We must revisit the house that God built, and begin to lay upon it with the knowledge that all of our work will be tried!!
So build it right and it will stand.
What if God were to take away from the Church everything He never told us to do?
God is solemnly calling us to enter the gates of His true house. It is here that we will discover--and learn to live out in practical ways--the spiritual order of the House that God built for David...and of the House that God is building in and with us!

'How I Adore You' is a series of seven distict stories, between 20 to 40 pages each, giving both the author and the reader sufficient time to develop the characters and the mini plots to make each story a delicious meal in itself. Mark Pritchard's writing style is smooth, captivating with an 'in your face' kind of earthiness that makes the reader feel like he's right there in the middle of the action. And what action there is, it comes at you in all flavours and touches those hidden delicious fantasies, that, although the reader may not ever actually participate in real life, but, to sit and watch ... ahhh there's the mastery of the author.....
The book starts with a very short story 'Lessons in Submission' that lets us wander into the mind of a young man painting a crystal clear mental portrait of a seduction of his submissive girfriend. The abslolutely amazing part of this story is that the author is able to tell this story without falling into that easy trap of turning the story into the kink of domination, discipline, and rape.....
In 'Ordinary Story' we are introduced to a young black man, in San Fran, OF COURSE, troubled by an affair with Ron, who says that he has no problems with his homosexuality but that the does also have sex with one woman. Our hero has a problem with that and does not know if Ron is being truthfull in his feelings or if he is a bona fide bi-sexual. He discusses the issue with some of his friends in a conversation that is so well written I avtually thought I was sitting there with them. Our hero then decides to invite both Ron and his female sex partner, Pamela to dinner so that he can try to really understand Ron and this whole bi-sexual thing. Suffice it to say, the dinner was mind blowing and again, so real life I practically ripped the pages out of the book to get to the next part fo the story ...
Although it would be tempting to give you a flavour of all the stories, the coming of age story 'Incest' is probably my personal favorite, I must admit that this is a must have book for our erotic library to be enjoyed over and over ....

My only criticism of this book is that there was no mention at any point of Mark's realization that he would never walk again, that he would forever be reliant on others and indeed be reliant on an iron lung. When was he first told he would never walk again? How did he and his parents react to this news? Did he live in hope that by some miracle, he would walk again or did he accept that this was the way he was going to be for the rest of his life? After finishing the book, I felt that these questions were left largely unanswered.
Also, as Mark O'Brien died in 1999, I felt that it would have been good for the co-writer to have written an epilogue regarding the circumstances of his death. Throughout the book Mark comes close to death on several occasions and he talks about death in quite some detail, but the reader is left with no details of the actual circumstances in which he died.
Despite these criticisms, I recommend this book highly. It is an amazingly inspirational read.
How I Became a Human Being is Mark O'Brien's account of his struggles to lead an independent life despite a lifelong disability. In 1955, he contracted polio and became permanently paralyzed from the neck down. O'Brien describes growing up without the use of his limbs, his adolescence struggling with physical rehabilitation and suffering the bureaucracy of hospitals and institutions, and his adult life as an independent student and writer. Despite his weak physical state, O'Brien attended graduate school, explored his sexuality, fell in love, published poetry, and worked as a journalist. A determined writer, O'Brien used a mouthstick to type each word.
O'Brien's story does not beg for sympathy. It is rather a day-to-day account of his reality?the life he crafted and maintained with a good mind, hired attendants, decent legislation for disabled people in California, and support from the University of California at Berkeley. He describes the ways in which a paralyzed person takes care of the body, mind, and heart. What mattered most was his writing, the people he loved, his belief in God, and his belief in himself.
Mark O'Brien was the subject of the 1997 Academy Award?winning documentary Breathing Lessons. He was a published poet and cofounder of the Lemonade Factory, a California press that published poetry by people with disabilities. O'Brien died in 1999 at the age of forty-nine after completing a draft of How I Became a Human Being . Gillian Kendall is a writer. She has contributed to both Outright Radio and Sun magazine; one of her short stories appeared in The Student Body, also published by the University of Wisconsin Press.

Cartoon-style illustrations makes this book a fun read. Your kids will also get hands-on learning as they push tabs into slots, and pay close attention to directions.
No glue, scissors, or power tools required other than an active imagination. Just remember you can't walk this dog or take it swimming. It's paper!
This book would make a great gift for younger kids (grades 2-5) and makes for a fun rainy day project. Don't be surprised if Rusty the dog takes up a prominent space on your child's bookcase.
Building Rusty can be a great bonding moment for parents and kids.Parents can take this book to the next level by creating their very own recycled art project out of junk with their kids! No rust required, just a good dose of imagination!

A month or so ago I picked up _The Basics_ at the bookstore, thinking that some of the easy recipes could help me replace Healthy Choice TV Dinners as my standard evening fare. Well, not only have I thrown away those old TV Dinners to make freezer room for better food, now every evening I make delicious, healthy meals based on this book's recipes, meals that rival my favorite restaurants here in Seattle. And I'm having a great time doing it, too!
Personally, I've found Bittman's general purpose advice in the Introduction and "Basics" sidebars even more useful than the recipes. Advice about quality ingredients, the broad variety of interesting materials you can find at your corner grocer, and knowing when a meal is done - all the cooking basics I never learned from Mom but wish I had.
Mark Bittman, thank you - you've made me a believer and a rabid fan.
