Ideas Galore - even for those who think they aren't creative
This is a book which provides a host of fabulous ideas for quilting patterns - quilting patterns which don't require you to mark your quilt top (yippee!), fiddle around with graph paper or tracing paper (hallelujah!) and which allow you to be really creative even if you can't draw (unbelievable!) Furthermore, the technique can be used by everyone for every type of quilt: people who quilt by hand, people who quilt by machine, people who make patchwork quilts, people who applique. There are a lot of ideas in this book - and it gives you the confidence to experiment. The text has been written with the machine-quilter in mind (some discussion about technical issues which are irrelevant for hand quilters), but it seems to me that it would be just as useful and exciting for handquilters. And there are some samples of hand quilted projects in the book. No project patterns - but loads of full colour photos of completed quilts. A book which will change the way you quilt for ever!

The Quotable Osler
Published in Hardcover by American College of Physicians (01 December, 2002)

A must for "Osler Lovers"
I know three of the medical doctors (All members of the Osler Society) who assembled these choice selections uttered and (mostly) penned by Sir William Osler . . who seems to have felt strongly on only one controversial subject = that men seldom did any worthwhile creative work after age 40 and would do well to be "chloroformed" at age 60. Sir William died at age 70. The term "Internal Medicine" was coined in German-speaking Europe during Sir William's post-graduate training years there and he established the definition of the "specialty" at Johns Hopkins. The "specialty" has now out-lived its usefulness but our reverence for the man who contributed more than any other to the art and science of patient care obviously is being passed along to many young men and women who choose to be REAL PHYSICIANS.

Garber = Genius
To borrow from a delicious deconstructor: The intelligent ease, strength, and flexibility displayed in this book are astounding. It teaches and questions, searches and provokes, stimulates and cautions, with a sure-footedness and intellectual self-confidence that combines scholarly rigor with relaxed scandalousness. Garber is the queen - and king - of culture; and you can quote me on that!

A lot of wisdom rolled up into a tiny book.
This book is incredible. Not only do you get to know Frost and Reichert pretty intimately, you see how ideas can merge and interplay through the interesting relationship that they had. It has a lot of insight into the mind of Frost particularly. Andrew Marks has put together a true gem with this little book. I borrowed it from a friend and now I am going to get my own copy because it says so much that I know I will get even more from it the second and third time I read it.

Rabbinic Fantasies: Imaginative Narratives from Classical Hebrew Literature

Fun and Clever
This book belongs in any library of Jewish folklore. The stories are well-written and delightful; and often provide a new spin on a familiar tale. Excerpted (and cited, of course) they make excellent anecdotes. Woven together, they provide a sense of the rich and vivid tapestry that comprises Jewish folktales. Sometimes irreverent, sometimes poignant, and always real; there is something for everyone here.

A MUST READ FOR EVERY ONE!
I really think this book is "right on the money" in "end time" facts. From the first introduction of UPC codes, I KNEW we would be on a fast track to receiving the Mark of the Beast. This book explains what has been happening and what we can expect before Christ's comes for His church. It is wonderful to know that THOUGH, we as Christians can read about this, we will actually be GONE before a decision will be made to worship the Beast and take his mark..... HIGHLY recommend reading !!!

The next level...
After you've read John Robbins' "Diet for a New America", and digested it (pun intended) for a few months/years, it's time to read "Radical Vegetarianism". Mr. Braunstein will take your thinking and mentality about food, nutrition, and health to the next level. Sometimes caustic, often funny, and always intelligent and thought-provoking, this book is a great read and very inspiring.
