This text is a timely and insightful work. The authors give a good overview of the major assessment instruments used in Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education. Procedural guidelines, cultural validity and family concerns are also discussed. I found that the book is a great reference tool to go back to when questions arise! I would recommend this book to anyone working in the field of Special Education.

A dry book, but one with more information than you will ever need to know regarding standardized tests! An excellent reference for all in special education, with honest reviews regarding the strengths and weaknesses of available tests.

This is a beautiful book--not at all the kind of thing you'd find waiting on the shelf in any of the bookstore chains. It's a giant paperback with glossy wrappers, with a terrific design for the text, and it lies open easily--the same dimensions as Jargon's edition of Joel Oppenheimer's Selected Early Poems. A big book to make a big impression.

Throughout, Meyer cultivates an epicurean persona, writing often about his desire for the finer things in life--especially sex. The poems are a mix of free verse, sonnets, and more formally experimental work. In addition to Meyer's original poems, there are translations and remarkably inventive adaptations. The variety of the work represented is one of this selection's great pleasures.

Mark Morris has produced an extremely helpful travel guide on Atlantic Canada. This Moon Travel Handbook has a solid introduction section that covers the region's land, ecology, history, government, economy, climate etc.

Each Province is covered succinctly and Mark Morris' information and recommendations are helpful, but his restaurant comments could be more critically informative, ie. "the food is well prepared" (what the heck does that tell me?) or "the seating is smoothingly refined" (huh?). Also, because the publication date is 1999 (thus the information is pre '99) I found some restaurants and inns closed or sold. As a whole, accommodations prices have increased an average of 15% to 20%.

Maps are an essential and critically important aspect of any guide. The maps in this guide are easy to read but lack the user friendly aspect of locating the recommended restaurants and accommodations on the maps.

A area that has become as essential as address and phone numbers is email/web site addresses. A time and significant cost saver especially for up-to-date information and accommodation quotes and reservations. I am sure this will be addressed when the next edition comes out.

Though slightly flawed due to the date, lack of user friendly maps and absence of Internet information, this guide is still my first choice for Maritime Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador. You will not regret this purchase. Recommend 3.5 Stars

Great colour pictures, picture perfect pointbreaks, radical reefs, barreling beachbreaks, and more. An exhaustive review of surfspots in Oz, from the crowded pointbreaks of Surfers Paradise, to the empty soul surfing in the outback, this is a good buy for surfers, overseas or Aussie, thinking of a surf holiday in Oz. Tips on swell direction, tides, time of year to surf etc etc its all there, written by former world champion Mark Warren, and compiled by surfers from around the country. And one more thing, a few secret spots have been left out, which you can find on your own!

As a pastor, Augsburg Sermons for Children is one of the best children's sermon books that I have come across. I have found many children's sermons books that are based on analogies that children cannot yet comprehend. This book uses stories and experinces that I have found the children can usually relate to (for example, plating flower seeds, going to birthday parties, etc) and then helps them relate those experinces to Jesus' teachings. Each week's children sermon is based on the Gospel lesson in the Revised Common Lectionary and so the lessons usually fit the scritpure readings and my sermons. The children in my church have been highly receptive of the children's sermons and seem to relate to what is being taught. I have also found that adults get a lot out of the sermons as well. I would recommend this book to pastors as well as lay persons who lead the Children's sermons. The ideas presented in each sermon is easily adpated to one's own congregation, to own's own experinces and adaptatble to the children in the congregation. My only frustration with the book is that it is written for older children and most of the children who come for the children's sermon in my church are younger. However, I have been able to adapt most of the sermons to fit the younger children. I would highly recommend this book.

An English translation of the original Greek book by the distinguished theologian who has since become His Emminence Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Church of America, attempts "to view the main characteristics of the image of Christ" in the Second Gospel.The author successfully presents the christologies of authority and passion in Mark and he supplies referencces for further reading but, by its nature, the book makes uncommon demands for analysis and repetition from the average reader.

This book provides a wide-ranging analysis of the religious and educational influences on 19th-century American literature, with a particular attention to literature by women, as well as canoncial male authors. Fuller, Child, Alcott, Stowe, and Sedgwick are read alongside Emerson and Hawthorne in this provocative look at the rhetorical shifts and discursive complexities underpinning a range of literature, from novels and essays to tracts, manuals and "self-help" books. A must for any scholar of 19th century American literature!

Having collected auto racing memorabilia for years I have often wondered why someone hasn't come out with a definitive resource. Well, here it is! While it is very small in size it is not short on value. Covering everyting from driver profiles to open wheel racing this is the ultimate source. It's a shame that it gets buried on the book shelf because of its size, but good things really do come in small packages! Outstanding!

If you like baseball, you will love this book. It's a "coffee table" type book that every true baseball fan needs in his/her sports library.

It comes with a Homerun Derby CD. For me, the game was a little hard to figure out because the directions are a little unclear. I'm working on it and will master it one day.
