability to bring to life the conspiracy and what it means to society is nothing short of remarkable.

From the very beginning, we find that author's attention to detail almost incredible. Fenster has taken what society has reduced to nothing more than tabloid trash and revealed secrets that will make you scared and judging from the writing you should be.

Fenster covers Militia groups, JFK, the Millennium, Bill Clinton and other and does it very well. I am certainly glad to have had the chance to read this remarkable book. I would hope the author is in the process of a second edition. Once again - excellent job!

An excellent overview of the public manager as a creator of value. Moore does an excellent job drawing parellels to the private sector to illustrate how public managers need to address the needs of their consumers by creating value. The only downside of the text is the high level style of the writing, which sometimes makes it difficult to follow.

This book is an excellent source for practising public managers and academics and students who interest in public administration. As time passed, people, their representatives and public managers change or need to change their paragigms. Moore indicates the reason why public organizations must change. Organizational posture and position always must be in accordance with external environment. From the perspective of Moore, public managers must move away from the technicians that work to realize the goals imposed by elected officials with the maximum efficiency to the strategists that analyze the environment and find new ways for creating more value for people. This does not mean bureaucrats are completely free and can think and do whatever they desire. We know this situation points to the demolishing of the democracy. But Moore stresses that public officials must be made accountable for the results and all the time they must be oversighted by citizens, representatives, press, interest groups and public at large. This book is not a How-to-do guide. But we can adapt the principles proposed to the unique circumstances of our organizations.

The stories collected in this book are before the comic book industry allowed money to be the sole purpose for publishing comics. The stories are written and drawn by comic book legends from the two greatest comic book publishers: DC and Marvel. I can read these stories over and over again. If you are into reading good comic book stories, then buy this book.

This book collects the first four DC/Marvel crossover stories and comprises 2 Superman/Spider-Man stories, Batman/Hulk, and X-Men/New Teen Titans. They're all excellent stories. Superman vs. Spider-Man while seems a silly story by today's standards is actually very entertaining and fun. Both of them really shine. It kind of set how crossover books are to be done though, heroes who don't know each other fight and then realize they've been duped then team-up against common foes. The second Supes/Spidey story is more on the serious side and somewhat better than the first but I felt Jim Shooter (the writer) tried to cram a lot of stuffs by including subplots and Wonder Woman and Hulk appearing. For those not in the know, it is in this story that contains the first ever battle between Superman and the Hulk. The third story is perhaps the most mismatched heroes, Batman vs. the Hulk. It sometimes feels more like a Batman story rather than a true Batman/Hulk story because of its tendency to shine more on you-know-who. Oh, and Bats practically beat the Hulk, you just got to read it to find out how. Lastly, the best of the crossover classics would have to be X-Men/New Teen Titans. Two of comicdom's favorite teams against the most dangerous villains of the DC and Marvel Universes: Darkseid and Dark Phoenix. Combine that with an excellent Chris Claremont story and you got a winner. Nuff said.

Mark Manning, aka the legendary Zodiac Mindwarp, rock god and idol to millions (well, at least a few hundred) shares with us his skewed memoires in this fine tome. Is it fact? Is it fiction? Does it matter? If you're familiar with Zodiac's style of lyrical meandering you'll find this book a fine return to form.

Mark Manning's confessional tome really dredges the depths of human behaviour. Trapped in the ultra-sleazoid world of eighties rock, the former Zodiac Mindwarp embarks on a rampage of misogyny, self-destruction, alcohol, drugs, hardcore pronography and more. What saves the book is that it's not boastful at all - Manning's self-disgust and self-loathing overides all the evil things he has done and he even emerges as being charming. Quite bizarre all in all, a book that should turn your stomach but ends up being too compelling to put down. It's illustrated by the author too, which is a treat.

As a children's librarian, I am always looking to get guys "hooked" with a well-written and engaging story of a current sports hero, and this book is an excellent choice. It is appropriate for grades 5 to high school. It's even a quick enjoyable read for adults.
Its narrative style instantly engages the reader by relating the the story of Derek's fascination with the Yankees as a young boy and the personal journey that led to the realization of his dream.
The book also relates information about his family, his personal stats, and other interesting details of his life and career.
I very much look forward to the other sports biographies in this "Baseball's New Wave" series.

A young boy opts to adopt an abused and neglected dog in need of a home rather than raise a coveted purebreed pup and learns that hard-earned love is sometimes the sweetest to receive. Ukrainian artist Katya Krenina's illustrations are delightful and Lisa McCourt's tale of a boy and his dog seemed particularly relevant to our family's own adoption story.

Within the pages Chicken Soup for Little Souls: A Dog Of My Own you find a story that is full of patience, love, trust and hope. I am certain it will touch you in a heartfelt manner, especially if you are fond of dogs. The primary plot in this story is about a young boy that finally receives his Mother's approval to acquire a dog of his own. His initial plan is to obtain a collie, from a nearby farmer. However, on the way to Mr. Hogan's farm, the story takes an interesting twist, changing the outcome of the story, and providing a good character lesson.

Recommended for children Ages 4-8, I have shared this tale with children 2 years of age+, and found it to be attention grasping. If your child is reading at a second grade level, they will probably be comfortable with the words and sentence structures. This book is one of several within the Chicken Soup for Little Souls series. Although I like all of the tales, A Dog Of My Own is one of my favorites, because children relate with the story, and often have experienced a similar situation.
